Stuartmaximus wrote:of course they open, they're just the same as Metroplex's legs
mind you....in saying that....i'm now wondering if you can now kinda pull off a sort of G1 city mode with himmaybe by leaving part of that leg section open
btw i was mucking about with Metroplex....trying to sort of get the legs to form towers(Fortress Maximus style) & i came across something else interesting....
now doesn't that sort of look like Scorponok![]()
so maybe the Metroplex mold will once again be reused for Scorponok! it's just a thought
ZeroWolf wrote:Oh I know but they at least try to get the overall look, they may keep the torso but I think it will be new legs.
ZeroWolf wrote:While it's a credible theory there's some problems. First is that scorponok's tail wasn't formed from his legs, as it just folded away in bot mode.

your right, the original wasn't, but this one's does(well....feet)

If it has so much articulation then why cant it even pull the same pose as G1. G1 can imitate this Titans Return alt mode but the new version can't imitate G1. Seems like the G1 can do a bit more

I recognize that, but to say that this makes the G1 mold somehow more articulated is a flat-out lie.

I'm...pretty sure it looks like you can just swing the hips down to the robot mode configuration, then swing the knees backwards 90 degrees to give the proper tower look, can't you? I know Metroplex has chunky knees, but can anyone check if the knees bend backwards?

They checked, it doesnt work.

Plus, didn't G1 FM have chambers for the upper legs to fold into? I don't see them on Gen. Metroplex, so I'm pretty sure TR FM doesn't have them either.

I would call them more "gaps", but yeah, you can see them. Whats impressive is that while you may think that makes his leg hollow, he actually ends up having actual chambers on the outside like a prison and a hideaway atop some stairs:
Transformers G1 1987 Fortress Maximus Gallery
But to me what makes Hasbro super cheap wth this release is how they couldnt bother to have ramps. Its not hard, look at the G1 toys, just fold them up. But no, lets have the cars just fall off when they reach the ledge of his arms and keep his hands visible.
