One thing I noticed: The rumored Carnivac and Blood could make up the two last Deluxes. And before you say, "but that would be 3 deluxe 's, and there's supposed to be 2 deluxe 's and 2 's per wave", Wave 3 has 3 Autobot Deluxes.

Sorry if I missed it, but does anyone know why Tidal Wave appears twice on the box set list. Once as a single word and once as 2 words. The Chinese writing for both also seems different.

My guess is that that's our missing Shockwave link. Tidal Wave in Japan was called Shockwave - so it's rather likely that the translator simply gave him the localized name rather than a direct translation, and not realising that G1 Shockwave is now called Shockwave in Japan instead of the previous Laserwave; translated both Shockwaves to Tidal Wave.

It's interesting to see how the links are grouped together. The only thing that I am disappointed in is that the other Two monsterbots; Repugnus and Grotusque are getting Titan masters rather than proper deluxes. I was hoping at least Grotusque was going to be a deluxe. Hope that Takara can maybe sort us out with some Deluxe bodies like they did with Groove and Nosecone for Combiner Wars. With Pounce and Wingspan they could easily retool them for Tigertron and Airrazor.

He's been revealed a while back, this lsit was about the ones we werent sure of yet for the most part an included some of wave 3 but not all.

probably a combination of fuzzy translation and some trademarks not being available while others are, if these are the trademarked names and not just what somebody looked up on Chinese TFWiki.

Man I am completely lost in almost all the discussion on the rumored 2017 releases. As someone who's only been exposed to the US G1 show and the Headmasters series, I basically have no idea who have the rumored figures are. Given how excited most of you are, I feel like I'm missing out here!

I'm really excited for the next year and a half. I love everything I'm reading that might be coming out. As so many others have pointed out though, my wallet isn't in love with the idea. While I don't like the idea of having to put out so much money at one time for those box sets, I do like how they're not just redecos of figures that have either been released recently or released multiple times in multiple colors already. Hopefully they won't be too difficult to get so that those people who don't want the entire set can get who they want for decent prices.

So about that Predaking rumor though. While I haven't read all of this thread since that rumor, I haven't seen anyone say this in what I have read. How much would it suck if they did a Prime Predaking redeco of Deathsaurus instead of a combiner Predaking? I've been thinking that ever since the Deathsaurus rumor came about. I love me some Prime Predaking but I think four good molds is enough for one character. Especially since two of them already stand at new leader height and Deathsaurus would as well which would make three.
















However and going by what others have said about the names for the leaks, if it were Prime Predaking, it would've been named Dragotron and not Predaking. I mainly just wanted to mess with some of you. Then again, Hasbro loves to mess with us too so I wouldn't entirely put it past them...

Skull Smasher could make a pretty convincing Snarl, especially if you flip the body around and put a small head where the tail goes and replace the head with a tail.

Why would it be necessary to put Snarl's head where Skullcruncher's tail is? I think a simple new head and stego spikes would be sufficient.

Dinobot also seems unaccounted for given previous rumors. Although with the easy conversions we've seen applied to Fall of Cybertron Grimlock by fans, I lean towards the idea that a FoC retool (possibly with some RiD Grimlock retool elements; a "Frankentool") could be used for Grimlock/Dinobot/Clobber, probably with a crown element built in.

Likewise, I can see Arcee just being a Generations Arcee with a modded cockpit and head attachment. They're going light on Generations molds being retooled/re-engineered for TR (technically we haven't seen any so far aside from Chromedome) but I can see FoC/RiD Grimlock and Generations Arcee being well received enough molds.

Have you ever actually played with FOC Grimlock? Coz it kinda sucks.

I'm on the fence but I can also see Highbrow -> Springer late in the line. Actually, you know what would be cool? Titan Master Springer packaged with TWO bodies. Chromedome AND Highbrow in Springer decos. That's a different way to accomplish the triple changer gimmick on a budget and two bodies sold with one head will help move the TM standalone heads.

I haven't I use the MP on my classics shelf. Nearly got the Target redeco. The engineering makes sense for Snapdragon but Snapdragon's plane mode would mean filling in the missing gut.

So assuming the retool starts with TAV Grimlock and then does a Magnus->PM Prime level further retool including filling in the belly with jet mode parts, adding some articulation (the arms would need to be all new), removing electronics, adding a waist swivel, etc. then I think the resulting mold could make a decent Snapdragon that people would be asking for as Grimlock. Because Snapdragon is already practically a version of Grimlock with a different robot mode head and torso. FoC/TAV Grimlock uses Snapdragon style engineering. The necessary changes for Snapdragon would involve filling in the bot mode torso and adding articulation.

I think Snapdragon -> Grimlock seems pretty inevitable even if it winds up being in the next line and Apeface -> Optimus Primal or Primal Prime seems pretty inevitable as well.

I would think Snapdragon and Apeface would be better suited for Beast Wars Optimal Optimus and Transmetal 2 Megatron. People often forget that TM2 Megs had a halfhearted vehicle mode.



Time to make up for past misdeeds.

I'd rather see Deathsaurus modified into Grimlock, the guy is long, long overdue for a Leader class figure.

I think the idea is to try and keep close to Snarl's original transformation scheme where his legs become the front of his Steggo mode, and the tail is over his shoulders.

Nope. The windshield goes fully flat, but that's not a fully closed cockpit. There's a gap at the back. It's animation accurate though. Blurr was always an open top car.

The upper arms that connect to the elbows and the elbows themselves are also the same on Alpha Trion & Broadside.

Perhaps he shares other pieces but we are seeing the reverse side - to anyone who has Alpha Lion (Trion) can you look at the back of his legs and his robot mode backside etc see if there is any obviously matching parts.

It is indeed a curious thing to think how to describe something like Alpha Trion & Broad Side or Scourge an Highbrow or Chromedome & Blurr that are so different to each other and yet still share pieces with each other.
