Transformers Toy haul thread
Re: Transformers Toy haul thread
Thanks Will. It does look like the very back on the right side of yours (2nd to last pic) doesn't stay connected too well. That's where mine comes apart too. The rest of my figure isn't too bad.

Got me Studio Series Optimus Prime. Wasn't gonna get it yet but had been feeling down since the death of my lovely pet rat and my studio series ebay search email popped up and showed me Prime for £24.99 and £2.90 postage so thought why not?

Good figure. There's more pics where I posted about it on the Studio thread at transformers-studio-series-discussion-new-2018-movie-line--p1953816.php#p1953816

Lots of people got that Jetfire. Understandable considering the aftermarket prices of the ROTF original.
By the way, I got a LOT of stuff all at once today but I'm too tired to post anything. Will do tomorrow.

Doesn't bother me since I'm gonna paint it and apply stickers when Toyhax have done the sets. Factory paint/plastic does look a bit dark i guess, especially when standing next to brightness of Bee and Ratchet but it's a cool toy and for once I'm actually enjoying changing him into truck and back.

nycPrime wrote:Thoughts on Jetfire? Debating getting it since I missed out on domestic issue.
I've owned it twice (once when brand new in 2009 and once in a ridiculously cheap lot of Animated toys I didn't want just to get the mvovie Jetfire and Mixmaster in the lot I did want... made a hell of a profit with that entire bunch of figures

Actually thinking about it, I wouldn't mind if it didn't connect to Prime (since Studio Prime hasn't been designed with that in mind) as long as it was just a nice chunky Voyager Jetfire similar to how Starscream turned out.

A voyager Jetfire would make no sense. The leader is still too small to be in scale with the studio series!

All right, here's what's I got yesterday. ALL AT ONCE!
Luckily, the post office is just a few street corners away because I don't have a car.

Lots of stuff I got for relatively cheap from Mandrake and even from Ebay! Around 20$CAN of customs hit but only for Megatron. Even though Megs was sold for only 46$US plus shipping. As usual, the Mandrake stuff is left alone, no matter the value.

The non-TF stuff will be better shown in the non TF haul thread. For now, here's two Masterpieces I got:
Exaust from Mandrake and MP-05G from an Ebay novice. Both used but both 100% complete. Except Megs came without the box and was in gun mode. Unfortunately, that orange cap is unremovable. At least it blend in with the gold somewhat.

Transforming Megatron was not too bad even though following the instructions in reverse is not easy. However, Megatron was NOT 100% complete. The left thumb is missing. That's quite infuriating.

I contacted the seller and we settled this. So the seller gave me a 16$US partial refund. That roughly ammount to my custom fees. At least the missing thumb is not apparent when weilding the ball-n-chain.

crappy picture is crappy
Still, that Megatron "prototype" look boss here and I love that gold. It help differentiate him from the pack.

As for Exhaust, That's no "Masterpiece". That's a GENERATIONS figure masquerading as a Masterpiece... Or is it the other way around? I barely looked at the instructions here. It's all big parts that turn and twist around and that's it! The simplest MP ever. And I LOVE IT!
Why Exhaust and not Wheeljack? Simple. Way cheaper and I need more MP

Sweet fancy Moses. That's like one of my hauls 9 months ago. Nice!
Shame about the Megs, maybe you can get a junker for cheap somewhere to get that thumb?
MP-5 isn't great, but I don't harbor any hate for him like the rest of the internet. I've always had a soft spot for him actually. I initially passed on Goldy because I had no interest, but after I decided to go all completionist and nabbed him, I was surprised how much I liked him. The purple on the legs is the best

After getting a hot tip, and running out like a mad man in the middle of the work day, I nabbed these!

Also guess what? Straight off the black market, a coin for MP Cheetor no one ever heard about!

I'm pretty sure I'll score a junker MP-05 sooner or later. Also both thumbs are the same so it increase my chances.
I'm very familiar with the original G1 Megatron so getting Megs back in bot mode was surprisingly easy. I was just overly careful so that slowed me down a bit. Let's hope there will be no GPS down the line.

Not much at the car boot today. There were some movie figures missing too many pieces for me to bother with and some more complete TF:Prime and RID figures I didn't care for.
Ended up just getting this stuff.
Movie Insecticon (my fave Insecticon toy in any TF line... he's just so buggy). Kid said it was 10p but I was like nah, kid, it's worth more, have this £1 coin and he smiled and that was cool.
Tiny metal (but with movable arms and legs) TLK Drift. 10p
Batman symbol cushion £1.50.

It's always fun to find a minibot randomly for so cheap. Because usually, they are in relatively good shape and you don't have to worry about a missing gun.

Quite Possibly my most random haul ever:

RiD Galvatron complete, RTS Solar Storm Grapple complete, Thrilling 30 Waspinator (came mint), Prime Knockout (came mint), generations Thunderwing, and RiD 2001 Dark Scream, all complete.
RiD Galvatron came from a seller in the Facebook group I'm part of, and for $35, I could not pass up a complete version of this guy.
The other 5 came from a local nerd shop I discovered with my girlfriend saturday. Also found a comic store and bought some old Beast Wars TPBs, LL volume 2, and the Allspark Almanac.
All 6 figures between them, including tax and shipping in Galvatron's case, cost me $148

I do find it hard to believe considering the complete Galvatron standing right there

And I'm a bit sad right now with Dark Scream. I saw him on top of a narrow shelf in a plastic bubble, saw the chrome, and beast mode, and picked him up without thought as he was a TM2 mold. They all came with instructions too, but Dark Scream was simple so I thought I was fine (this is where the sadness comes). I didn't know you had to turn his head for clearance, and I snapped the right side of the ball joint holder off

Now I need to go buy glue, and try not to glue the head on since it needs to rotate

Forgot to grab pictures of this, but I had some pretty good luck toy hunting the other day. I found a Studio Series Starscream and a POTP Snarl at one of the Targets near me. For once, toy hunting in Philly paid off.
I was sorely tempted by the POTP Skrapnel that had the Onyx Prime card, but the last thing I need is another Skrapnel toy (especially since I currently own four versions of that mold).

A couple of ebay finds to round out my cons. Darkmount is complete while Skullgrin is only missing the missile pod. First time for me for this mold, was a little bit of a challenge without the instructions, but I figured it out. I really love the 1/2 track tank mode with full rotation and elevation on the gun barrel.
