ZeroWolf wrote:I think it's because that in the beginning they had different molds and I think even as action masters they had different molds (I'm sure they had a soundwave action master)
Universe blaster was a redeco of cybertron soundwave...surely I'm missing a few blasters here?
You also save on time spent when the designers can cut, copy, paste components from one CG model to the next. Less time means more money.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I'd think that orphaning a key component of one mold to have it integrated into another mold entirely would be more effort than casting two separate molds with that extra "orphaning and integration" step added in.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:But it's so weird to see such integral parts as robot mode thighs shared between two completely different molds that aren't retools of each other.D-Maximus_Primal wrote:Even though they are the same, do we really worry about thighs and kneepads being the same? That is probably one of the things that can be shared several times and not be bothered.
Shared gun accessories is one thing, but shared thighs is nuts.
Not nuts, cheap![]()
It's tougher for the designer and engineer to implement, sure, but not having to cast a new steel mold is really cost saving for Hasbro.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

as well as a satellite & a vehicle
Those were each made from the same mold, though. Prime and Max are reshells of Magnus and Metroplex. Blurr/Brainstorm and Chromedome, however, aren't even that.fenrir72 wrote:Didn't Hb do that with the upcoming PM OP from the UM mold? FM and Metroplex etc.
Shadowman wrote:This is Sabrblade we're talking about. His ability to store trivial information about TV shows is downright superhuman.
Caelus wrote:My wife pointed out something interesting about the prehistoric Predacons. I said that everyone was complaining because transforming for them mostly consisted of them just standing up-right. She essentially said, 'So? That's what our ancestors did.'

Don't forget Generations Fall of Cybertron Blaster!
Lunatic Prime wrote:Why do you hate it when they have opposing factions? And Blaster and Soundwave having the same mold makes perfect sense. So why change that?

You waste more money buying expensive knock offs then if you did buy Hasbro products.
Your not saving anything.

Of course not I would like to actually buy groceries.
So what if their high quality their still like $200.00 a figure If you can actually point out a figure that is under a hundred dollars I'll change my mind for those figures.

Anyone else's wallet having a panic attack from calculating how much getting the entirety of Titans Return lineup thus far revealed? Not counting Scourge and Blurr, it's going to cost $320+, and that's not counting Fortress Maximus!
