Ok, if we are to be stuck getting G1/G1-like figures for all eternity (which seems likely anymore because, you know, imagination is kind of rare at Hasbro), THIS is what I want. That Ratchet is amazing, and Arcee is just sick. Brawn LOOKS like a Brawn- meaning he's not this little tiny thing...he's, well, brawny! Big! Bold-looking, physically imposing. I can't wait for these!
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

I have to admit, I kind of agree, I wouldn't mind half as much that we keep getting G1 season 1 characters over and over again, if they applied some creative licensing to their designs
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

I'm really exited for these BB movie figures.
For me, THESE are what the Siege designs should have been. True CYBERTRONIAN modes, no "Earth modes with gribbles" nonsense.

I see that point, but at the same time I would really like updates on Robots in Disguise and the Unicron trilogy soon. Why doesn't Hasbro realize what a cash cow that would be for them?Hellscream9999 wrote:First-Aid wrote:Ok, if we are to be stuck getting G1/G1-like figures for all eternity (which seems likely anymore because, you know, imagination is kind of rare at Hasbro), THIS is what I want. Oh, I agree, I don't want G1 season 1 every year, I just mean that if we are stuck with it, this is how I'd prefer them handle it. I really need UT updates in my life

Updating Cybertron is going to be a nightmare for the designers, because of the Cyber Key gimmicks. Choosing what to keep, what to drop, and what to homage will be a very daunting task when it happens.

I'm honestly of the opinion that most of the original Cybertron molds were as good as, if not better than, today's figures, and would be perfectly content with simple reissues of those molds rather than updates, however unlikely that is to happen.Rtron wrote:Updating Cybertron is going to be a nightmare for the designers, because of the Cyber Key gimmicks. If Walmart have an exclusive line of G1 and OG Beast Wars reissues, I don't see why that wouldn't be the same for Armada, Energon, and Cybertron.

If that were the case couldn't they just simply reissue Galaxy Convoy instead of giving us a new version in Siege? Conversely, cant they give us updated versions of the other characters, like they did with that Prime?Sabrblade wrote:I'm honestly of the opinion that most of the original Cybertron molds were as good as, if not better than, today's figures, and would be perfectly content with simple reissues of those molds rather than updates, however unlikely that is to happen.Rtron wrote:Updating Cybertron is going to be a nightmare for the designers, because of the Cyber Key gimmicks. I think it might be a question of finances, as the Cybertron figures would no longer meet the size class system of today. If they did do that, it would have to be separately like they're doing with the original Beast Wars molds.

I can't say that any of them look that good, the design just doesn't appeal to me personally. And all I see when I look at brawn is Man-at-Arms. Arcee's alt mode does look cool but her robot form doesn't feel streamlined.

Yeah, you basically answered your own question. Cybertron Optimus Prime would easily be Commander class given his thicker plastic, spring loaded parts and missiles, electronics and overall size. They were able to do those Prime RID Japanese reissues at very reasonable prices and at least the Beast Wars reissues match current prices for the same or equivalent-ish size classes (still don't understand Rattrap being the same price as Cheetor). Maybe Cybertron Optimus could get away with a $65 price point. Armada Optimus on the other hand would definitely being the $80 or more range thanks to have involved his electronics are, not just the whole self transforming motorized trailer and LED in the fist, but also the infrared system.

Well if they would have introduced season 2 Autobots at the beginning of Bumblebee then maybe we would be getting versions of them instead? They did this because those are some of the core G1 S1 characters that keep getting pushed especially in these movies (since BB is a mild "reboot"). They are kind of following the original formula somewhat with S1 first, S2 2nd, etc etc.. I am just glad I am still able to buy quality TF's 37 years after they came out. Yes I know the main line released Cybertronian versions of some only to then remold them and sell them in their earth modes a year or so later and I did question that but I was still glad to get them.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I've just had a realization about the rumored SS86 Core Rumble, after reading that there's a rerelease of Ironhide on the way in the Studio Series 86 line. SS 86 could be a rerelease of Rumble... In TV show colors. That would be cool, given Frenzy was an exclusive. And that I love it when Hasbro trolls people who are adamant there's a "correct" answer to the Frenzy/Rumble argument.

Dang, looks like the age of keeping my TF packages is over. I stopped collecting the WFC packages at Kingdom because they lost their repack value for when I travel/move. Now it’s taken over SS, so I can’t say I’m surprise, just still annoyed.

See the good side.
So much saved space, and this will be a torn to the side of those damn toy-swappers.

The Bee movie toys look really nice. They definitely are what Siege should have been, they are far more interesting than most of those ended up looking.
Brawn is definitely the best looking one so far. I am excited for that one. Ratchet and Wheeljack also look really nice.
also nice to see we will continue to work on Bayverse. I will keep begging for TLK cons until I have a full crew with Infernocus.
Arcee's new design is far better than her 80's design. I love that new tron cycle mode, it's awesome!

Grabbed a picture of Thundercracker with some outdoor lightning yesterday, I like how it turned out! I still can’t get over how cool it is that they have him a Starscream-styled head that’s still unique!

Great as ever! You really managed to bring out all the molded detail. Agree on the head, this figure really stands in an unique spot in Studio Series, being a toy of a character with no on-screen appearances. Loved him in Reign of Starscream, though!
