Well, I did some digging, and I was able to find this on a knockoff thread from 2008.

While the figure does look identical, the colors of the plastic are thankfully off enough to easily distinguish the two. So I feel confident in saying that I purchased a genuine figure.

Glad to hear the differences are distinguishable and legitimacy was determined.

Made a trade with a friend at school (haven't done that since elementary school :lol:

), and will be doing another one tomorrow. But for now, here's my new plastic friend. His name is Steve Gary.

Hello all! I've returned once again to share my latest unexpected TF enounter; Masterpiece Acid Storm!

(Apologies for image quality. My phones in the shop, so I've been reduced to an old handheld.)

Acid Storm here is my first Masterpiece, and a figure I've actually been wanting since I saw him at TFCon last October. I had been checking my local comic shop for backissues and MtG cards, when I stumbled across Acid Storm and TRU Grimlock sitting amongst the Gundam kits. I asked the store owner, and he said that they had been brought in about two weeks ago by a collector who had bought them back in the day to display, but ultimately wound up giving the shelf space to a Marvel Legends lineup. They sat in their boxes for the next few years until the guy decided to sell them.

Both Acid Storm and Grimlock were being sold for $85, and after using a gift card I got during the holidays, I paid a cool $60 for him. I'm really excited to get him into bot mode, and can't wait to display him with MP-36 in the upcoming months.

Woohoo, that is a great looking robot. You are probably realizing it, but that Prime line is the most concistently awesome line in terms of intricate and smart transformations as well as style. It is one of my favourite lines.
