So having just picked up TR Hot Rod, I'm pretty happy with the mold (the arms are a bit long and the shoulder joints are very obvious and thin). My TF:TM collection is another figure closer to completion. Just gotta get Cyclonus, Kup, Arcee, Wheelie, and Gnaw and I'll be set.

One question though (if anyone knows), Hot Rod has two small pegs on the rear of his roof (just before the spoiler). I've tried to figure out what they'd be used for, but have no idea. Any thoughts what they'd be for? Like, there's nothing on his body that leads me to think they're used in his transformation or for holding anything...

Seriously. Alot of the titan master figures of deluxe upwards have those pegs for holding TM guys on. Not all figures, but a fair few.

Seriously. Alot of the titan master figures of deluxe upwards have those pegs for holding TM guys on. Not all figures, but a fair few.

The legends tank casettes have them too.

Sure I've never been a fan of the character since he grabbed The Matrix before Magnus did, but this figure just feels ... like it lacks personality? Agreed. I can't figure out what it is, but there's something "off" about TR Hot Rod that doesn't sit right with me.
I too am also fond of Classics Rodimus, despite all the nitpicking everyone seems to have about the figure

Those are usually very limited run cases. Though there are exceptions, such as when Walmart ordered all Galvatron cases for the holidays this year. All those Galvatrons sold out quick here!

He's just gonan be a titan master, not a mobile device. Will probably be like the mammoth titan master.

Too Bad...Ramhorn was always my favorite of the U.S. released Autobot cassettes. But I can see how developing a whole new toy for him probably wouldn't be cost effective because it probably would not get a second use. Probably also why we wont get a Ratbat one, unless it is a modified Buzzsaw/Laserbeak. Also one would think Frenzy and Eject were slam dunks for Hasbro...Guess we'll find out in about a week or so.

Rumble being released over Frenzy - or, to avoid debate; the red one being released over the blue one - really perplexes me. Eject and Frenzy are both blue (don't), which would make it a lot more difficult to sell them than if they released Eject and Rumble around the same time - ie a blue one and a red one. That's a bit more visual variety ensuring an easier sell.
Not only that, but the blue Decepticon humanoid cassette is the one with more appearances in the original cartoon so you would have thought that'd be a more popular character to put in Wave 2.

I wonder if things like that come down to people not being that familiar with the brand's history.

Maybe they were told Rumble is the popular one, looked up Rumble and found the Black/Red toy. Sort of how Technobot Strafe's pic wound up on the AOE Strafe two pack when it should've been Dinobot Swoop.

Makes sense to me, but then again Hasbro's repack of TR Deluxe wave 2 has 3 mostly all Blue Characters (Scourge, Blurr, and Highbrow)...so who knows.

Hasbro once mentionned that part of the choices is linked to how colours will look like on a shelf. That second wave all had the same red and black theme so that's why they used the red over the blue one. Plus, red and black was an easier colour scheme to differentiate the bad guy casette from the good guy casette.

Yeah... awesome as TR has been, Hasbro's certainly had some bizarre decisions this time around.

Usually a case has different figures in it. Deluxes cases have 8. So if your store restocks with a case, you will have 2 of each deluxe from that wave on a shelf. The average collector grew tired of wave 2 back in the Fall while looking for Brainstorm at Walgreen's. This will only result in wave 2 figures clogging up pegs preventing Waves 4 and 5 from releasing due to unnecessary shelf-warming.

So I won't be surprised if the general set up in May/June at retail for TF pegs are Bayformers/NuRID/Wave2 TR's. With Wave 4 TR's still MIA in many area's while Wave 5 are hitting online sites.

Maybe, maybe not. Keep in mind the Legends class (as well as Leader) are the ones that usually carry over between lines, so it is possible that they are not included in TR at all, but may be in the first wave or 2 of Power of the Primes (or whatever it will be called). Just look at the insecticons as an example. They were dragged out across Thrilling 30, CW and TR.
