Many New Movie Toy Listings Including a Voyager Cheetor and Deluxe Airazor
- Motto: "'till All Are One"
Thanks to JTPrime17, we now have multiple new listings for the 2023 Studio Series line. They include beasts in various sizes and more Bumblebee. Along with a coded character we don't know of yet, Appolo. We also have a non ROTB Bumblebee, which is labelled as WFC within Studio series. It will take time to see how this all plays out but now we have more of an idea of what is coming out next year.

For reference:

Wish the Core class was that shade of pink and not magenta, but it's a good looking figure regardless. Not crazy about the weapon, wish it covered his hand. Also looks like it splits in half for some reason?
It's interesting that they're using the "Apollo" code name again, they last used it for Age of Extinction for Dinobot Slash. I wonder who it could possibly be this time around? As far as we know BW Dinobot isn't in this movie, certainly not Slash.

Many code names are being reused this time around, from previous code series, like George.

So since Goldbug happened, could this WFC Bee be a reissue of the VW mold? Or will it be yet another mold besides a Camaro or a jeep?

You know, a reissue of the VW mold would make a whole lot of sense since that figure was previously sold in the Netflix line, whose actual proper name was "Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy". It would explain how and why there is a "WFC" in the listing if it's supposed to be a Studio Series release, in that it would be a toy originally first released in the "War For Cybertron Trilogy" toyline and of a character from one of the theatrically-released feature films.Rodimus Prime wrote:So since Goldbug happened, could this WFC Bee be a reissue of the VW mold? ...well I said I would have to get Laserbeak if it did turn out to be Murderbee, so that's happening.
I'm guessing Apollo is gonna be that tow truck Battletrap, since I believe he was the only RotB cast member that hasn't appeared with a codename in the RotB stuff we've seen before now?
...WFC Bee could easily be related to the recent WFC and be boring, yeah...but JTPrime speculated when the listing was discovered that maybe the Studio Series WFC Bee is as such because it's based off the High Moon Studios WFC game, and that's probably not likely...but I can't get the thought out of my head now.

I hope if it's Battletrap he has a nice bot mode because I could really go for a new Longarm figure.
You know, it probably wouldn't take much to retool Bee movie Cybertronian Bee into WFC game Bee.

Well, I didn't expect Laserbeek, but this is certainly a cool deep cut. And coupled with the box art depicting the little girl's bedroom, this is probably one of the darker things Hasbro has released in a while.

Nice to know they will be doing Leader Snarl, and hopefully not at Voyager size
. I thought he would be last and that they'd do Swoop as the next release, since he had a lot more screen time in the movie than Snarl (blink and you'll miss him).
I'll be curious to see if they do anything with the tail by way of articulation. The one thing that always bugged me was how inflexible the tail was, when it was supposed to be Snarl's primary weapon.

My thoughts as well. The big hurdle there is his robot mode. If it was a straight rerelease, it would have to go under the SS86 line, since G1 Bee and Bayverse Bee are different. I thought maybe it could be another shot at Bee from the Bee movie itself, but that wouldn't work. Besides, even for his short screen time, Bee was an important character in TF:TM, he should be represented in the line.Sabrblade wrote:You know, a reissue of the VW mold would make a whole lot of sense since that figure was previously sold in the Netflix line, whose actual proper name was "Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy". Well, that DotM Laserbeak is really surprising, but I love it! That is how you do an off the cuff out of nowhere figure. I love it!
I hope the voyager NEST listing is a retooled Ironhide like his RotF Recon toy. I would LOVE that!
I did get the NEST Bumblebee too, he is pretty nice. The colors are good on this mold

Yeah, why is it this color instead of pink? I'd have actually considered it had it been accurate colors from the movie.

It is pink. It's just bizarrely a deep shade of pink rather than light pink.Till-all-R1 wrote:Yeah, why is it this color instead of pink? I'd have actually considered it had it been accurate colors from the movie.

Wow, that is pretty quick.
That's wave 3 of studio series 2022 coming in exactly as the 3rd quarter starts.
By comparison, I am so far behind locally that I bought my wave 1 deluxes on Pulse during that sale and can finally join in on the conversation regarding those.
That SS BB Ratchet toy really surprised me. While I wasn't sure at first since parts of the alt mode looked off, I just fell in love with the transformation. The team at Hasbro really went out of their way for this ratchet toy, giving us very different looking modes from robot to cybertronian vehicle that bring new details to each mode while also using the same parts in new ways. It really is my perfect type of transformer.

While I don't like the robot mode aesthetic of the Bumblebee movie cast, the Studio Series toys really show off, to me, what the design team could do if they weren't shackled by screen accuracy as they are now. These characters didn't have any alt-modes designed for the movie, so the toy design team had to come up with some. Aesthetic preferences aside, Arcee, Wheeljack, Ratchet and Brawn all look like they have very fun and interesting trasformations. I'm convinced that the outstandingly fun transformations the toys based on the cybertron scene have are in no small part a consequence of the design team actually getting to choose at least one of the modes for once. Not being beholden to someone else's idea of what at least one of the modes should look like means they get to cut loose with the transformation and make sure it's a fun toy first, a small replica second.
This is the stuff we miss out on when the pipeline is media design first, then toy design. That's why so much people like the ancillary bots from 2007, RotF and Hunt for the Decepticons so much more than the ones representing guys who were actually on screen. It's also why Animated is top notch: there was active communication between media designers and toy designers, so it hit a very special sweet spot that neither toy-first nor media-first approaches can hit.

Another mysterious Studio Series WFC listing has appeared, this time for a Deluxe Barricade...which still does nothing to .determine which WFC this is referencing.
I can't believe we've reached the point where I'm actively in favor of yet another new SS Bumblebee mold
...the alt modes are definitely similar, but they practically have inverted proportions compared to each other in bot mode, so a new mold would probably work better. Plus the Cliffjumper repaint-with-new-head option still exists to give the mold reuse, if this is what's happening and that would be a concern.Emerje wrote:You know, it probably wouldn't take much to retool Bee movie Cybertronian Bee into WFC game Bee.
