In a way, this has been my biggest complaint. Galvatron,s mask thing folds right down into a massive cavity in his chest. A bigger hinge could have flipped the whole head down.

Scourge is the same way backwards. He could have flipped his noggin backwards into his cockpit a la RID Wedge. The only difference, is that Scourge's head would be upside down, but If it were on a ball joint that could tip back 90*, we could even orient his head to be his own pilot.

Skullcruncher does actually need his head gone, but again there s a massive chest cavity. A flip over hinge into the cockpit in his back solves that issue very easily.

And with Sentienl I am wondering of the entire head assembly couldnt be on the same spring. If not, then you flip his head backwards too, the only catch is you will have to swivel the eings out of the way first to do it.

Oh, I forgot Blurr. But then again, if he didnt have the Headmadters legs making his noggin so thivk, he could probably leave his head where it is and attach the shield around it!

Hardhead... Is the only one I don't have an answer for. There probably is one... But I don't know what it is.

I am glad the G1 guys got their Headmasters, dont get me wrong. They have been wanting these for a long time. And the action figure/base/playset/vehicles concept is great. Wheelie is a good figure, and fits well into the play pattern. This is a great venue to see the Throttlebots in because they are "new" and underdone characters.

But to me, these are beautifully detailed, inguinesly engineered Figures... Who are getting away with partsforming the head when their are clear and practical alternatives. It feels like cheating unneccesarily, and I would gladly have given up the Headmaster gimmick to perfect figures like Blurr and Galvatron.

Oh, and speaking of Throttlebots, Chase gave me an idea for next year's SDCC:

Headmaster Rescue Bots with the Headmasters as the Burns family. Throw in some Master vehicles to homage the original accesory packs. Its just too bad we dont have any of the right vehicles.

btw isn't High Tide sort of/kind of a Headmaster anyway :-?

ok so I had a really odd experience... I went to my local TRU and they had...an Empty Box for Fort Max on display (with anti-theft device attached). I got my Fort Max at the much nicer, but further away, TRU about 10 miles east of my home rather than the one right by my me. I just wonder if anyone else had this experience...I thought it might just be a display, but then why the anti-theft?..the box does not look like it had been tampered with, completely sealed, just (obviously be lack of weight) empty.

It would certainly be frustrating to take that up to the front, only to find out they didn't have any in stock
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

So, having had Hardhead and Clobber for a week, Hardhead with Clobber is now my official Grimlock, the greys match perfectly, and he looks so great, really channels the ethos of Grimlock with a huge cannon on his shoulder, and I gave him sentinels rifle, since hardheads gun is so dumb looking. He's great overall though.
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

If they have this it normally means they have them in the stock room, as its an expensive figure they probably don't want the risk of it being damaged or anything in store, once you take it to buy it they would get one out of the stock room for you. They do the same with games, just because they are expensive.

With a bit of repainting - mostly replacing green with yellow - I could actually see it working as a pre-beast mode Grimlock.
Shame it's deluxe. Bit too small for him.

So, I got Titans Return Rewind today. When I first transformed him, the joints that unfold his arms for the spy tablet mode were really tight. I've only transformed him back and forth between all of his modes 3 times, and those hinges have stress marks on them. I can't transform him now because I'm afraid of breaking him! I really wanted to share pictures, but I can't share pictures of everything now.

Kurona wrote:Eeeeh, the whole re-prefix is still relevant a little bit. We know, for instance, that Hasbro never planned to do Computron until late in the game so his components of course can't be pretooled. Afterbreaker and Scrounge's new heads and Strafe's new... everything are all retools after the fact. The same story likely applies to Liokaiser's five new heads (and one new top half of a head?) as well.
And for perhaps a more obvious example, the unique Sweep head in Cyclonus' Armada.
Non-pre-planned retools seem a rarity these days but I don't think they're completely dead.

I didnt mean to drop it completely, but to definitely drop it when talking about Asrotrain/Sentinel Soundwave/Blaster Optimus/Octane, and most definitely cases like Alpha Trion/Braodside and Scourge/Highbrow.

Strafe most definitely is a retool, and from what Hasbro said it seems that Aterburner was too.

And here is the reference for Alpha Trion (and Galvatron) being designed much before the TR line was thought up:

http://www.allspark.com/2016/08/emilian ... tf-nation/

It states that Apha Trion was to be part of Combiner Wars.

Re: Soundwave/Blaster - This is very definition of pretool as discussed by the designers.

Re: Astrotrain/Sentinal and Optimus/Octain - Normally I'd call these redecos with pretooled titan masters but as they were preplanned I think it's safe to call them predecos with pretooled titan masters. Either way the very definition of a redeco or in this case a predeco.

But there is no prefix for Alpha Trion/Broadside and Scourge/Highbrow. They are shared engineering. So it's not that the prefix is being dropped here since it never existed in the first place. :PEACE:

I would never consider purchasing a headmaster who is supposed to be a headmaster but is not released as a headmaster because the character is all about being a headmaster. Headmasters aren't partsformers, their heads transform into smaller robots that interact with the alt modes. And whether you prefer Hasbro's fiction or Takara's fiction either way it all makes sense and makes for a fun toy to play with. [-(

Do I wish Galvatron wasn't shoehorned into the Titans Return gimmick? Sure. But now he has added mobility with his cool spaceship mode, and I like that. :PEACE:

Difference in generarions, if it wasnt alluded to I wasnt around (alive) for the otiginal headmasters line. So for me, the fact that the little headmasters are their own little dudes, or pilots of larger bodies, or whatever, is not as important as making sure when I detach their headmaster I get it put inside quickly or risk losing it. Yeah, I do like transforming the headmasters and having actual figures in cockpits to a degree but for me, it still comes down to having to take the headmasters off, I have yet to play with any of their headmasters seperately, and Galvatron and Skullcruncher's headmasters almost never get transformed before being chucked inside. Even Apeface, the only of the Vehicles I have broken down and bought, I am frankly more interested in the ability to become Mindwipe's jet mode nosecone (noseconemaster?) vehicle part than I am the little headmaster dude. If it weren't for the big aft cavity in the aircraft body, I would put the Headmaster in a baggie and say fugedaboudit.

Headmaster headmaster headmaster. You still with us WJ? ? Headmastwr headmaster headmaster head *hic* ster*hiccup*master... :-P

I tried playing a drinking game here, and boy is this turning out to be a great night!

What game you playing?

Also, Blaster is my favorite bot so far in the line :D

Maybe I missed this but does anybody else dislike Blaster's scale? I think Voyager would be plenty big.

He's definitely not in scale with normal CHUG, no, which is a bit annoying when he and Soundwave are the first real CHUG straight updates of their original G1 designs (not counting device label, but let's not). I just find it easier to get around due to their FoC Voyagers and the fact these guys are just meant to be played around with or displayed with other leaders like Megatron and Skywarp, or even Masterpieces.

:PEACE:

Curious then, how do you feel about Blurr, Triggerhappy and the like not being Targetmasters anymore? Or Powermaster Optimus and Getaway not being Powermasters?

I can't speak for Blaster, as I never had that one, but what's wrong with Device Label Soundwave? He's an awesome figure that works perfectly with my other Classics Decepticons.
