Gator mode is sooo good! I love how big it is, almost voyager sized. He went from an "oh no" with his loose legs to "hot damn" once I fixed him up.

So true. Funny you mention the voyager comparison bc I think he sizes up a bit in his beast mode as well. Lots of fun to be had.

Received my Grand Galvatron Takara set this week, which I bought secondhand, good as new, in original box and all. I'll see if I can post pics later.

Thinking about ordering the Sky Reign set of 5 from Kapow. If only shipping weren't so high, but still not a bad price.
Also thought about adding the Bruticus set of 5, but he's a tad expansive, and I prefer the Takara set (for the grey head and space shuttle mainly, and better colouring overall)

Edit: Oh cool, didn't realize the Comp box came with a little poster. And wow, first impression taking it out of the box, the colors are so pretty! Also didn't realize Afterburner got renamed to Afterbreaker. Was that last minute or have I not been paying attention?

Edit 2: Love individual bot modes, I think they all look great. Same for vehicles. Combined mode looks fine, but stability is an issue. He's a bit floppy and hard to pose. The feet aren't that easy to work with. I feel like if I leave him on a shelf he might topple over. An issue I don't even have with Sky Reign.

Oh well, I think this just cements my decision to go with both Hasbro and Takara versions even more. I like a lot about both sets. I might end up turning Hasbro Nosecone into Guzzle(painting his head white and face blue, and not extending the legs for the lil guy look). Then it's just a matter of finding a suitable cannon barrel.

Hm. How the heck am I gonna get Scrounge without paying silly moneys for Computron I don't want?

You might have to hit ebay and check for people parting the set out. I could see some possibly getting rid of him and keeping the rest. Since he's not a traditional member of the Computron team, purists may not care to hold on to him. Also, he seems softer than Cosmos, a little gummy in places. Might help convince people to part ways with him.

I don't think you'll have too much trouble finding one.

I've put 'Transformers Scrounge' as a saved search on eBay that will email me if anything comes up. Maybe I will get lucky. I just have a lot of fondness for the whole Smelting Pool story (and is a big reason why I prefer Blaster as the badass warrior rather than upbeat music lover of the cartoon). Amazing Scrounge finally gets a toy and a few years after Straxus finally did... although man the sizes are all wrong. Straxus is meant to be huge compared to Blaster but Straxus figure looks ridiculously small even next to a voyager class Blaster never mind the new Leader figure. It's so difficult trying to scale match Transformers particularly with obscure characters where it's a miracle if they even get one toy never mind a selection.

Very nice! I'm planning a trip to check out the nearby towns as well as other parts of Cincy. I'm thinking about passing up the Hasbro Scourge in favor of the Takara figure, as I like the whiter paint on the Takara one.

Envying you people finding all the Titans stuff cos I still can't find TR deluxes (I want Hardhead dammit). Argos is useless. They have them listed in their catalogue for £19.99 (already suspiciously expensive compared to usual Deluxe price) and then when you ask to see which ones they got in stock they bring out COMBINER WARS deluxes... which even more of a rip off at the £19.99 they ask for when I've often found those particular ones (Sunstreaker and Prowl) about £12.99 in other shops at times and I passed on them then too.

Supposed to be a birthday treat! Oh well, I bought myself Raphael from TMNT2 and enjoyed playing with him while eating my birthday lunch with my friend who was treating me (she had pizza so I kept having Raphael try to sneak a bit to munch hehe... a grown up playing with toys in public... )

The figures are great, easy to transform, look good in Robot and Alt mode, but combines into Grand Galvatron, it has the problem of becoming unstable due to its own weight. His arms can't hold up the gun properly, and if you pose him with his legs spread out, he's prone to do a split.
Is this a comming issue? Starscream in particular seems to have loose legs.

Hey Sjeng, the CW/UW figures are known to have looser joints specifically in the hips. Most of it can be fixed with floor polish, clear nail polish, or a piece of paper slipped into the socket. You can find some videos on YouTube or ask around on the forums and I'm sure you could fix it.

Thanks to Willy James, I have CW Prowl for my combiner-obsessive friend. I was also given a raincheck so at TrU I could have my first ever TR figure, Galvatron, at CAN20$+tx instead of CAN30$+tx. Also, thanks to that same raincheck, I could have TFP Paralon at 15$ instead of 20$... even though I was not supposed to. The raincheck shouldn't have been aplicable on these TrU exclusive TFP warriors. But my manly charms swooned the young and nice cashier girl into a discount.



I still have to unpack and try them out.

As for the... other metal tidbits, it's material for my next ungodly abobination. Stay tuned and look out for my sig in due time!

My friend and I went to TrU and Walmart in the next town over. As expected, it was thumbleweed city. At least, at Walmart, I found TR Nightbeat. Nice concept, iffy execution. I wont buy more again, except Apeface for nostalgia. Anyway, Nightbeat's plane mode was a mess. Luckily, NOTHING is screwed nor pinned here. So I just had to separate the parts and reverse the nosecone/drill. The results are a very nice jet and tank mode. Only the handheld weapon mode is lost because of the hollow mess.




Then I thought... I'm a "mad scientist". LOOK AT MY SIG DAMMIT! So, do you see what I see here?



That's right. A ROBO CHEST. the only thing left to do is to create a transformable body around that. Appart the reverse nosecone/drill, Nightbeat will be unmodded. The whole thing would just slide into a big chest cavity. I'm working on another project right now but man, this need to be done!

Finally, after weeks of fruitless hunting, I've finally found some Titans Return figures! The local Wal-Mart just got a decent shipment in, found Blurr, Skullsmasher, Scourge, and Stripes there, and the price tags also hinted at Galvatron and Sentinel. I was also able to get both Scourge and Skullsmasher for $14.95 a piece, which also pleased my wallet. Definitely gonna have to keep checking back.

Not that he was on the shelves (there was plenty of TR and I was set to get Wheelie and Optimus Prime) so I had to go ask about him. After nearly 10 minutes of waiting around she came back to tell me "he's in the computer, we just have to find him". So I went to a car show and then came back and the big box was waiting for me.
