I'm selling the seekers

Because having the seeker trio in one fell swoop is just AMAZING! First, this is a great mold and second, it's a very cool display. Unless you have strict rules about collecting a certain scale and whatnot, you should DEFENITELY keep them. You'll regret selling that seeker trio sooner or later for sure.

My Megatrons are both missing their gun though, just noticed. Gonna contact the seller about that.

He still has them, both the Megatron guns and the hands, and Megs's collector card, and he'll post them. So that's solved. Only missing the Armada Megs card and booklet. Oh well.

I'm selling the seekers because of the price tag. I'll earn most of my payment back from selling these, making the cost of the ones I really wanted much lower. If I manage to sell them, and the Armada Megatron, Scattershot, and perhaps Cyclonus and Air Raid too for decent prices, I may even break even.

My issue is that Jetfire is supposed to be big and bad, and stand out. Repainting him into the Seekers robbed him of that uniqueness. It was a cheap money grab.

I can get the 'cheap money grab' angle - though really, when you're into Transformers that's kind of par for the course and was the exact reason there's two Starscream repaints to begin with - but I don't see how it robs Jetfire of anything when the Seekers clearly aren't supposed to be put with him and the whole 'stand out' thing is nullified by there being more than one leader class anyway.

I get that. But then what if you want to get those seekers back some day? I see you wanted Megatron mainly, but you will realize that nothing really fits with how big he is in your collection. Those seekres were made to fix that problem and now that we have a leader Soundwave as well, you now have all the main early decepticons in the right scale all together. And at a good price.

No one will argue the cheap money grab part. However, I dont think that changes Jetfire's uniqueness since those are 2 different scales. I sincerely doubt anyone has these 3 seekers paired up in the same classics scale as Classics Optimus and deluxe skids, arcee and the rest. They are meant to go with Megatron, who is in a bigger scale. And about segregating your mps, you dont know what you are missing, check how nice deluxe warpath fits in an MP scale:



My point is that Jetfire and the seekers are in 2 different collections of mine and never meet and I am ok with that. I never mind having more product and more options since i never feel like i have to buy it all anyways (but I still do.... when its on sale haha).

Also, I remember that you bought my spare MOSC Generations Wheeljack as a gift for some kid in Vietnam. Now you'll enjoy the mold for yourself! Good luck putting the cursed thing in vehicle mode though.

Good memory, yes I did do that. I only realized when I went there for my marraige, that Vietnam doesnt get TF toys distributed to their country. At least not in the more rural areas, all they have are KOs instead and that sadenned me. He liked the MP wheeljack I had purchased in hong kong on my way over so I sent him the gen version as a consolation prize when I got back home. It's his first authentic tf ever (I also sent him Takara Voyager Prime Ultra Magnus, some MP casettes I got 4 cheap, cybertron Scourge and DOTM Topspin). I hope he had fun with them.

Anyways, I now do have that same Wheeljack. I figured I would like him if I want to do another classics photoshoot and I dont intend on getting the CW one. Its fun, he is much more an homage to the toy due to his physique and thats ok, since I have the MP for all my other wheeljack needs.

Oh, I totally agree, I was just trying to make a funny, and it didn't work so well. I'm an elitist, but everyone has to be their own type of collector, and that is okay.
And honestly, with Masterpiece Jetfire coming out next February, this whole Jetfire/seeker repaint issue doesn't even matter.

Anyways Sjeng, I also think you should keep the Seekers. I think they'll be difficult to acquire in the future, and worth more. Hold on to em for a while. If you decide down the line to sell, at least you'll know how you feel about them, and you'll get a little extra coin

Agree. JF always towered the seekers. Hence the fictional animosity between them. Aside from the hollow thigh and forearms, this mold is one of the best modern incarnations for him. The classic/henkei seekers are already the best imho of their modern update.

As for the cash grab, maybe Hb/Takara invested too much in the R and D of JF.

No. I think he's terrible. He looks good in robot mode which is ultimately all I want him for, but I can't remember the last time I was this disappointed by a toy of any kind.
