It's not that bad, really. Just a bit frustrating.

Yeah, just tell yourself its a cape that flows elegantly in the wind - and not one of the biggest disappointments in tf history:BANG_HEAD:

That's a bit dramatic I think. I've seen the the live action movies. Much bigger disappointment. Does the head or the cockpit cover actually fall off in this case or does it stay on?

Kurona wrote:It's incredibly frustrating and unfortunate, but thankfully it doesn't really ruin the figure - at least, it hasn't really for me. It can still be used to transform and close the cockpit, it's just... a bit of a mess.

Nope, it completely ruins it for me, it's going into the nearest industrial compactor asap - it's a disgrace to actually well designed tf's

You see the little bit of exposed pin in the cockpit hinge assembly? It shouldn't be exposed- the yellow hinge has cracked.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

Wolfwire is one of those toys I got to play around with; I've transformed him a ton. Is 'countless' an acceptable answer?

YOU BETTER BE!

Absolutely. I've only transformed it about 10 times and mine looks fine for now. I'll be extremely gentle from here out and its good to know the other part is still holding things together if/when mine does break.

At this point, I'd say that this breakage is virtually guaranteed, you could maybe salvage it by surgically removing the rubber part and just have open windows in the cockpit, wouldn't be the worst thing...

I promise I'll stop talking about him...eventually) I'm glad I read up on that little pin in his waist, because now I'll do everything in my power to stop it from breaking. (although I think you would need to be a god to stop that vac-form metal from flaking off his guns.)

...wait, there's a breakage problem with Jetfire?...Generations Leader Jetfire?
This one?
...what the issue? I just inspected mine since he happened to be two feet away, and I don't see any stress marks...honestly the only thing that's worried me is accidentally snapping the mask.
All versions of this mold have a design flaw in the strut that connects the pelvis to the chest. The very small, very thin plastic on either side of where the strut pins in between the legs has a tendency to eventually break, especially after repeated transformations. The primary cause appears to be when the friction pin starts to work its way into both the inner and outer pieces. Checking the clearance between the pieces and the position of the pin can help prevent untimely damage. Some units also have an insanely tight pin hole here, where it requires less force to ratchet the pieces apart than to rotate properly. Removing the pin and opening the hole on the inner piece of the joint can also lengthen the effective lifespan of the figure.
