AoE was the worst. I don't even own it.
You know what would be a better way to make Transformers more relatable to people? Maybe you should let them have actual personalities.
Freakin' Rescue Bots gets that right, and it's meant to be accessible by Preschoolers. And yet the big-money summer blockbuster series either doesn't understand or doesn't care that the Transformers are the main characters in most versions.
And yeah, I walked out of AoE wishing I'd never walked in.
They had personalities.
In just the films, I mean, not in any external media.
(I'll ask nothing of the KSI Prototypes as they get a pass for deliberately being personality-less drones)
I was talking about AOE. But Sideswipe always struck me as gleefully brash. Kind of like Crosshairs, but more reserved and more reliable. And the Dinobots obviously have some kind of code or mindset that draws them to follow the strongest. I think they were steeds for the Knights, but it's not made abundantly clear.

Yeah I had caught that, dont know why everyone suddenly jumped on this as a cue to bash the previous films. And in AOE Optimus actually had a personality, he was **** pissed and also dissapointed in humanity! Hound and Crosshairs also had personalities, quite different ones too. You can see how one was more keen on helping humans than the other. They seemed to at least have as much personality as the characters on any given episode from the first two seasons of G1.
Anyways, about this new Optimus, this is the toy I am now most curious of. Not the one I want the most, but definitely the one that intrigues me. My only complaint about the generations line is that its quite predictable, and thats kind of the point. The gimmick is universal and the designs are based on pre-existing toys (which is the whole point of a line based on G1). But this here is them bringing it to the next level of engineering and I am super excited to see how its accomplished. I want to know where that back of the truck goes. Oh man, cant wait to see actual pics of the toy and discover its transformation.

What movie did you even watch?
Here is a small list of some of the Transformers in AoE that had personalities:
-Optimus Prime
-Bumblebee
-Lockdown
-Ratchet (that scene was sad.)
-Galvatron (crazy)
-Hound
-Drift (though, they didn't pay as much attention to him)
-Crosshairs
-Brains
And those are the main guys. I see no room for complaining. In fact, AoE was way better than the last ones when it comes to personalities. Optimus Prime being angry at the humans for killing Ratchet and starting to lose his desire to protect them is one good example. Any way you look at it, at least Optimus Prime and the other Autobots (for the most part) have more 3 dimensional personalities than in G1.
So it's not that they don't have personality. The problem is that they focus too much on the humans, and leave less time for character development of the Transformers. If we could get more moments of the Transformers interacting with each-other and building connections rather than the humans, it would be a lot better in my opinion. What do we get the toys of? The humans, or the Transformers?

? What's that got to do with anything? Did either of the new candidates put in their manifesto that shutting down Toy Fair would be a priority or something?
You read too much into what I say.
Why shouldn't she? You posted stupid, off-topic stuff that serves no purpose, so, one would assume you had some hidden meaning behind it.
On a similar note, stay on topic please
I should have clarified that I was saying there's a lot happening in the near future that I can't be involved in. But, I suppose that was too much of an enigma for everyone to understand. (Really, that was something that I should've clarified instead of leaving it to interpretation. Shyamalan anyone?)
And fine. I'm done now.

We was still kinda trying to get himself together for a while from what I remember. He at least wasn't his normal self for a while. In the previous movies he was more about intimidation and domination, while him as Galvatron seemed more "I gonna kill you! RAHR! I HAVE NO SOUL!"

I agree. Considering the source material is an armored knight with no kibble and human proportions turning into a modern Earth truck I think it does a fantastic job of pulling that off. And if this is a Voyager then that's pretty amazing as it looks even better than the AOE Leader.
I imagine we're seeing this so soon because it's a first edition or whatever that will be released months ahead of the rest of the line.

Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Here's to hopes that Retail will have the common sense this coming Summer not to let this goofy line interfere with the highly anticipated Generations TR waves releasing around the same time (Overlord! Trypicon, etc).

Any chance its just a roughly painted prototype? Upper thighs don't match the lower thighs.

It is a test figure, yes, but the paint is made to look like the released version, as we know from the paint apps guide. So dont expect anything else aside from how the light will be reflected and the shade of the colours.

On the plus side, if this is a Voyager and easy enough to disassemble, I might have found a candidate for converting into Nemesis Prime.
