I think with me it will come down to, do I really need him. That Is the urge when you collect, at some point you have to be able to pass on something even if you like it and this maybe one of those times.

Alright. I'm hoping for "submarine" personally. A shame he's not a Leader-class so that he could be a "submarine" with detachable modules.ZeroWolf wrote:ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Did we get details on that Megatron leak or just the name and size class?
Yeah no details about alt mode yet...
Like a "sonar sensor scope", a "torpedo cannon", and an "extended docking anchor"?ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Alright. I'm hoping for "submarine" personally. I... I kinda want a submarine Megatron now, or any transformer like that.

I really hope that gun megs is consigned to the rubbish bin of history. Let's give Megs a visual makeover in the style of Cybertron or Energon, or even better, Animated. Though I suppose there could be a compromise if the gun mode was hidden within the Transformation.
ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Well, SIEGE already gave us Megs as a tank.
I would NEVER want to see a handgun-based Megatron in any non-G1 line. But for this, I would like to see a vehicle shaped suspiciously like a Walther P38, because a Walther P38 iswhat G1 Megs turned into back in the show this is based on. It was mocked even at the time, but there's no changing it. Such is G1's cross to bear.

See that's something Shockwave had a much easier job of, a futuristic space gun is a lot easier to call a spaceship then a submarine that would have to pull double duty as a Walther P38 look alike (question, would they have to get a licence from the gun manufacturer to do it properly? Like getting BMW on board to do a VW Bee)
I can tell you right now that the first possibility you suggested doesn't work. The same leak that revealed Earthrise Megatron, revealed him as a Voyager. That would be no good as a match for Galaxy Upgrade Optimus.Jeddostotle7 wrote:I think this Earth Mode Megatron will most likely be either a Cybertron version, to go with Siege Galaxy Upgrade Optimus, or G2 green-and-purple to give that one an update and take advantage of the Earth vehicle modes theme to give it a more proper tank mode.
Then clearly you've never seen Arcee in the cartoon anyway, because ARCEE HAS VISIBLE FREAKING TIRES!Nemesis Primal wrote:Also, where did this idea that the movie crew were Eath vehicles come from, exactly? I've never actually seen it said anywhere other than these boards, and I don't buy for a second that Blurr and Arcee's alt modes aren't Cybertronian. Hot Rod, sure, Springer and Kup, maaaybe, but Blurr and Arcee are floating Cybertronian shape vehicles like the pilot episode and I've seen nothing so far that's convinced me otherwise.

The idea comes from Floro Dery, the man who designed them. Having trouble tracking down the specific source on it.
Oh, and by the way, the pilot episode Cybertronian vehicle modes don't actually float. Did you forget Bumblebee having to ride inside Wheeljack because of getting a tire shot off?

The second thing you suggested is also highly unlikely, given the core retail line mainly focusing on the G1 cartoon.
I think he's most likely going to be either "Bog standard Earth tank in black and gray with red accents" or "Vehicle with an aftcastle made from his legs collapsing and tucking together, and a prow that ends up offset on his back in robot mode". The former is somewhat more probable, but I'm hopeful for the latter.
