Not as much as you might think, the alt mode flames are actually really well done so I didn't have to add too many new ones! Just had to paint over them with the new colors. I did also redo a few inaccurate ones on the front, but overall much less work than the SS-44s I've done xD

With Prime done, I figured it was finally time to tackle AOE Grimlock! I used 8 different colors/paints to recreate the worn and rusted look Grimlock has in the movie, but my favorite detail I added is actually the green Energon on his face from when Prime punches him xD

Grimlock ended up being super fun to paint, I can't wait to work on the other Dinob-. . . oh, right.

Some SS stuff from me to catch up.

First up, despite how bad his photos looked, Devastation Prime is a joy. No idea why, but I really love this guy






Next up, I got the AOE Prime. God, they nailed this guy. This right here is a fantastic figure. So complex in an intelligent way, with both modes being beautiful. And his posing and accessories? Perfection.

He needed more paint, but hot damn, this mold is a strong mold. Great, fantastic figure








I also finally got Que. Bit of a finnicky fellow, but he's still really nice. He doesn't need to be highly posable, given his scientist role, and his arms can do what I want them to, so I am satisfied with him. I also love the headsculpt.







I also got Sentinel at last. Man, for as simple as he is (using RiD2015 seeker magic no less), he is really cool. Love how solid the built in rage mode is too.

He also supposedly has Widowmaker, but is holding off on showing her (only shown her massive boot) for the same reason he's only shown Megatron's arms, supposedly Hasbro is putting pressure on him not to show them.

Over on X Takara Tomy has given us our first real look at the highly anticipated Studio Series Transformers the Movie (SS86) Megatron as well as the last two Constructicons Scavenger and Mix Master, and Transformers One Starscream and Elita-1. They didn't say when the full reveals would be coming, just that they'd be "soon", but hopefully we can look forward to a full reveal next week!

Kinda bummed there’s no Widowmaker since that’s the only one I’m interested in, but hopefully we see her soon! The leaks so far look great, I think it’s super cool they went with the orange McLaren from AOE as the alt mode!

I'd be more happy with a megatron that turns into a monkey. But ever since monkeys have been mishandled by human kind and the king of pop, children can no longer enjoy the pleasures that 80s kids once knew. You can't just put an orange safety cap on a monkey and call it socially acceptable.

I'm definitely happy with how Megatron looks, at least from what can be seen in that image. Does anyone think images of the whole figure will get leaked before June 10th?

And since there's not a really thread for it, I'm also pretty excited for the new Dramatic Capture set! With having the Triple Takevoer set and seeing how good Starscream is, I'll probably end up keeping Thundercracker, but the highlight for me is Reflector... And knowing it will be the most show-accurate decos makes this an instant buy for me. Also nice that it shouldn't be over $100.

We have pictures of Studio Series Concept Art Widowmaker! (Reportedly going by KSI Widow on the packaging due to copyright)

For those unfamiliar, Widowmaker is a concept character from Age of Extinction who eventually became Stinger by the time of the final film. She has an extensive amount of concept art, some of which varies pretty significantly. There is one key difference with this figure compared to the concept art and that is the alt mode: rather than use the Pagani Huayra, Widowmaker turns into a licensed orange McLaren. This vehicle actually appears with some of the other KSI vehicles in AOE, though its robot mode is not seen on-screen.

Despite the alt mode change, Widowmaker still sports similar kibble management to one of her concept art designs, with the headlights on the shoulders and the alt mode doors trailing behind them.

The figure is largely based off this piece of concept art, particularly with the headlight shoulders, blades on the forearms, and leg detailing:

-No AOTP Titan in 2026. That's because Studio Series is getting its first Titan instead. AOTP will have 2 Commanders instead.

Well son of a b!tch, Hastak really may have me reeled-in to 2027…
First and mainly, for SS86 Soundwave…. Why in the world he isn’t part of the line-up for 2026 is baffling.
But also, if one of the CC figures for AotP is Hot Spot, assuming there would be 1-2 Protectobots in ‘27, that would also keep me in the game. I’m ready to ditch the CW set. I’m hoping for a new set of Predacons and a Predaking, but after getting Menasor, Devastator, and Bruticus, I’m assuming they want to get another Autobot combiner released.

SS86 Blitzwing seems really pointless. I’ll be almost shocked if somehow that’s better than the Triple Takeover version.
I love that Cyclonus mold so much, if the SS86 figure has a more movie accurate deco, I’ll get it and still keep my Kingdom version.
I’m also most likely in for a Comics version of Soundwave, although it’s going to bug me that it’s probably the one last use of the Netflix mold…. Which helps explain why the new SS86 figure isn’t being released until ‘27. I guess the comics version is going to be a ‘maybe’.

Lastly, I’m betting that the Selects Anniversary Megatron is a reformatting version. And yes, I will get that for sure.

Definitely some additional figures to look forward to, but I’m really not happy about putting off my collecting retirement.
