Next year marks the 40th anniversary of the 86 film, so with Studio Series being where that subline lives, it basically takes over most of the line. 2/3 of 2026' main retail line will be 86 figures, including Shockwave, Kranix and the seekers, but there will still be two Bayverse figures and three TFOne figures, one of them being Airachnid. There will also be an extra line of 86 movie anniversary figures, including a rerelease of Hound and another release of 86 Optimus Prime but as a leader set.

Man, I was really hoping after a pretty balanced 2025 that 2026 would be good too, but that is bleak. TLK Barricade and Nemesis sound awesome though, the AOE Prime mold is super good so I’ll be happy to see it again.

Hopefully a few more Bayverse listings pop up for 26, we don’t know who the Commander is and it’d be really cool to get DOTM Devcon for that movie’s 15th!

It's pretty crazy to think that the 86 line began with the 35th anniversary of the movie and will still be around to see in the 40th.

I see a lot of repacks and some redecos in that list. I was hoping for a new Shockwave, but I guess another redeco of the Siege "leader" will have to do.

Of course, Soundwave and Astrotrain will be repacks and maybe even redecos, especially Soundwave. His blue should be a little lighter than what we got with the Legacy "leader." As for Astrotrain, we were already told it would be the Siege mold, so it's an easy pass. I was hoping they would rework the material used for that useless tender into a proper piece to cover the back half of the shuttle.

Leader Optimus? The CC without the trailer?

And still no Megatron.

I'm hoping for a SS86 Bee retool for Cliffjumper and a new mold for SS86 Hound. I'll also be curious if the leader Anniversary Optimus will be the SS86 Commander without trailer?

Man, I was really hoping after a pretty balanced 2025 that 2026 would be good too, but that is bleak.

Evan said that 86 offerings would be scaled back after 2026 so there's always the following year to look forward to other movie releases. I'm content with how it worked out because it means getting most all of G1 finished before moving on and I can safely bow out without worry of missing anything important. I really didn't want to have to hang in there for ten years or more just to finish off a handful of things I wanted, as it was it's felt too long in finally getting Powerglide. I only got back into Transformers in 2020 after seeing how much they've improved in sculpt and articulation since the late 90's to early 2K's. So I'm kind of ready for a stopping point and the end of 2026 sounds like a good time.

I meant we still haven't seen or really heard anything from Hasbro regarding that figure. But I understand why that was confusing.

No, it's not done, its just not going to be called out on the packaging as such anymore.

Gamer Edition figures will still be released, but they'll just mention the game they are from, like Devastation Prime,, they are Gamer Edition, but not labeled on the box as such.

I'm not hoping for this, but just an educated guess, its going to be a recolor of Kingdom Rodimus, they have to get him into SS86 somehow.

While I do still think that a DOTM Ironhide release in Studio Series is 100% needed, thanks to the DNA kit for our existing SS Ironhide I have a complete team of DOTM Autobots! This is a huge milestone to actually have complete, DOTM is my favorite piece of Transformers media, but a complete Autobot team has evaded us for more than a decade. Especially with how sparse Bayverse figures are in Studio Series these days, it feels great to have finished a cast! Now we just need Devcon and some Decepticon troopers (and maybe a Driller somehow) to complete the entire DOTM cast!

Bunch of things to catch up on.

First, apelinq is pretty neat, I may like him a bit more than Primal with those weapons and extra armor on the arms






I had my 7th worth anniversary last month, so the annual SS Grimlock day happened. I still BEG for the other 3 as leaders to come!!!






For TF:One, I got Badassatron. Both this and his Prime Changer toy are great representations of Bee. I love it!








I also got a $9 SS86 Bee as well as WFC Ironhide. Bee is OK, alt mode is his strongest mode. Ironhide is incredible, this mold was great as Ratchet and even better as Ironhide. I love it so much










I also finally secured a Double Punch and Hatchet. I am so happy to have my dreads!




I also found a $7.50 Devastation Prime. I hated how this looked when revealed, and passed on it when I first saw it. Then I kinda regretted it, saw it again for cheap, and honestly, this is a really fun little toy, I actually love it







I am expecting my AOE Prime something this week, really looking forward to him. I am hoping Que is in stock soon, haven't seen him yet and I don't want to pay Amazon's slight price increase. I am so excited to finish the SS DotM cast!

I would have probably bought TF One Bee had he been little more metallic gold looking like on film rather than yellow plastic looking. Megatron's legs are too long in relation to his upper body otherwise I liked his look for the film. It just feels too out of proportion to me.

Target had DOTM Soundwave on sale for $15 so I picked that up just because the model of car and he's one of few that look decent in bot mode.

Gotta say, I'm really loving WFC Ironhide. So much fun. So poseable and a really good transformation.
Very very nice figure. Will have to go hunting for Ratchet now.

So not a single Studio Series figure in that new leak appeals to me, which is whatever, BUT what's interesting to keep in mind about it is that we're still missing pretty much an entire wave? I plugged what we have so far into waves based on the product codes and got this:

The grey spots are spots that aren't guaranteed to be a missing figure, since we do get waves with only 3 Deluxes from time to time, and this also isn't accounting for any potential triple Voyager waves like the current Sentinel-Ironhide-Scrapper wave since there's zero guarantee that'll actually happen again.

Weird seeing two different Thundercrackers in the same wave, you'd think they'd want to spread those out a bit. The Leader situation isn't great, 1 new mold, two repaints and a rerelease. Also the lack of GE figures is strange to see, wonder if we'll see any slipped into wave 3. One of the hinted at Transformers 2007 game characters would be nice (the mentioned Shockwave needs to be a leader).

There is the Deluxe Devastation Bee in the A-Level line-up, I just didn't include the A-Level figures here since that exists outside the conventional waves and had nothing to do with what was missing.

I'm aware, but the 2024 and 2025 releases have given us a lot of GE figures so it'd be strange for 2026 to just be one figure that's almost definitely just a slight repaint of the previous A-Level G1 Bee. Maybe there's more Target exclusives planed.

...so minor JTPrime leak update: apparently we're missing way fewer listings than I thought, which makes this wave breakdown very confusing and/or disappointing, because they clarified the ONLY currently missing SS figure is the Commander. Also, the WFC Autobot Soldier that was slated for this year has evidently been pushed to next year, which does make sense since there were only 3 Deluxe spots left for 2025 wave 3 but 4 leaked Deluxes still (86 Scavenger, One Starscream, Concept Art KSI Widow, and WFC Autobot Soldier).

SO assuming nothing has changed internally since JT saw what they saw (which is always possible, see Legacy Override originally being a Hot Rod retool), my best guess is that now those 2026 waves look like this?

Just finished my work on AOE Optimus Prime! This is still SUCH a good figure, the sculpted detail was a joy to pick out!
