The thrift shops are finally getting more TFs. I found a few this past week and posted the hunt here but this is what I ended up getting. Not bad for less than $4.

That's quite a score, Will! Especially if Banzaitron is not broken and the only thing missing is the main Katana. You can even buy a 3P upgrade kit to complete it.

Also, congrats on Backstop! Most people hate the mold, but he's adowable and the design is brilliant for what it is.

Damn, what condition is Banzai-tron in? I saw one at TFNation for £15 and foolishly passed him up.

Neat! And not too terrible a loss considering how awful and floppy the rubber sword is. Makes me regret not buying him now...Botheration. Oh well, some day.

A shame there'd be no way to work in storage admittedly, but I reckon an upgrade kit for Banzai-tron with samurai weapons other than katanas would be awesome. There's loads of really, really cool Japanese weapons from that era, some of which were actually more popular amongst samurai than the katana. The Yari (spear), Naginata (glaive), Tetsubo (a kind of heavy iron-studded club), Iai(a single-edged, straight sword), Yumi (bow), and maybe even a matchlock rifle (which became VERY popular in with samurai).

Incidentally, who's your favourite out of Banzai-tron and Bludgeon for that mold?

My haul from the past weekend/earlier this week.

First TR Grotusque. Awesome figure, everything I expected. Super excited now that Repugnus has been leaked.

Next up was a surprise (i.e. plastic crack addiction impulse buy) purchase. I was going to skip the leaders for Wave 1 PotP, but damn, OP looks really good in robot mode despite the grey fists. Well, yep, couldn't resist and I bought him. May even give Rodimus a shot if I see him in store (plastic crack addiction is just laughing at me now).

Walmart nearest work finally got the PotP Legends in that everyone else got before Christmas. Still the only PotP anything that I've seen in stores. Picked up Slash and Beachcomber because Windcharger has been sitting unsold at the other local Walmart since the week before Christmas. I get what people are saying about Slash being smaller and less bulky, but to me she isn't all that different from the CW Legends Groove mold. I wish her bot legs blended into the dino torso better, but she's a fun figure. Beachcomber isn't bad, but I wish his legs were slightly longer. He definitely looks better in buggy mode from the top or front than the side, there's something off feeling about it in profile. Overall I've got no regrets.

On a side note, this same Walmart moved all of the TR Deluxe and Voyagers over to the clearance aisle. Six Twinfernos and a single Quake at full price, a Megatron in a crushed box "clearanced" to $23.50. Looks like they're making room for PotP. Surprisingly they still had TLK Deluxe and all of their RID stuff still in the action figure aisle at full price (as well as TR Legends wave 5), all of the other TLK stuff is in the clearance aisle (just RC Sqweeks, some All Spark Nemesis Primes, and bunch of 1 Steps).

I've only had him out of the box so far, so all I can comment on is looks on the Rodimus Prime mode. Holy backpack, like really bad. This doesn't both me as much as some, however. The leg/collarbones are a bit weird.

A word of advice. Guys, don't look at him from directly above in this mode. Seeing Hot Rod doing the splits that way may cause sympathetic pains in the groinal region.

I'll give my thoughts on both the wave 1 leaders later tonight after I get the kids down and have a chance to play myself.

Yeah, I've been watching her (and Misfire's) prices there as well. I'll probably just bite the bullet on that one before she goes over $20. I do have those 1 cent Reprolabels after all.

I also bought Leader class Rodimus, and I like it. At first I was worried because I didn't care for the back pack or the visible Hot Rod arms on the sides, but once I put him on the shelf, those details are not noticeable, unless he is posed with the sides exposed. I like Hot Rod as well, in both modes. I wish I could get him by himself. The head sculpts on both the large Rodimus and small Hot Rod are detailed and the paint is sharp. As for the facial expressions, I like them. Serious Rodimus is serious. It's a nice change from a lot of his previous figures having smiles or smirks on the faces. I never bothered to transform the whole thing into RV mode, as I never cared for that look, ever since G1. But as I said, the Hot Rod car mode is pretty cool. When the figure was first revealed, I didn't like the square chest/front of the car, but now it doesn't bother me at all. This is a positive addition to both my Rodimus collection and my Transformers collection in general. ;)^

You never handled the Hasbro version? Apparently, thats the better mold (though might not be better finished product)
