Opinion: the figure is very cool, the instructions terrible. I had to resort to youtube to figure out what the torso bits should do, because the matte, low-contrast instructions were no help at all. And after transformation i found a second set of instructions in the box, by Takara, which were mostly gloss. Better contrast to the parts that should move, but still not exactly clear as to what goes where....

I used the Ebay coupon on Friday to get myself a Takara Misfire for cheaper than what some of the Hasbro listings were going for, a pretty good deal if you ask me. No targetmaster but I only wanted him to hang out with Grimlock and Krok.

I also have a MTMTE face coming from Shapeways on Monday, which is going to look fantastic on this guy.

How's this related to Transformers? Whelp. It's made by Takara first of all. And it makes a great accessory to a certain MP

I went to my local Geek Store today. You know, the Ali-Baba Cave. I decided I had enough with my MOSC collection and I traded them all to him, Gamestop style. I only keep my sealed Thundercrackers. I unloaded a big box full. He gave me between 25% to 100% of what I paid per figures. Depended witch ones. Grand total was around 300$CAN in store credits. Taxes included this is what that gave me:
First, some free junk for my customs:

That race car is not a TF. I'll still ask what the hell it is in the appropriate thread.
Next is a guy I never thought I'd wanted, Energon Omega Supreme. 100% complete, of course.

Now, that kick ass display is finally completed! By the way, all missiles are stored. Those damn things won't go radomly fly off anymore.

And now, something that I've been eying since last summer. Something that I found too expensive, but each and every times I went to that geek store, I kept looking at it.
It's...
G1 REFLECTOR!

100% complete, even with the Canadian card!
Unfortunately, one head have been gnawn on. Still, 230$CAN taxes included is way better than the 300$CAN + shipping Ebay ask for.

Still, everything else is in top notch condition. Rubsign still working and everything. Those bots are also very posable for G1 figures.

I'm very happy to finally own G1 Reflector. Yeah, the show version is different. So what? Those guys are awesome!

G1 Reflector! Congrats Kan, that's a brilliant find. Reflector is such an underrated team, I really wish they'd get to do more, and preferably get a decent update that isn't an exclusive.
Anyway, today I have a truly special haul. Courtesy of the man who made Combiner Wars actually entertaining, none other than Freddery himself, I have a figure I've wanted for a while but never bought due to the insane aftermarket prices over here- Generations Drift!

He's an awesome figure too. They really don't make them like this anymore. I have precisely two complaints- the rubbery sword (which isn't THAT bad but is minorly irritating) and a slightly overtight ankle joint, which I'll need to fix at some point as soon as I have a bit of graphite powder.
That aside though, he's awesome. I'm so glad I got him rather than going for the RID or movie versions- they looked good, but this guy really takes the cake.

When I was first collecting Transformers, I wanted to collect only Optimus Prime. Then I added Starscream. However, when I randomly checked the Walmart for what other TF there might have, I randomly took HFTD Terradive and Generations Drift. Those two were the ones that broke the dam. I still have them and I will never get rid of them.
So, yeah, a very nice find!
Also, even though G1 Reflector was expensive as balls, I have no regrets. That's one very FUN and awesome trio!

So, I've stated it here and there, but I started go get the RID 2015 for my daughter. HER haul today, warrior class Optimus, Strongarm, Drift, Fracture, Steeljaw, Soundwave, Twinferno, Windblade, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Blur, Starscream, blue shrimp guy(can't remember his name), Bludgeon, CW Firefly, Transformer Adventures Ultra Magnus, and Minicon Sideswipe.
That U.M. is cool, but she needs help with him a little. He feels a little fiddly to me, but nice. She told me she needs more Decepticons, because the autobot would want a "fair" fight.

Are you happier with the UW's? Out of all the CW's and UW's (though I'm still missing a couple) I think my favorites are CW G2 Menasor, CW G2 Bruticus, and UW Bruticus. Although in order to make them great, requires lots of upgrades.Ironhidensh wrote:Depends on how you would define that. I did get rid of (almost) all my Hasbro CW figures, as I find them cheap. So, it's been a fun couple mail days. I think I'll start with this: the Bee Vinyl! I'm still pretty pissed about missing the Prime/Megs variants, but meh, I'll get them some day.

Next up is a sealed (First Run) Takara Dinobot. Another addition to the shrine!

This is something that's actually pretty hard to find (sealed anyways). Takara's first run of BW figures were exactly the same as ours. Then shortly after the show hit their TV's, they changed some of the deco's to be more accurate. And those versions seem to be more commonly found, and the Dinobot's are pretty difficult to distinguish. The only way, is the dino eyes. The first run has yellow eyes, and the second run has pale green eyes. Now I got a sealed pair of each
Packed in with Dinobot, was this beasty VS pack:

Seibertron has been a Killy Punchy place lately, and I wanted to join in
(and thanks to bodrock, I was able
)
I've always wanted KP, but this VS set was a no brainer because I have wanted Polar Claw since I was a kid. Sure, he isn't paired up with PC, but Survive is something I'd want anyways, so two birds!

For me, it's all about the paint apps. Takara is a true artist in that regard. Or at least they were.

So I moved yesterday, and while spending a ton of money on first time groceries, lights, and other appliances for the new apartment, I found these 2:

Bought SG Roddy on sight, went back a few hours later to get OP since I was with my parents at the time as they were helping me move, among many others, and I didn't want to give them a heart attack by getting 2 leaders

Oh man, you will be in for a real treat with that Grand Galvatron. I think that Roller is one of their biggest accomplishments for mainline paintjobs.

Well then she is in luck since the Decepticons are the best part of RID. See if you can get her Megatronus, Thunderhoof and Quillfire, all are great. And if she is ok with getting the same toy but in different colours, there is an orange version of the shrimp guy.

Nabbed these fellas today:

They haven't actually "hit" Canada yet. It was one of those stores that gets them early and a little higher than retail price. I REALLY wish they had the Deluxe's though, I want me some Rippersnapper
Anyone else notice on the back of Hungur's box, there's two pics where they cut his head off?

Hah! They must have accidentally used that alt head they covered up when we first got a glimps of the figure. Remember when they kept using the wrong heads in CW instructions? It's like that all over again.

Hi everyone! Recently bought this toy in China. I'm afraid it may be counterfeit, because I bought it without any packaging, but it looks like it was done from some officially existing mold. It has an on/off button and some kind of socket on its back. Could anyone please help me identify this toy and tell me what purpose the socket should serve?

Re: Transformers Toy haul thread
Completed my POTP Dinobots thanks to Amazon getting wave 2 in stock. Having the complete set is pretty cool. I think all the deluxes are pretty awesome. I do wish Sludge was a voyager because he's too tiny compared to the others. Grimlock is my least fav, and is weak by itself. But as a complete set, this makes me happy. No thoughts on the combined mode because I have no plans on combining them anytime soon.
Separately, I finally got my TR Twinferno. It took multiple emails and phone calls, but HTS finally fixed its error and sent me the figure. It's a better figure than I expected.

Re: Transformers Toy haul thread
I finally finished PotP wave 2 on Sunday and realized I never posted my last 2 hauls. I found the prime masters about 2-3 weeks ago at Target, and got Moonracer from Amazon delivered Sunday. (Sorry, too lazy to take and post a picture.)
The prime masters are as expected. I don't really have any attachment to pretenders, so to me these are just kind of meh, and I honestly don't really care if we don't end up getting a full set. I think I liked the titan masters better.
Moonracer I'm kind of lukewarm on so far. I think arm mode is the best of her 4 options. Robot mode is second to me, but still leaves a lot to be desired. I can normally be pretty forgiving about backpacks, but the sheer size and weight of hers makes her a bit more difficult to pose. Car mode is decent, and I like that it is skinny and longer, as it give a different car profile that anything else I already have. As a few others have commented, leg mode is terrible and will never, EVER, be used by me.

When I got my TR Trigger Happy with two right-side sled guns, it was TR Twinferno that Hasbro sent me because they no longer had Triggerhappy. I would never had bought it otherwise. Still, I was pleasantly surprised. It made me eventually buy the G1 Monsterbots trio. G1 Doublecross is WAY better than TR Twinferno however. If you don't care about the gun, you can get one for a reasonable price to try it out.
