I feel like the jet mode could be the best jet I've ever seen and yet I'd still pass on Broadside. Neither of the other modes do much of anything for me.

I feel like no matter how hard they tried, Broadside's carrier or jet mode would have to suffer somewhat. Personally, I prefer the carrier getting the better mode over the jet, but that's mainly because I enjoy ships a lot more.

I agree. I love the carrier mode, and it was going to be the mode I used more

Has anyone had trouble with stress markers on the joints of Galvatron? I found one crammed in the back of a Wal-Mart shelf a couple weeks ago, and I'm just now noticing that there's small stress marks along the purple plastic where the elbow pins are. Is this just my copy? Or have others had stress mark issues?

The trouble is, you'll be judging it via just the image. At that angle the wings looks a bit wonky. But in hand, it's just right. Also, those wings are what makes the flatbed surface of the carrier. It will, the ship , look even more unbalanced if you widen the "wings".
After owning him a few weeks, if there is a complaint, I'd say its the colors in robot and jet mode that's kind of all over. And his wobbly neck connection.

There might be an even simpler, more sci-fi-based solution: The Jet Mode could be considered a "Space Jet", enabling it to defy the laws of aerodynamics as it would instead serve its function within the vacuum of space rather than Earth's atmosphere. Though, not as one of those smaller, one-man piloted space jets, but more as a giant-sized, multi-personnel, space cruiser/warship/starship-type spacecraft with jet-like attributes in its design.Deadput wrote:For me I'm just going to justify the jet mode as a big heavy bomber type vehicle befitting his role as a Wrecker so while it can fly in the air he can't fly very fast or maneuver in the air that well but the trade off is that he can take a lot more punishment the normal flyers and can dish up ridiculous amounts of damage through artillery and missile bombardments.
Which is why he has small wings and all that junk in the trunk for a better example of what I mean google up a video of a Halo Wars Vulture and watch a little gameplay so he acts like that just a little faster then that since he is an actual jet.
Is this a good enough solution for ya guys?

And if one wanted to go even nerdier, one could consider the Carrier Mode to instead be a "Space Carrier", in a similar vein to Space Battleship Yamato, but with the dual purpose of functioning both in space and on planetary oceans.

But that becomes very redundant with Alpha Trion who is far closer to filling that Space Battleship Yamato role in terms of scapecraft.

A heavy bomber space jet that also works in Earths atmosphere with massive amounts of firepower such as torpedoes, missiles and lasers so pretty much a more jet looking Y-Wing with more options for weaponry besides torpedoes and a couple of space lasers.
But is this too much power for one single Autobot to have at his disposal even if he is a triple changer that's part of the wreckers I mean what would happen if someone like him used his abilities for the evulz?

ok I had absolutely zero interest in Broadsides until you all started talking about Space Battleship Yamato, which is still love to this day. Which is odd because if they do recolor/deco him as Tidal Wave (either in purple or green) he could double as a Gamilon cruiser

Well yeah them sharing a lot of molding was the reasoning for the joke.
So are the two actually the same mold in the vein of Scourge and Highbrow or do they just share some parts such as for example Blurr and Chromedome's knees?
So Alpha Trion is Space Space Battleship Yamato while Broadside is Space Battleship Tomato also known as B.O.B the Tomato.

Problem with that is......Starscream! coz in one G1 episode he flew through space in his earth jet mode, as for carrying multiple people....in War Dawn he carried many(or at least more than that type of jet would normally carry) in which he jettisoned....mid air.
+ the cockpit is too big to be a giant sized space cruizer(unless it were somehow supersized like Starscream was in Transformers Cybertron)

Huh? Scourge and Highbrow are not the same mold. They share a few parts and some inside engineering, but that's it. Repaints are figures that share the same mold.

They do share the same base skeleton though just most parts are completely different it's more of a retool then say the people who say Chromedome is a retool of the Streetwise/Prowl mold which do not share any parts.
If it has the same transformation and skeleton I consider it to be a heavy retool in the same vain as Springer and Sandstorm.
The guy who made the mold said it was a retool anyways unless my reading of the translation was wrong.

I was waitng for someone too point out that Broadside comes with those tiny Aerialbots, and say, "they can't fly in space". So my answer could be Starscream, or Jetfire, or transforming sentient alien robots from space.

The same would go for BroadBackSide's big bootied jet mode.
Smooth move Stu!

I'm loving most of these figure reveals! The only ones that I'm wary of are Krok and Broadside. I've seen a review that said Krok has the exact same problems as Skullsmasher with the leg joints, so unfortunately I'm going to have to pass on him. It's a shame considering that I love adding IDW characters to my collection, but not if he has the same problems as Skullsmasher.
As for Broadside, that jet mode is pretty horrendous. I'm sorry, but it really does look ugly to me. I feel like they could have found a way to make it look just a bit better. His aircraft carrier mode, however, is absolutely beautiful.
I think out of all of these Deluxes, I'm gonna have to snag Quake. I don't like the green on Hardhead, which is why I passed on him, and Quake's color scheme is just so much better in my opinion. Seriously, it's one badass looking toy.
