I suppose you could if you really wanted to claim they were also normal all be small robots or also human or nebulans in armour.

Broadside is an instabuy.
Kickback is an instabuy.
Hot Rod and Triggerhappy are instabuys.
But I'm just not sure about Sixshot. On one hand, his alt-modes look fun as hell, and he's a character I've wanted for so long. on the other hand, his robot mode just looks so damn dorky. He's got these big Rescue Heroes feet, and these skinny looking arms, and I'm not in love with his giant bandana forehead. I'm so torn.
I just feel like if I get him, I'll hate having him on my shelf more than I hate having Leader Class Armada Megatron on my shelf. Although I suppose he could use some company.

He's basically a more articulated version of the G1 toy, which also had those feet. I personally love it.

Also, the bandana is only visible outside of Robot Mode. His helmet covers up the bandana so it's only a problem if you for some reason don't have the helmet on or you want a bandanaless Sixshot taking over Scourge.

Re: Transformers Titans Return Product Reveals, News, Updates, Rumors, Leaks and more!
I'm one of those who are pretty slow when it comes to getting the toys.
Got myself a Titans Return Alpha Trion recently. As a toy, he is awesome.
His tech specs card is even more off-the-charts than the promo tech specs released earlier.
Every stat is already infinite for Alpha. And the boosts Sovereign give are additionally pegged at infinity. On top of that, the powers he gives are unknown. And immeasurable. Officially, it would appear that he has edged off Unicron and Primus, and is now on top of the TF foodchain.
Perhaps he is the reason why Galvatron needs Nucleon if the Decepticons are to have any chance. I pity him, because it looks as if the war is already over, should Alpha Trion so chooses.

Catching up real quick:
These Decepticon leader class figures are gonna kill me. They are as awesome as the RiD line with its cons. I love them and need them.
Topspin: please let there be a Twintwist to go with you and my wreckers shelf. I'm excited for the pair.

Okay, I didn't realize he had an actual bandana style forehead on the Titan Master, I just think the helmet looks like a bandana. It's got that great big featureless white iceberg where a forehead should be.
And I do realize that he's basically an articulated version of the G1 toy, but the original pulls off the feet way better IMO. I was just hoping that after seeing Terminus Hexatron, Hasbro would've gone the Thrilling 30 Springer route and made this guy balls out awesome. And again, this is my own opinion, I'm just not feelin it.

Don't worry man, I feel ya. The new figures are awesome, but I wish they did have a little bit more stylization to them. As basically redos of the G1 toys with articulation and considering they are rarer characters, they have done well, but I really liked the stylization with Springer and others much more, so I agree with you there

What also should be kept in mind is that this is only the second proper modern Sixchanger, after CR Gigatron (or RiD Megatron), and this was thought impossible at one point: during the development of Animated, Sixshot was planned with all 6 modes, but was replaced by the simpler Blitzwing.
It's good to see them try with the security of the trodden path, maybe a later one will have a more updated look and transformation scheme. Can't wait to see Quickswitch.

To be fair, Springer didn't really have stylisation to him. As much as a lot of the current Generations figures are just straight-up the G1 toys, Springer was just straight-up his LSOTW design.

I think he means just the 'generations flair' in general and used springer as a 'good' interpretation in general (a better one might be classics cyclonus vs cw cyclonus maybe), all sleek and sexy, whereas this sixshot is cubes everywhere that turns into various bricks - I am not impressed, I'm not getting him
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

Might have to wait until Power of the Primes before it actually happens, though. He's one that can transform with the head attached thanks to the helmet, right?

But isnt Sjyshadow the pretool for Overlord already?

I think he's open-ended enough to have some options for longevity
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a thunderwing out of him, but I do want to see what they do with overlord, especially since the jet will be completely different in order to hang off of his shoulder

I know Hasbro really isn't concerned about even numbers of good vs. bad character. CW Leader Class had only Ultra-Magnus vs 5 Decepticons to come from 2 molds.
However with PM Prime being the second use of UM, every Leader Class toy for the time being appears to be getting at least two mold uses save one...Sixshot. However with some hints at using characters from Victory (Platinum Liokaiser, BlackSky Shadow etc...) Who here thinks there is potential for Sixshot to be repainted (and slightly remolded) as Greatshot? I think it would be a great (no pun intended) addition to the Autobot Leader Class figures, and seems like it would be a slam dunk for Hasbro. Just need to remold the "wolf" head to a Rhino, and remold a few other parts, but I think it would be awesome.

Rumours say that a redecoed Sixshot as Quickswitch is gonna be in a 'Speed' boxset along with Nautica, the Autobot Clones and a Voyager and Titan Master I can't remember off the top of my head.
The fact they're using him for Quickswitch annoys me when his Robot Mode silhouette is completely different as are a lot of his modes
If there's some retooling they could maybe get a drill tank out of the car, but...Greatshot doesn't seem awfully likely from Hasbro but I could totally see Takara doing it at least. I mean really what does he need? New Titan Master face, easy; new wolf head, easy, new chest wings, easy... the new shoulders could cause a little difficulty with transformation but they could work it out.

Yeah, they were completely different toys in the original series, doesn't make much sense to me either, other than the toy commercial allusion that he was "Sixshot's son" which I don't believe was ever referenced in any other fiction...

Hell to the Scream
Not sure if that was what Nemesis was going for, but that was what I was going for. The 'Generations flair' made some figures like Springer so much fun. they could have made him a blocky update of his G1 toy with articulation, but they went that LSOTW look, and it totally nailed it, and the generations Springer is considered by many the best option ever given to us

Even when they're giving us homages and references to such Japanese-original characters as Liokaiser, Lione/Sawback, Shuffler, Stripes, White Leo (homaged by Daburu), a Diaclone pilot (homaged by Diac), Twincast (name inspiration for Twin Cast), Soundblaster (name reference), Jack (homaged by Revolver), and Black Shadow/Sky Shadow? With all these, it really looks like Hasbro has finally opened the door to all kinds of Japanese-original characters to the point that practically nothing seems off the table anymore.Kurona wrote:Greatshot doesn't seem awfully likely from Hasbro

Just doesn't make sense to do a somewhat obscure character like him first compared to a much more popular character like Thunderwing. It does fit Hasbro's MO of doing unexpected characters first (Sentinel Prime, Laser Prime, Megatron) before their intended use (Astrotrain, Octane, Blitzwing). Might have to wait until Power of the Primes before it actually happens, though. He's one that can transform with the head attached thanks to the helmet, right?

But isnt Sjyshadow the pretool for Overlord already?
I think he's open-ended enough to have some options for longevity![]()
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a thunderwing out of him, but I do want to see what they do with overlord, especially since the jet will be completely different in order to hang off of his shoulder
I can imagine that it's not a matter of retooling, but one of alternate transformation. Or even maybe just partial retooling (for a peg hole on the shoulder). I can imagine them using the same nosecone "weapon" to attach to Overlord's shoulder on that version.

I picked him up today too. Couldn't believe he was still at Target. It was the last wave 3 figure they had. He's been there since last Tuesday. Got him for $8.52 after 15% off Cartwheel and 5% off with the Red Card.
He's frakkin' fantastic! Such an awesome alt mode. Makes me think Topspin is going to be a retool of him now over Highbrow.

For those finding the wave 3 titan masters, I highly recommend this pairing of titan master to bulk:

2 lions that can run together, that then transform into in a ancient warrior with a lion shield.
Alpha Trion and Lione/Sawback. Great pair that I highly recommend, especially together

Maybe you've forgotten what the silhouette looked like?

There are barely any shared parts just in the shape of the jet. Overlord has no real wings, his arms make up the entire sides of the jet and are entirely different from Sky Shadow's. Since he has no wings the back of the jet that the wings connect to also has to be new. The cockpit is at least mostly different, now with fins on the side and no drone. In the rear Sky Shadow's tail fin, and possibly that whole section it's connect to, is missing. He'll also require a new chest and head so any shared parts are going to be minimal when it comes to the jet portion.
Meanwhile the only thing needed to turn Sky Shadow into Thunderwing is a new chest and head in bot mode. This is why I think of him more like a Thunderwing pre-tool since they share about 85% of parts while SS and Overlord share mainly the legs/tank.

It's no secret we'll get an Overlord based on Sky Shadow, or that Sky Shadow is the "secondary" design for the overall Tank/Jet model (the Titan Master being based on one of Overlord's Godmasters is the big giveaway). Calling them "pretools" may seem like hasty (and incorrect) naming, if all they share is some parts and transformation, but pairing them is the most logical thing to do, no matter the naming.
Thunderwing hasn't been alluded to in the rumors, let alone officially, but I suspect he was on the designers' brains for a while before deciding on Black Shadow. The main advantage, aside from the niche factor? In G1, the faces between his shell and inner robot are roughly the same, plus he already has the helmet thing going on. Thunderwing has two distinct faces, forcing a choice: go with either one (the shell face would look... odd...), or make the helmet surround the whole head like on G1 Black Zarak, defeating the purpose of the Titan Master gimmick.
I had that very same idea in my mind.
