If it's about the recent Brainstorm news, Mindmaster sent us a message so that's how we saw the pic of Brainstorm and found the coloured one and he gets a news credit.

My post that was like two posts before the news one with the link to Zmultiplier's profile it's in this thread.
I guess that's my bad or whatever.

prob coz you didn't go through proper channels! they're very particular about that!
personally i don't really see the point of news credits, coz it's not as if you get a discount with them for online purchases or something!
but hey! that's just me ;)

Well, there is a structure there for a reason ;)

Are you kidding? I got a year's free subscription to the Seibertron forums for each of my news credits.

Wait....what?

At any rate, I am stoked to get Fort Max and start linking bases together. My wife is not going to like the basement anymore... :-s

I like this ethos of connecting bases, I hope all of the titan class figures have the ramps available for their base modes :-?

This 'mold sharing' is getting frighteningly excessive, never mind the nearly non-existent paint apps =;

Even though they are the same, do we really worry about thighs and kneepads being the same? That is probably one of the things that can be shared several times and not be bothered.

And as a bonus, dunno if this had been brought up, but Domey is actually a heavy homage to his IDW self in the "Shadow Play" arc (issues 9-11) of More Than Meets The Eye. And once I learned that, I got even more excited. the head is clearly IDW, but now that the body actually homages an IDW version, yes please now :MAXIMAL:

At a glance I've seen a lot of similarities between deluxes in this line. The removable noses/tails/etc all stick out to me, as do the shared guns, leg parts, etc. As long as they do enough to make the characters unique I don't mind it. I think I prefer that kind of sharing to straight redecos and remolds like in CW, necessary as it was in that line. Helps unify the look of the line without making 4+ of the same character in different colors with slight variations, if any. I believe it's a smart move, but we'll see how it plays out in later waves.

As for Chromedome, I think I mentioned it before, but get a couple Constructbot wheels and peg them into the shoulders and you get an even more accurate IDW look!

But it's so weird to see such integral parts as robot mode thighs shared between two completely different molds that aren't retools of each other. :?:

Shared gun accessories is one thing, but shared thighs is nuts. 8-}

I'd think that orphaning a key component of one mold to have it integrated into another mold entirely would be more effort than casting two separate molds with that extra "orphaning and integration" step added in.

I'd rather have a bot share fists, thighs, and other unassuming pieces rather than share defining characteristics that might not fit the character very well. If this is their cost saving technique for the line I'm all for it, given they do enough to keep characters unique in other ways.

I totally agree Skram ;)^
Maybe the body constructor on Cybertronn had some legs of the first mold left over and didn't want to throw them away. Or they had a system error in the facility and didn't notice it. :-P

Otherwise, just get over it. :HASBRO: has done worse things.

It's tougher for the designer and engineer to implement, sure, but not having to cast a new steel mold is really cost saving for Hasbro.

I don't think it's so much tougher with parts like thighs that solely consist of robot mode parts and especially with parts like a weapon that is not integrated in the alt mode.

On ze mark wj88. In the end, it's the bottom line. Minimize cost maximize the profits. So the mold "sharing" is no surprise.

Didn't Hb do that with the upcoming PM OP from the UM mold? FM and Metroplex etc.

We all gonna be buying them anyway. Our plastic crack!

Yep, I'm ok with that. Didn't even really notice the thighs til it was pointed out because the majority of the figures' parts are unique to their character and so far much, much better than the vast mold re-usage of combiner wars that robbed many characters of their uniqueness. Even Blurr and Brainstorm here don't bug me much because they still have enough of their own traditional pieces in their figures to differentiate them like Generations Springer & Sandstorm. And I'm ok with figures with personal connections sharing a few pieces (allies or 'relatives') but hate when it's opposing factions even when arch-rivals (I hope one day to see a brand new Blaster and a brand new Soundwave in the same line who don't share any parts or design at all) but again minor things like thighs and hands and stuff are still not a huge deal even there.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool! :)

Likes: Bayverse, Marvel UK G1, Geoff Senior art, '86 movie (more for style/soundtrack rather than Star Wars plot)
Dislikes: Bumblebee movie (lousy rehashed dumb crud), TFA, G1 cartoon, IDW G1, BW/BM, MP. The entire concept of Autobot Megatron

But it's so weird to see such integral parts as robot mode thighs shared between two completely different molds that aren't retools of each other. :?:

Shared gun accessories is one thing, but shared thighs is nuts. 8-}

Not nuts, cheap [-(
I'd think that orphaning a key component of one mold to have it integrated into another mold entirely would be more effort than casting two separate molds with that extra "orphaning and integration" step added in.

It's tougher for the designer and engineer to implement, sure, but not having to cast a new steel mold is really cost saving for Hasbro.

But this time it's parts sharing. That's kinda new and not really mold sharing because it's not the whole mold but some exact same parts.

Why do you hate it when they have opposing factions? And Blaster and Soundwave having the same mold makes perfect sense. So why change that?

Because they arent supposed to be the same mold/object. Soundwave is a microcasette recorder (hence him gathering intel) and Blaster is a Boom Box:

Takara's soudnwave even came with the actual headphones:

I think it's because that in the beginning they had different molds and I think even as action masters they had different molds (I'm sure they had a soundwave action master)

Universe blaster was a redeco of cybertron soundwave...surely I'm missing a few blasters here?
