Oh, I know what clunky means. And as someone who owns TR Wheelie and Bumblebee, and PotP Outback and Slash (also CW Blackjack but he doesn't count as a Minibot per se), I don't think they're clunky. They have decent articulation for their size, the pieces don't get in each others' way, they transform fairly smoothly, they scale with modern figures, and they don't have balance issues. How can you call that "clunky"?Stargrave wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:cackman17 wrote:The mini bots in prime wars and titans return were weak. Off scale and clunky. The siege micromasters today are 100% the same scale/version of the mini bots 35 years ago. That’s all I’m saying- it would be cool to see that run again. Maybe “slightly” bigger than the micro masters- barley. It would be cool. But that’s just my take. Not right, not wrong- just my vision.
1. Prime Wars is the trilogy that contains Combiner Wars, Titans Return, and Power of the Primes, so saying "Prime Wars and Titans Return" is redundant and ignorant.![]()
2. So, you're saying that they're "off scale" because they were made bigger than the original Minibot toys to be IN scale with the similarly bigger-than-the-G1-toy versions of the rest of the cast? I don't think you know what scale means.![]()
Or "Clunky" for that matter, because they have decent articulation for their small size. I know, I own some of them.
Redundant, maybe, but ignorant? No, that’s not necessary.
Also they’re extremely clunky. I don’t think you know what clunky means.
I'll show you clunky:

I stopped by my usual Target today and the racks were literally overflowing, with Siege product. Crosshairs and Sideswipe plus a metric buttload of Shockwave and surprisingly a couple of Ultra Magnus. Lots of Siege Micromasters and Battlemasters too. No room for Earthrise if they even had any in stock

I will say, i might get Ironworks now, after having the Micromasters now in hand. Not that they are any different from the Siege line, but with this line we are getting more of that build and play concept like the old Micromaster line.

This could be interesting, much like the Titans Return Arcee and Blurr with that hood which could be held as a shield.Jtprime17 wrote:Arcee, the ruthless autobot warrior, turns into the classic 15-step sports car mode and includes a blaster as an accessory. Wheeljack on the other hand... The older figure already has the classic look and does a nice job with it, plus he has the added bonus of being able to use the original Wheeljack's working launchers thanks to the C.O.M.B.A.T. system's 2010-2011 predecessor, the C-joint system, using the same size clips and bars. Still, Earthrise Wheeljack isn't bad. I'm just personally more excited for the Sunstreaker retool.

And now I'm a little less interested in Arcee. I was hoping she'd have an actual Earth mode like in IDW, but if it's just the same G1 alt mode then that's a major let down for me. Never really cared for the design of it. Maybe when it's revealed I'll change my mind, but at the moment, Arcee's probably a pass

My only issue with it is that everytime I see it, I can't help but feel like they were trying to design a "girl car". Granted, it also reminds me of Penelope Pitstop's car from Wacky Races so that probably is coloring my opinion

I wish they could have gotten a tad more height with Jack’s wings but his fists totally resonate from his G1 toy/animation model for me.
Hoist looks like he’s right off the cover of the Marvel comic page where he’s saving that Bruce Springsteen wannabe. Bravo he looks so spot on.

To be fair, it says both "Earth mode" and "classic G1 sports car mode". It's like the description couldn't make up it's mind. My bet is still firmly on the G1 alt mode, though.

That being said, the G1 car mode technically is an Earth mode, because Floro Dery conceived Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Arcee, and Springer's altmdoes as being future!Earth cars. Arcee in particular actually looks a lot like a Corvette. Seriously, put T30 Arcee in car mode next to G1 Tracks or ROTF Sideswipe in car mode.

The original Gen. Wheeljack was more similar to the original toy with its proportions:

Transformers Generations Wheeljack Gallery
...while ER Wheeljack looks more like the animation. How does that sound? His mold mate Tracks did suffer because of it despite the extended legs, not gonna disagree on that.
