No clue, thats all tha was said in the
interview.
Now I realize I have been talking a lot but of very little substance (well, all considering we are talking about toys) and never really expressed my thoughts on any of these.
I actually LOVE EM. Most of em.
I am planning out what I will purchase and so far it is certain I will be getting all the presented deluxes.
Mindwipe, Skullcuncher, Chromedome, Blurr, everyone revealed at the show (and before). They all look fun and I adore extra playability, which si what these guys are all about. I love the alt modes.
And I like how they feature traditional complexity:

16 steps is perfect.
Speaking of a ncie level of complexity, check out the star of the show:

13 steps, plus a working cockpit, plus a really nice G1 look, man this guy is phenominal. So far the legends I will be buying are Rewind and Wheelie. I wont be getting Rumble and Frenzy because I have the tank versions and thus I find it cool that they will share a different mold than the autobots. Even though the headsculpt is supersweet.
For voyagers, I am buying Galvatron and Astrotrain. And I am even happy the Hasbro deco appears to be white and purple since I preffer the contrast it creates oer the use of grey.
For the rest, I am unsure. I dont have Metroplex so I am extatic that I would be buying an expensive toy that will be completely new to me. But I am also not fond of Metroplex' city mode. It seems too simple, more like something i would expect from a redo of Scorponok (which even then, would be a bit more dynamic looking). G1 Tripticon and Fort Max really looked like bases, and had some fun unfolding and transforming elements to them. The robot mode did transform. Here, it's more like Metroplex, where you rearange the robot mode to give a base. I dont know if I am big clear with that distinction. I dont own the G1 fort Max toy (I do have trypticon and scorponok however) but it always fascinated me in the way that it reallylooked like a playset. With buildings and an elevator and such. I dont feel that here.
So while I like the robot mode and the fact that he would be completely new, I am currently considering where my money should go between getting the Encore or this guy. For sure, I wouldnt be buying the Takara version. Though I am sure it will look great, I dont seem them adding giant buildings in that base mode.
And getting this fortmax or not kind of goes with how many leaders I plan to get. I love the interconnectivity aspect, but I dont want molds I already have, especially not when they cost me 40-50$. SO I would only get Blaster or Soundwave. Though Blaster looks better, and I would be getting rewind and not Soundwave's minions, that leader Soundwave would scale really well with my Leader Megs and Starscream.
But then again, would it mke sense to connect the starscream base to Fort Max? I hope we do get another leader mold though, because I am not fond of that PMOP toy. That base mode just doesnt work for me and I already have Ultra Magnus.
So yeah, definite buy on the smaller items, which really look distinctive and original, but not so sure about the more expensive items, based on toys we already have
