Three things to say: One, I had a hell of a time with the back wheel until I realized trying to be gentle was counterproductive. Two, it amuses me that the pacifist is the one toting extra weaponry. Three, I still like Rook better.

I prefer Rook as an arm, personally.

Groove's not bad or anything, but Rook sets a pretty high bar, and a motorcycle scales better at a smaller size. Mainly it's just nice to have a new mold to Scramble with.

Oh, and those of you who want a G1-accurate Defensor, stop for a a second and think about how First Aid looks as an arm. :lol:

I consider TF figures art. There is definitely and art to the entire process; sculpt, engineering, paint... if someone does make a thread or if there is one, please link me.

I was at a somewhat local and mighty well stocked TRU today and left with RID Starscream. Many other RID figures were there to tempt me, but that egomaniac talked me into taking him home. Glad I did. Transformation has a few sneaky twists and he bot mode fits his character very well.

I felt that way for a bit too, but once I thought about how there's already sports cars and fighter jets who are the same size, adding a motorcycle to the mix didn't really seem like such a big deal any more.

I'm a screamers fan and I LOVE this mold. It's royal regal. All he need is a crown and better null rays. On a side note, the big and talkative Power Surge version is really good. But it's not worth full price like the deluxe. On sale, it's a solid purchase though.

Bought this Goldbug new for £12 & free shipping. I know it's a third party (or KO or a third party at that price) but don't know much about these. All I know is that I always wanted a decent Goldbug figure (having previously customed a Classics Bee into one) as I always preferred that form over his original Bumblebee. Was quite surprised at how solid, complex and well designed this figure is. Very happy with my purchase.

Oh and the back of the box is an image that shows it's a Throttlebot combiner? I think I've heard of that but hadn't seen it. I didn't even realise this figure could combine. It's not blatantly obvious like Hasbro's figures and if I hadn't seen the image I may never have known.

Yup, that's the Throttlebot combiner from Toyworld all right.

It's a bit of a bizarre idea, but I suppose it's supposed to be incentive to get the rest since a lot of people don't care about the Throttlebots beyond Goldbug. Not that one can really blame them...

I always had a fondness for the Throttlebots (had the whole team some years ago even if they were very simple toys) and if all the figures are as well designed and nice looking as Goldbug here it may be the first time I collect all members of a combiner team since I was a kid collecting G1 Bruticus.

Who comes with the hands and feet though?

I've never had them before - nor any third party toys before - but they all look pretty good to me. What's fun is that they seem to have a classics-inspired redesign; giving them all unique silhouettes and giving Wide Load in particular a larger size. Gives them a bit more character imo.

There's quite a few reviews on youtube if you wanna check 'em out. The combiner itself is about a head shorter than Energon/Platinum Omega Supreme.

Wow, they really do all look different. Very cool and very tempting.

And the autobot insignia on Goldbug there reminds me I go get my sheet of Reprolabels Autobot symbols so I can put one on my Goldbug. Not sure where. That pic has it on the shoulder which makes sense since that gets hidden in vehicle mode so it's disguised but I may just put a big one on the hood/chest piece.
