If it's about the recent Brainstorm news, Mindmaster sent us a message so that's how we saw the pic of Brainstorm and found the coloured one and he gets a news credit.
My post that was like two posts before the news one with the link to Zmultiplier's profile it's in this thread.
I guess that's my bad or whatever.
prob coz you didn't go through proper channels! they're very particular about that!
personally i don't really see the point of news credits, coz it's not as if you get a discount with them for online purchases or something!
but hey! that's just me

Huh, well, here's something unexpected. The Blurr/Brainstorm mold shares its thighs and smaller gun with the Chromedome mold:

But it's so weird to see such integral parts as robot mode thighs shared between two completely different molds that aren't retools of each other.D-Maximus_Primal wrote:Even though they are the same, do we really worry about thighs and kneepads being the same? That is probably one of the things that can be shared several times and not be bothered.

Shared gun accessories is one thing, but shared thighs is nuts.

I'd think that orphaning a key component of one mold to have it integrated into another mold entirely would be more effort than casting two separate molds with that extra "orphaning and integration" step added in.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:But it's so weird to see such integral parts as robot mode thighs shared between two completely different molds that aren't retools of each other.D-Maximus_Primal wrote:Even though they are the same, do we really worry about thighs and kneepads being the same? I'd rather have a bot share fists, thighs, and other unassuming pieces rather than share defining characteristics that might not fit the character very well. If this is their cost saving technique for the line I'm all for it, given they do enough to keep characters unique in other ways.

It's tougher for the designer and engineer to implement, sure, but not having to cast a new steel mold is really cost saving for Hasbro.

On ze mark wj88. In the end, it's the bottom line. Minimize cost maximize the profits. So the mold "sharing" is no surprise.
Didn't Hb do that with the upcoming PM OP from the UM mold? FM and Metroplex etc.
We all gonna be buying them anyway. Our plastic crack!

Yep, I'm ok with that. Didn't even really notice the thighs til it was pointed out because the majority of the figures' parts are unique to their character and so far much, much better than the vast mold re-usage of combiner wars that robbed many characters of their uniqueness. Even Blurr and Brainstorm here don't bug me much because they still have enough of their own traditional pieces in their figures to differentiate them like Generations Springer & Sandstorm. And I'm ok with figures with personal connections sharing a few pieces (allies or 'relatives') but hate when it's opposing factions even when arch-rivals (I hope one day to see a brand new Blaster and a brand new Soundwave in the same line who don't share any parts or design at all) but again minor things like thighs and hands and stuff are still not a huge deal even there.
Lunatic Prime wrote:Why do you hate it when they have opposing factions? And Blaster and Soundwave having the same mold makes perfect sense. So why change that?
