here is an interesting tidbit for you guys (found on Planet Iacon):

G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime was initially planned to have the Headmaster gimmick but the idea was drop during production. So now it does make some sense on the new Titan Returns Powermaster Optimus Prime to have the headmaster gimmick.

The hinge would probably allow for some creative fan modes. Also, could TR Cerebros fit G1 Fort Max and vice versa? How about Warden fitting on the new guy?

Those would be some interesting things to find out. It would be really cool if they were

i did initially suggest Warden a while back, due to the early schematics of Fort Max since he had tank treads

so maybe that arm joint was meant to be part of some type of Warden configuration or something? & has been left over from that, as well as Metroplex.

That's because fortmax is built as metroplex facing backwards. Same with his crotch

Hasn't somebody already said that? I also kinda started thinking that once I realized the hinge was there. I do own Metroplex, so I do know the hinge's original function.

Here's my take on things. I like the deluxes a lot. Except Scourge, and only because the older Generations version has the actual head at the rear of the vehicle. Perhaps that one can be Scourge and these can be Sweeps. Wheelie looks FANTASTIC. The Leaders look.... like they were expected to look. I'm not hot on Sentinel Prime but we'll see what happens. I wish there were some more alterations to Fortress Maximus to make him resemble a base more than a robot doing the splits, but I'll take it. Although I've decided that with all titan class figures going forward, I'm going to wait for the Takara version to make a decision, since I want the most bang for my buck with a figure that large.

Remember Metroplex came with his arm detached so he could fit in the box? Was it that arm that has the hinge?

No it was the other arm. The hinge is why that arm couldn't be detached.

Yup. Found in 2nd/special edition Transformers Generations (with the gold colored heading)Mook. That's kinda the Holy Grail of the Generations Mook series

And FM still retains Metroplex's forearms.

Well, so far I'm liking TR very very much. It'll be nice not having to buy EVERYTHING in a wave in order to complete a combiner again.

I like all the Legends class guys, especially the tablet-bots. The Titan masters seem fun to have lots of them around and exchange heads with others at random. As said above, all the deluxes, except Scourge, as I already have the Gen version and he's a character I like but not so much as to have many versions of him.

Personally my favorites so far are Skullsmasher and Chromedome, but I thin that he may lose his position once Brainstorm comes out.

I'll be getting Galvatron and waiting for Astrotrain instead of Sentinel Prime. Need to balance my shelf, it has too many 'Bots. The Leaders I'll get all three, even though SW and Blaster are (obviously) minor retools of each other.

Yeah I'm glad he didn't have that head. Looks even worse than Scourge's and much sillier too. Always liked the head PM Prime did have, even if the only thing you could really do with it in truck mode was chuck it in the back of the trailer for safe keeping.

Lookin' forward to a couple of these; Can't wait til botcon to see Alpha Trion and astrotrain.

But I'd imagine that the hinge on fort max's armpit should allow for multiple 'city' modes, if he could pull off the metroplex city mode.
