In my opinion, the point of the franchise is robots that transform. Is it used for disguise sometimes? Sure. But often not for long as humans become aware of them.
In any event, the trailers look alright but then they did for AoE and that turned out to be a steaming pile. As the series has progressed, I admit to have lost interest as the films seem to get progressively worse. I may go see this. I may not. I've not decided yet. Saying that, I still adore the first film and enjoy the third.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

I meant that it's not interesting when everyone has a Cybertronian mode ala Wfc/Foc it made sense for Megatron to have a Cybertronian mode due to his character but even then his alt modes looked like garbage plus his TLK while Cybertronian still looks like a human vehicle.
Lost Light and the other comics are good stories but funny enough their not good "Transformers" stories because they don't do anything remotely like Transformers such as just acting like people in superhero comics with them almost never Transforming and even when they do their alt modes are boring or resemble Earth vehicles more then alien ones (my point).
Kurona wrote:See, I do actually disagree with that to an extent; because part of what makes MTMTE/LL so good is that they're not just good stories which happen to take place in the Transformers universe - they're stories that could only happen in Transformers. Their physiology and biology and the very fact they transform take huge precedence as plot points in many storylines.
I do agree to some degree about the alt-modes not being great though. I like some like Ultra Magnus', but then with Rodimus I just find myself wishing his car mode looked a bit more like the cheesy alt-mode he has in the movie and Titans Return and whatnot.
In any case this is still probably off-topic so I'll stop here, I just wanted to say my piece~

Lemme just ask this. Was it boring when everyone turned into either an alien animal or a living vehicle in Beast Machines?Deadput wrote:My original point is that when everyone has a Cybertronian mode it's kinda boring

But, to steer back the subject of TLK, at least there are still plenty of Earthen altmodes in this movie.

Primarily arbitrarily because of how different it was, much like how the "trukk not munky" crowd initially derided Beast Wars out of how different that show was. Beast Machines is the most mature (in the correct sense of the word), one of the darkest (in a meaningful way), and the most philosophically-deep, insightful, and thought-provoking TF cartoon we've ever gotten. I love it.Deadput wrote:Plus wasn't Beast Machines poorly received overall or something?
Naturally, but the original complaints were about the presence of Cybertronian altmodes among the Earth modes, which those who raised said complaints don't want. But I'm with you in knowing that it's at least not all Cybertronian altmodes.Deadput wrote:But anyways of course there would be Earth modes in a film that takes place on planet Earth.

Well, if his toys are any indication, yes.

Cause the toys are always movie accurate, right?

“They surround us, they form part of our lives, and now it is the time to put them on the place they deserve to accomplish an important mission because they are the key to save human race and winning the final battle. The time has come to fight and build the definitive Optimus Prime together.”

We'll have to agree to disagree on this point. TLL and TAAO are FANTASTIC Transformer stories and I've not seen any complaint's about their alt modes until your post.
