i thought this was important some what for the univesers fans didnt want to post anything but.

its all ready been but ill asy it anyway start buying those universe figures if you want to see more of them

In an interview that is printed in Toyfare #138 (February 2009 issue), Hasbro's Transformers Universe designer Bill Rawley talks about the future of the Universe line. He states that the Universe line, which is going on hiatus next year for the movie line, may return in some incarnation following Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen but is dependent on several factors. If Universe does return, Bill states that two character on top of his wish list are Generation One Soundwave and Beast Wars Rhinox. The article goes on to state that Rhinox is invisioned as being at least a Voyager-sized figure. While the article provides no confirmation that Universe will return after the movie line nor confirmation of Soundwave or Rhinox being produced, having these two figures on the designer's wish list provides hope that these two characters will receive

GetterDragun is right, We were already told that the Universe line will go on hiatus to make room for the new movie stuff back when the first wave was announced. Then it will come back after the movie line finishes.

Hmmm! Did't really know about this, but this might do the universe line some good by letting some the designers get together and create something new! not repaints of the same old molds. and also pick up some new ROTF figures like soundwave and megatron for examples..

I don't think it's ever been said 100% that Universe will be making a comeback. Hasbro is pleased with its sales numbers though and there's a lot of other figures that could use the love (I'm looking at you Battlechargers)

I have a feeling that ROTF will do well enough to give Hasbro some "flex room"...
Unless the new movie line completely bombs,
I don't see Universe (Classics 3.0) not coming back.
Wouldn't the success of the first movie have something to do with what we're getting now???
Remember that "No more Classics figures" talk?

Even if we only get around the same number of figures as the original Classics line, after the movie toys makes their run,
I'd assume we'll get something in the Universe line.

I doubt I'll be collecting when Universe returns. I'll be at least 31 and it's time to draw my collection to an end unless they put out something really, really impressive like a new G1 homage of Optimus Prime.

I didn't know about Soundwave and Rhinox. His original figure was decent, but should have been bigger than the others, and voyager is right about the right size.

I'm thinking Soundwave will be the oft mentioned re-tooled music label without electronics but with hands and a bigger door.

Rhinox done right would be great, Rhinox done like 25th Cheetor, and Dinobot... not so much.

Soundwave... They've pretty much tried and failed with new versions. Titanium...fail, Cybertron- many considered bad, and movie toy, waiting to be judged.

I'm sure they could do some great stuff if they decided it would be alright to make a tape player, or make him something entirely different like a vehicle with his minions. That's the big thing, he needs his army. Make them minicons already and make them attachable to him in alt/robot mode so it makes sense that he would upgrade with them, or carry them that way and it would be nice.

I think it's way past time for a classics/universe Jazz...

And I would like to see a new Soundwave that was voyager-size to accomodate the new Ravage that just came out...

I also think they should do a voyager-size Rodimus Prime...

Man, I really hope they continue with this line, this is the only reason I got back into buying the toys anymore. They really need to make some kind of mass retail G1 version of Thundercracker, Thrust and Dirge, if they can at least do those, Jazz and Wheeljack I think I'd be satisfied. As long as everyone can get them. None of this convention exclusive crap that is impossible to get. Seriously.

Hey, i'm 35 and i'm still collecting. "It never ends", to quote Furman. :lol:

Anyways, i'd love to see what can they do with Soundwave. I have my G1 replica here, and a Universe version would be great.

I kinda feel the same way...
When the ROTF line comes out, I'm going to try and NOT buy any of those toys.
And I'm also trying to be very selective with the Animated figures I get...
Wreckgar and Swindle are the only for sure buys for me at this point (maybe Roadbuster U.M.)

Then IF Universe returns, just like now, I'm only buying the Classics figures that are new molds
(And I've even passed on a couple of those-- Powerglide, & Silverbolt)
The only exception was my purchase of the Roadbuster/Dirge 2-pk.,
but I didn't have either of those molds yet.

It's time to slow the collecting down...

I will be stoked if they do a new Soundwave. Ideally just like G1 but with better articulation, but I'll be happy if he's given a new alt mode too, as long as he looks like himself and has at least one minion.

It would be cool if the upcoming Ravage could store inside him.

Anyway, I realise this is all a bit airy-fairy at this stage, but Soundwave was one character I thought they wouldn't even consider doing since they released the reissue as part of Universe. So being wrong on that makes me a happy chappy

What we didn't know is that we would get a new g1 Soundwave, AND a voyager Rhinox!

Could get a Soundwave & Rhinox. This is just talk at this stage and far from concrete. But it sounds like, assuming Universe does go ahead in 2010, and I think it is likely that it will, a Soundwave and Rhinox could be on the cards.

Well this is the first I've heard that they're considering Soundwave, which is sweet! I wonder if they're considering using the Music Label mold... I doubt they would put in the electronics though.

I turned 40 this year and have only been collecting TFs for about 18 months - age makes no difference when you're still a kid at heart!

Personally I'd rather see Universe continue alongside the ROTF lines but we all know business never works the way the fans want.

PS this is my 1st post on Seibertron so a big howdy to y'all from Scotland!
