Evasion Prime is a weird one since, in the movie, his truck mode was weathered white/tan, while his robot mode was very faded/weathered versions of his normal red and blue colors. He was basically a Color Changer.

I didn't think these threads would be split and locked the original. I just thought the SS86 should be split off, not 2 whole new threads. Seems a waste of the old thread that could've just had a first post title change.

My opinion though.

Evasion mode Prime could learn some lessons from SS Grimlock and the sparkless Barricade on the weathering

Frankly, one of the main reasons the original SS86 thread that was split off from the main SS thread was merged back into the SS thread in the first place was because people just kept on talking about SS86 in the main SS thread.

I don't see a problem here. It can easily be done. The original voyager and the Takara leader basically turned inside out when transforming.

If they do Evasion mode Prime,I hope they use some of the new engineering tricks learned with Bumblebee Optimus.

Hi, the latest studio series voyager wave had both and 86 bot and a live action bot. With two seperate threads, where would I news the finding? I would like to unlock the main thread to use for news purposes concerning the line. If people want to discuss in seperate threads, that's fine but I can't news in 2 places.
If you have any news, rumours, or hot new sightings to report which you feel should be front paged,

Was he? I thought that the colors were still pretty similar between his truck mode and robot mode? Though, I think if they try again, they could maybe try to use some of the tricks the original one used because while I never picked up the mold because the only repaint I thought looked good was the Movie the Best one, and that's way too much money on the secondary market, from my understanding, it was kind of an advanced form of shell-former where the robot mode details were stuffed in the cab, then when he transformed the cab details were stuffed into the robot mode chest with practically none of the parts being the real truck mode parts

Unlock the main thread foor news and if people want to talk about specific things they these threads.

Or we could like D-Maximal_Primal said, and use the main thread for movie toys talk and have a separated topic for SS86.

While I do not collect SS, I do enjoy seeing them in store, as sort of a mental checklist. I've seen pretty much every standard release. Most recently RoTF BB (74) part of the Buzzworthy line, and just recently saw the new wave with 70 & 71.

I haven't seen 72 (BB Starscream) yet.

Also, I find it odd that we are pretty much caught up with what's been officially announced. No #73 yet. As much as I enjoy the Generations mainline, I know fans of SS have been patient, and hopefully the TF day in May on Pulse will have some new reveals for y'all.

That is odd. So who was Starscream packaged with? I'm guessing it was Hot Rod? (cuz good guys sell moar). Personally I see Scourge sell far better than Hot Rod, (unless Scourge was shortpacked, which may be why I've only seen him twice) and solid cases of BB Starscream probably would have sold just fine.

Yeah it was Hot Rod. As for Scourge, he is getting a Sweep to go with him so there won't be need to troop build Scourge proper. Of course, that all falls on deaf ears to people who have no clue a sweep is coming. Which brings us to your other question about us being caught up. I've noticed for a couple years now that we are often caught up on the SS line. It's always the line where we don't know what's next, officially. Like when the 86 rumours were really gaining some steam (like with the Walmart listing), we were caught up on what was announced.
Traditionally, toy fair would have given us the next batch of reveals for Studio Series with anouncements for multiple lines, but since we only had a half hour slot from Pulse day, we didn't get any SS (nor Cyberverse). So yeah, we'll have to wait till may for official reveals, which granted is only 1 month away. We'll see if anyone else aside from Slag gets leaked till then.

Oh and speaking of his eventual Reveal, his wavemate is BAYVERSE Grindor with Ravage. So yeah, this is one line that has characters from all Transformers films.

Not to be "that guy", but I guess you could say, all Theatrical films released to a general worldwide audience.

There is the BWII film, which was only released in Japan, and the TF Prime Predacons Rising film, which was released on Television, then on Physical Media. (though it may have had a very smalll theatrical run in some foreign markets...??) * I have no evidence of this, I just know it does happen on occasion. All of Disney's Tinkerbell direct-to-video films were released theatrically in Japan, and the My Little Pony Movie from 2013 (not the more recent one), which came out around the same time as Predacons Rising, had a very short theatrical run in some places.

Anyway. I'd say there is zero chance we will ever see the SS line ever include toys from those two films, especially when Generation Selects seems to be a much better fit for such things. Below is a screenshot of my Vudu Transformers films category ;) only one film missing, but I do have a fansubbed version, and it is free to watch on Youtube last time I checked.

Well yeah, they did the same with TF:TM cutting it into 5 episodes "days", and having to add the Stan Bush "The Touch" music video to pad out the runtime for Puppet Prime episodes in 1988. If you add those episodes to the previously existing 98, you get 103, and add in Scramble City you get 104, so Rescue Bots is technically only TIED for longest running TF Animated series. ;)

I think the idea mentioned earlier with a common news thread and separate discussion threads would be great. I don't know if the live-action thread can be un-merged, though.

For just that "Season 5" broadcast. The episode format of Predacons Rising became its default format. You don't see the "Season 5" episodes of G1 airing with the rest of the show in any of its normal reruns.

The likely problem with that approach is the whole front page setup of Seibertron with the news articles intended to feed directly into the forums and encourage discussion. If there is a common news thread there are really only 2 options, 1) keep it locked and then put a link to the proper discussion threads in the article, which would represent a change for some users who mainly/only access the forums from the news articles; or 2) leave the news forum and the separate discussion forms open, but that would just lead to everyone just commenting in the news thread.

Edit: also keep in mind, some news will affect both the live movies and SS86 such as when split cases are found at retail like the current voyager wave and the next leader wave.

This, plus we don't need three threads to discuss one line of figures. If hasbro had just made ss86 a subline then we probably wouldn't be in this mess. As Will pointed out, it's the same as we split Kingdom news because of G1 and BW (or G1 and Unicron Trilogy etc etc)

Unraveling?
(sorry for the bad-dad pun)

I kinda skipped over this in my post earlier but any pun is a good one if you ask me xD

Anyway, I don't think I've talked about Sideswipe very much. Sideswipe is great! He comes with both his swords and guns, and I really like how his chest pieces are on ball joints so you can move them for poses like you see on the CGI model.

I will say that it's kinda cool to see how backpack folding has progressed since Sideswipe was released - it's super impressive how much kibble Dino is able to fold into such a small space as compared to Sideswipe. Sideswipe's backpack isn't terrible by any means, but Dino definitely handles it much better.

While I'm good with my DOTM version, I wonder how the ROTF version will handle the extra roof kibble.

The DotM Sideswipe is definitely a sleeper hit of SS and deservers way more talking about. He is such a fun figure with a very involved transformation and he has all of his accessories! And then with your incredible paint work on top, it puts him at or better than masterpiece level! Fantastic work!

On side note, I finally got my DNA Design DK-20 Devastator kit from BBTS, so my Devastator will finally be complete. Sadly I don't have access to it until Friday, but I truly can not wait to finally have my prized collection piece finished off.

Also, Thank you for splitting SS86 off to its own thread. It has been long over due. I can't even count how many times I have come on to check the thread hoping to see some movie discussions only to see it spammed with talk of how hot rod is not a voyager, kup is ugly, G1 dinobot talk, or just other stuff.

I'm glad you got your thread back, but all of that was on topic discussion - not spam.

Thank you!

Be sure to post pics of the Devastator kit, it looks awesome from what I've seen.
