After playing around with Chromedome for a while, I think Punch/Counterpunch could be done well. I was thinking of him having two titan masters, one for each faction, which would make them look a lot better than trying to cram even two faces on a regular Transformer head. Taking Chromedome for example, while one head is on Punch, Counterpunch titan master could stay in the cockpit. I really just want an updated generations Punch since I still use the G1 figure in my CHUG collection. He is the last G1 figure I use as a makeshift CHUG version.

There is a third option. One that would most effectively require a new mold, but whom is a character from the same era as a fair portion of the TR toyline characters:

Punch-Counter Punch would work well if they missed off the pointless giant guns and gave him two Titanmasters. one good one evil something like Chromedome could transform differently too - though not perfectly so.

I'm convinced i'm right about the techspec sticker thing happening - or at least being intended when a bonus sticker sheet comes out for Titans Returns.

So many original Headmaster types retain a movable chest part giving you some where to put the sticker still.

Before anyone says... yes, I know the rumours say he'll be getting a whole new original mold in wave 5 or something.

But after a friend brought it up... does anyone here have the digibash skills to redeco Hardhead into Perceptor with the headmaster being a non-helmeted Twincast?

I wondered about that. I could see no practical use for opening of the chest. I wondered if it was pretooling for beast combiners. Also, is it just me, or does WW's chest piece look like painted die cast? (I don't think it is, but I cannot tell for sure...)

I still think he'd be a great pre-tool of a Wreck Gar. Just describe him as a fellow Unicron devotee alongside Scourge and Cyclonus or something.

I half expected Takara's Galvatronus to be made up of Cyclonus, Scourge, Hook, Line, and Sinker with Sideways as the chest piece.

Ha! I didn't look at the instructions, so I figured it's sole purpose was to help make the torso transformation easier. Looking at the instructions now I see that it's not even mentioned.
I like your pretooling theory though.

And, I don't think it's die cast, but looking at it and the way the paint sits on it, I can see how one would think that.

Funny you brought him up. A reviewer wrote that the non-helmeted Blaster looks like another incarnation of his: Binaltech Asterisk Broadblast, a redeco of Binaltech Skids.

Funny you brought him up. A reviewer wrote that the non-helmeted Blaster looks like another incarnation of his: Binaltech Asterisk Broadblast, a redeco of Binaltech Skids.

I see a few parallels, but it doesn't look in any way like an homage to be.

Interesting thing to note: Something that bugged me a while back was why Blaster has a titanmaster that in head mode had its own helmet, and is obviously meant to look okay on a smaller figure; whereas with Soundwave, it looks like you just ripped the face and brains of his head out of the helmet. I think personally that both Blaster and Soundwave had the larger faces, and Blaster's just got changed later. Know why? Because we got prototype images of Blaster with a different head. I think they just decided to not do the same change on Soundwave.



Are you guys in the same camp as me that likes the original head, and wishes they didn't change it?

I don't really like that head; looks really squashed and doesn't look like anything tbh. I'm glad they changed it to what looks like Perceptor, that's way more fun to me.

The old one looks worse without the helmet, but just like Soundwave, it improves the helmeted head a whole lot more.

The old one looks more like he fits in his helmet. The new one looks like a 5-year-old version of himself trying to wear the helmet. Also the new one's face is wedged quite deeply in the helmet, and has way too much room in the front. Soundwave however, looks just like a regular head-sculpt. It doesn't even look like a titanmaster. The old Blaster head I also remember was like Soundwave's as far as filled space. I can't find an image though.

They really shot themselves in the foot by spreading the Headmaster gimmick across three size classes. Either the face is too big on its own, or too small within its own helmet.

Speaking of changed heads.....didn't they also do that with Galvatron coz i'm sure it's slightly different from the prototype.........to the released product.

The Rebirth parts 1 & 2 were on this morning and it occurred to me that Sunbow's inconsistency with Highbrow's robot mode offered a simple and obvious solution to the loose propellers behind his forearms:

Add a hinge to fold the wings back.

I wish the designers had thought of that.

In hindsight? I think it would have been better had Voyager on up (excluding Fortress Maximus) had their own built-in heads but designed so that they can be "hijacked" by the smaller Titan Masters when their head is not deployed.

Instead of making this another line about partnered up Transformers (I've never been clear on why the "Titan Masters" name is any better than or distinct from "Headmasters"), it would have been cool if they'd envisioned this more as a line about body hijacking (ie. "Titan Bandits") as that would allow for built in heads as an alternative option (ie. flip the head down to reveal a Titan Port) and make mismatched heads deliberately goofy by design since it'd be about frankensteined heads possessing mismatched bodies.
