At the very least, "AST" usually means "assortment".Overcracker wrote:Sabrblade wrote:We don't know yet.Overcracker wrote:What is Next Gen?

Mysterious.
Specially because A Level AST is applied to the probable next movie Prime, and an 86 Bumblebee.![]()
The game’s afoot.

We're not entirely sure, since it's also listed under "A Level AST" instead of "Studio Series", and have a product number that better resembles those that belong to a capsule subline.M. And the product number also changed from starting with F to starting with G. That usually means a different line of production as well with different guidelines for aesthetic. So I doubt they will be Studio Series, though being designated "MV8" and "86" does give me pause.Sabrblade wrote:We're not entirely sure, since it's also listed under "A Level AST" instead of "Studio Series", and have a product number that better resembles those that belong to a capsule subline.M. If we indeed get a SS86 Bee, will it be another use of the Netflix mold, perhaps in a brighter yellow like Buzzworthy Bee was? And does that mean Prime will be a figure of Prime from the fully animated movie scheduled to come out next year, which is apparently labeled "movie 8?"

'Course, no beasts in Kingdom also would have meant no beasts in Rise of the Beasts, and no Beast Wars: Super Lifeform Transformers Again toys or rebroadcasted cartoon.
In other words, the Beast Wars MPs seemed to have relied on Hasbro maintaining a refusal to celebrate Beast Wars.

I'm pretty sure Generations doesn't affect Masterpiece. They teased Rhinox a while back.

In a sense it did, actually. Unlike G1, Beast Wars with its smaller fanbase is more prone to oversaturation of its market and we have seen what oversaturated markets do. Now that lines are moving away from Beast Wars Masterpiece is ready to fill that void again.

Masterpiece and Generations are not the same market. It's like saying family cars crowd the sports car market.
Although, Beast Wars Again is sticking around for a little bit and creating a redundancy for the Kingdom figures.Jelze Bunnycat wrote:Rtron wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The Beast Wars MPs may have continued if Hasbro hadn't listened to the fans' criticism of Hasbro ignoring the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars back in 2016, and hadn't made the Kingdom line to co-celebrate both the 15th anniversary of TFTM and the 25th anniversary of Beast Wars.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:As someone following the Beast Wars MP line, I feel for the fans of the SS Bayformers line. Just like how MV6 Frenzy is most definitely SS86 Frenzy, MV8 OP is probably SS86 OP. I would be very surprised if movie 8 happens next year or even in the next two years given ROTB's poor performance.
