This is brilliant.
With a lick of paint, BB Brawn would make an excellent troop builder.

While the style doesn't click with me (wasn't a fan of the Cybertron sequence, didn't care for that part of an otherwise good movie), these do look like fun toys.

Huh... I still have Cybertronian Adventures for the Wii to start on. :-?

I know some on here, such as Will, were not entirely sold on those designs. However, Shockwave in particular, is still my favourite design for him. Chiefly because they modernised him.

I didn't like the FOC toys for that cheap thin plastic and simplistic transformations (a fake head on shockwave, really?!). But I never minded the designs themselves.

Fair enough. I always saw them as the natural extension of what was begun with the Vehicons. They do feel different to most other figures too, I admit. Noticed that recently when I was setting up my City Bot displays again.

I see, thanks. It's been a while since I've seen it. I wouldn't have been surprised with a 'blink and you miss it' Laserbeak in that sequence somewhere. Since they seem to be the only Cassettes Soundwave is allowed to have onscreen in recent years...

Nice Soundwave burger!
I didn't like it at first, but now that I know that it refer to something, I'm all for it!

Same here. I've been wishing for more Scioli designs for a long time. Still waiting on Starfish Metroplex!

Core class, yes.

why the holy hell is ratchet core class? and shockwave here for that matter. I thought the point of studio series was to be reasonably in scale, and we know SS Ironhide is, supposedly a voyager, ratchet is the same size as ironhide, and I refuse to believe bumblebee movie shockwave is that small.

Also, can we take a moment to consider: Cybertronian Rampage from SS soundwave, because if that doesn't look like the cybertronian precursor to a robocrab I dont know what does.

Because Core class is different, Hasbro said so themselves. The main purpose of core class is to have affordable, simpler versions of the main characters at a cheaper options for parents. Period. That is the whole purpose for that class. The bonus is when it actually fits scale-wise for smaller size bots like Ravage or Rattrap, but those are the exception rather than the norm.

The core class argument comes down to Hasbro wanting recognisable characters are low price points for parents, hence why we got Optimus/Megatron/Starscream/Soundwave at core class

Or the reverse, when those main characters fit with the Titans in their core class sizes.

And just because we get a Core class Ratchet doesn't mean we won't get a larger version. (Unless it's been confirmed that?we won't?)

With the news that ROTB is delayed to 2023, I wonder what that means for Studio Series. It was already apparent based on listings we wouldn't see ROTB in SS next year, but I wonder if that means we're looking at 2024 now for ROTB stuff in SS. If so, and considering that 2022 is looking to get almost all of BB checked off, maybe we'll see a lot of Bayverse stuff in 2023. That'd be great!

It's possible that we still get ROTB SS in 2023 I guess, but that kind of seems to defeat the purpose of waiting till after the movie to get the final designs right.

I haven't heard a reason for the delay, but being given an extra year doesn't necessarily mean they'll be making a lot of drastic design changes in that time.

Well, it's a case like AOE/TLK/BB where the concept art Hasbro is given to base the figures off of isn't always accurate to the final design in the film (Aspects of AOE Prime's design, parts of TLK Bumblebee, and Bumblebee's door wings in BB). It seemed like the delay on SS figures for ROTB was to counteract that, but I'm wondering if the film delay will change things at all.

I wouldn't mind for the toy line to be delayed by a year so that the designs are sure to match what's on screen. But I know any last minute changes would never be possible to do on the toys because million dollars molds can't be changed on a whim.

Maybe a year of repaints and reissues to gives some breathing room?

Man just when I had unsubbed from the main Studio Series thread since I wasn't interested in most of the output, they reveal more Bumblebee movie stuff to reel me back in.

Brawn, Wheeljack, and Ratchet all look great. However, I only have a limited space for my Bumblebee movie display and it's already pretty full with both versions of Shatter and Dropkick, Blitzwing, Starscream, all four Bumblebee molds, and Cliffjumper. So I may only end up getting Brawn as the best looking of the bunch. Soundwave might as well be an action master because that alt mode is atrocious and if I get him he's only going into it once a year or so when I feel like fiddling with him.
Shockwave looks great but I'm hoping this isn't THE definitive Bumblebee movie Shockwave figure, seeing as it's Core Class.
Speaking of Core Class, the new packaging looks very strange. I wonder if they're going to be no-plastic windows like the more recent Cyberverse Warriors. And color me not a fan of all the empty space in Ravage's box. I assume his (Soundwave's) gun is in the covered space adjacent to Shockwave's legs but seeing these side by side really makes you question why the figure half the size of its wave-mate is $10.
And on the topic of Ravage....

Nice! Starscream is one of my favorites of the line, I regret missing out on the ROTF version.

I’m totally be on board for a DOTM repaint that has a darker gray base color with the tattoos, and includes the Gatling gun and arm missiles for weapons.

Super late to the party here, but all the BB movie Cybertron scene figure look GREAT! Even if Soundwave turns into a flying pair of electrobinoculars! Bravo to the designers for coming up with coherent and sensible alternate modes for models that didn't have any to begin with

Say now that I think about it, looks like Soundwaves cassette door in vehicle mode isnt the same as robot, so maybe its some repurposed back detail, so he can drop Ravage out ah la Galaxy Force or Siege

New Images of Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Soundwave

Postby william-james88 » Tue Nov 23, 2021 11:17 am

Motto: "'till All Are One"
We have several images of the new Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Soundwave. The photos come from various places including Optimusprimeprodctions on Instagram. We see the box which indicates that this figure is past the production stage and in the hand of distributors already (or at least ready for distribution). The box also has a double backdrop, it seems since we have a backdrop soundwave is attached to (but cannot stand on) along with an additional backdrop in the box.

We get to see that both chest panels (for robot mode and alt mode) line up at either side of his chest, with the alt mode panel flipped to hide the fake details in robot mode. We also get a good look at his chest cavity. We thank everyone who sent us a message regarding these new images.

So that means deluxe wave 15 (which includes SS86-11 Perceptor) But also has SS BB Ratchet, BB Brawn, and BB Wheeljack will likely be 80-82, we just don't know exactly in which order yet.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Which is interesting because it means that they are not numbering the core class, or they are numbering them out of order.
