hoping they would fix that :-?

I actually kind of like his guns not being mirrored copies of each other. It sets them apart from other TR weapons - kind of like Scourge's guns did - and while they don't match if you sit them under the wings it's not the end of the world. They're still less unbalanced-looking than the CW jets ended up with, and if we're lucky there might even be a central mounting point so they can sit symmetrically at the middle of the jet, instead of one on each wing.

...Though given how Triggerhappy fared with vehicle weapon-mounting options, I'm hesitant to be optmistic on that last part.

Yes i have Scourge and i'll be happy having different weapons for Slugslinger  :-P
Still Playing Fall Of Cybertron, it's still a great sequel!

I'm... honestly very, very confused by all of these complaints. Misfire and Slugslinger look completely different to both each other and Triggerhappy - especially their jet modes; those are friggin' sweet - until certain parts which are the same... which looked the same on the original toys and show models, so that's a very strange thing to complain about.

Honestly the only problem I have is the shade of colours chosen. As far as I'm concerned, otherwise these are two fantastic-looking new molds that have a bit in common with previous figures if you're really looking that hard.

I Expect Astrotrain will be re-issused on the next wave together with Blitzy and Octone (Regional name, kinda more like it) :CON: :CON: :CON:
Also, is he available online, i mean for Astrotrain, and i always see him out of stock :(

I'm not sure if Astrotrain is available online, but I doubt that he'd be re-released in Wave 5 sadly. As far as I can remember, Voyager case assortments consist of 4 figures and have (up til now at least) had a maximum of two different figures per wave. To add an Astrotrain re-release in with the other guys would mean that either Octone or Blitzwing would have to be packed at 1-per-case, or even crazier, each of them at one-per-case and Astrotrain at double that. Either way two of the three would end up with half as many figures on the shelves as the third, and that probably wouldn't work out so well - especially if a majority of people already have Astrotrain and so wouldn't be buying him again.

'Course, this is all based on my knowledge of how Voyager cases work which could be entirely wrong, but I'm preeety sure it's correct? Take my reasoning with a grain of salt though, until someone else can confirm that's how it works. ;)

You are quite correct, I'm afraid. Voyager and Leader Class cases usually consist of new figures initially, unless there's only one, in which case a figure from the previous wave is carried over. Also, revisions can occur in which the contents is changed, either by ratio or by switching figures out.

I'm on the I'm happy we're getting these and they look good page. In an ideal world every individual tf would have its unique mould, however these retoolings give enough freshness that doesn't put me off buying a figure like a straight repaint head would.

Now we need the 3 remaining autobot target masters and maybe arcee. I can see crosshairs out of kup, maybe point blank could be retooled from hotrod... sureshot - can't see anything he could be based off but then he could be reused for slapdash
My personal prime collection so far in descending order of how great i reckon the toy is -
FE Prime, Silas Breakdown (Powerizer), Dreadwing (Powerizer), FE Bulkhead, Voyager StarScream (Powerizer), Ratchet, Soundwave, Arcee, Voyager Megatron (Powerizer), Wheeljack, Thundertron (Powerizer), Ultra Magnus (Powerizer), Knockout, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee,Airachnid

If we are getting a titan master Arcee like the rumours say we better get a Sunstreaker even if only a head or a box set thing.

Misfire looks great. Very pink, but great.

Slugslinger looks cool too, but...I actually think the Energon figure looks cooler. Maybe I'll track that down instead. Well, maybe. We'll see. I know Energon Slugslinger has a very fiddly transformation but he looks so damned cool.

Both look great and I'll happily get them both when I see them for £15ish.

As for the complaints, how many times was the original classics seeker mould used? Including retools? I don't remember people crying bloody murder then. If they were straight up repaints, I can understand. But complaining that they shouldn't share any parts, when they have this extensive a retooling so they look completely different? You're kinda coming across as spoiled. It's one thing to say you wished they had all new parts, but to be actively complaining about it? When Triggerhappy is the only use of the mould so far? (Yes, yes, Metalhawk, but he's not out yet either). And that still brings the total to less than the total number of times the classics seeker mould was released in mainstream only.

And for the list of Dead End repaints/retools, you also forgot Flowspade. Or do Takara not count in your list?

I was originally just going off whatever uses I could remember for that list, and the fact that Takara did their own versions did totally slip my mind. But if you want to include all uses of that mold (according to the wiki to make sure I didn't forget anyone this time)...

Dead End, Brake-Neck, Streetwise, Prowl, Smokescreen, G2 Dead End, G2 Brake-Neck, Dustup, Lightsteed (forgot that one!) Bluestreak, Unit-3, TT Dead End, TT Wildrider, TT Streetwise, TT Prowl, and TT Flowspade.

Yyyeeahh, compared to a redeco and two heavy retools (if that) of Triggerhappy I'd say we're doing pretty good so far.

I think these two look good. Sure they have the same legs but everything else looks completely different so I fail to see the issue. I think the real problems though are misfires head color which I'm desperately hoping is not the final version even though I know it is, and all the detailing on both of them that looks like stickers instead of tampos.

Figured I'd do a comparison, and, uh...

Image

... yeah. That's a nigh-perfect update. There's a couple details a little off - particularly in that he should have a visor and his four boob things should have some painted detail - but otherwise I'm willing to call this perfect.

And the new one has eyes instead of a visor. That's not a criticism just a difference. I actually quite like the new face sculpt, I think it gives him a bit more character

Yeah, that's down to preference. I for some reason prefer the original headsculpt but this one's pretty rad as well... though for some reason I get the feeling it's a repainted version of someone else's head. I can't pin down who or why I think that though.

I like that when you combine the 2 guns, you get an approximation of his Targetmaster.

Aaaand Misfire. Took a bit because it was difficult to find a MTMTE picture.

Image

This one, rather obviously, is a little off. There's the head colour of course - and I didn't say this before, but bloody hell, Qwan's digibash makes it look a hundred times better with just that little extra colour - but then there's also the odd chest detail. It doesn't look good and I don't entirely know where it came from.

There's also the wings which are a bit odd, but given how they're positioned and given how I really doubt they're engineered to stay like that, I'm betting they're adjustable like CW Air Raid or Thrilling 30 Armada Starscream.

I could also do comparisons of the vehicle modes I suppose but I think it's pretty obvious they're incredible accurate and incredibly beautiful =P~ =P~ =P~

Slugslinger's head is based on the rebirth dispiction of the Decepticon.

But Misfire's head from these pictures keep making me see a straight repaint of Highbrow even though the helmet is different aghhhh!

They did, kinda, with Scourge (maybe some others too, but I've only really noticed it on Scourge and Slugslinger so far). Not as much so as his previous Generations toy, granted that this one's upside-down and the proportions are pretty off, but the thought is there at least. :D

Kurona wrote:I didn't say this before, but bloody hell, Qwan's digibash makes it look a hundred times better with just that little extra colour

Aw shucks, just doin' my best! I'm really glad, though, that it'll be so easy to make him look better - if all I need is a permanent marker or a bit of paint to make a figure nigh-perfect (or at least a lot better, like CW Wheeljack), I call that a win in my books.

Well Misfire is one of the lads i ALWAYS regreted not getting back in the 80s as it was such a cool looking jet so he's a must for me.

with him and triggerhappy i'll pretty much have all the aul favs i wanted from the headmasters/targetmasters wave.

gotta say titans returns has got me to buy more toys than any other line.

heres hoping they keep it up.

Not crazy about Misfire's head having blue eyes, but he and Slugslinger are definite buys for me.

I wonder if someone got some reference info muddled or a colour plastic allocation muddled as it seems peculiar that the faces have the reverse of each others typical eye features. I wonder if a transpositional error led to Misfire getting a pink head instead of a black head with pink legs - or maybe they had to do him like that for some obscure production reason - but it's an odd choice. I don't hate the pink head - it's just a change.

If they can do as good a job with Apeface and Snapdragon before the idea is abandoned i'd be pretty happy - I do like that Misfire has his cartoon style backpack too (not toy style). I'd have liked a wing pivot though so the wings could point straight up in robot mode on Misfire.

I wonder if in retrospect Metal Hawk would have worked better with parts from slugslinger and a new cockpit part and not just as a Triggerhappy repaint - but perhaps a clip on 3rd party piece or two can make him look more distinct too. I do like Metal Hawk though overall even as a repaint.

Looking close at the top of the jets, both of them do have hinges for swinging the wings back in robot mode/upwards in jet mode.

Yes I can see you can swing them back - I would have liked Misfire to have his wing up behind his head though myself.

But back is toy accurate I suppose.

As to the broader point about cases... I think some people wouldn't mind some reissues - either simply re-offering wave 1,2 or 3 or doing what they sometimes do and giving a couple of random slot to random repacks. Tht would benefit though who are having trouble find certain toys.

I'm pleased to have them and I hope they can pull a Fangry Deluxe out of their hat too (Twinferno retool).

As to the issue of shared engineering - I can barely see it in Windblade - It's as hard for me to see as it is on Highbrow. But that is mostly as I don't own Triggerhappy yet.
----

I rather like Optimus and Megatron's Voyager (doesn't hurt that they are pretty cheap on TRU-UK either, I do however dislike the very poor quality stickers - when they have shown they have the ability to put some really nice tampographs on things - and also they have had stickers in the past that don't peel.

I was thinking earlier that Groove or Afterburner might make a nice possible repaint as Vroom and then it crossed my mind that there is another way to attack the same character and that isn't the outer shell but with the inner robot.

Am I crazy or does Vroom look rather like Full Tilt ?
