You don't get that Hasbro is trying to avoid any political controversy that could accuse them of being anti-police? What is there not to get about that? Hasbro is not going to release a children's toy with a statement suggesting "the police are evil" because that would put Hasbro in a bad light.Rtron wrote:ZeroWolf wrote:Rtron wrote:They ommited the "to punish and slave" Decal on Barricade again, ugh. These don't seem as de-decoed as their Autobot counterparts, tough, outside of Barricade, and Starscream who's missing some paint apps on the face. It also feels sort of nostalgic that Brawl and Bonecrusher aren't included, since they're the ones who didn't feature in any promotional material back in 2007. They didn't even have any of those weird promotional renders!
I have a feeling that omission is probably on purpose given the current sentiments about the police. I think its highly likely that if the 07 movie was made today, that slogan wouldn't have appeared at all.
I don't get this argument. Current sentiment is that cops are bad. Barricade is a bad cop. If anything, it makes more sense now than ever.

They were still doing it as recently as 2018. Are they trying to not make a statement or are they cutting costs? This is the same box set that couldn't be bothered to use the improved articulated Grindor hands on Blackout after all. Let's see if there's any real difference between this Barricade and the two pack.

Have you forgotten about the "MAGA Jazz" controversy from Power of the Primes?Rtron wrote:Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:You don't get that Hasbro is trying to avoid any political controversy that could accuse them of being anti-police? Exactly! Cost cutting makes way more sense, since they are also making more toys of female and lgbt characters and that seems to fly. And they are saying THIS policeman is evil, not that all police are evil. Jeez, sometimes I really don't get USA culture. In what normal planet could you accuse a company of anything because of a label on a toy? It's a cool turn of phrase that gives the toy character. And corrupt policemen have been a part of children's fiction since forever, look at old school Batman, for example.

But MAGA Jazz made a specific reference to a specific group, that the designer attempted to hide on purpose, which clearly states the intent of putting that there. This is a phrase that I'm pretty sure MICHAEL BAY thought up, of all people. And it's an ironic turn of phrase that is specific to the franchise, NOT a parroted rallying cry from a specific political faction. It's an entirely different context.

Should also be mentioned that it was a rogue designer that stuck that on there, it wasn't done with Hasbro's approval and they quickly fixed it with a running change for the later wave when they found out.

So not with the ball joint, but the connection to the back does like to come untabbed.

Q: For Gamer Edition, is it limited to just WFC or will FOC (Dinobots, Bruticus, etc) and all the Transformers games be included?
A: Pretty much all of it. Think the clear winner will probably be, everybody wants some Devastation stuff, we need to figure out how to do some cell shading for it. Continuing from WFC, think FOC is on the table. Team has even joked about doing Mystery of Convoy, doing some sort of dot deco or something like that. We have the Ultra Magnus now and we have the Rodimus from Kingdom, it’s like why not. Why not some N64 Transmetals too? We can get some of that in there, there’s a lot of options. If it’s been in a video game, we have the opportunity to look at it, taking a little bit of a cue from what the Star Wars team did with their gamer stuff. There’s no licensing issues, we own all of that, it’s all on the table for us. But with the live action movie stuff, there’s always that stuff going on, you still have to deal with Paramount and the licensors.
Q: Overall, what are the Studio Series fig you’d most like to do?
A: For Bayverse – Sizing and scale wise, movie Ratchet needs to be a Voyager class.
For 86 – Definitely Optimus Prime.
For Rise of the Beasts – Would like to do Unicron’s minions, like the Scorponoks.
