The second thing you suggested is also highly unlikely, given the core retail line mainly focusing on the G1 cartoon.
I think he's most likely going to be either "Bog standard Earth tank in black and gray with red accents" or "Vehicle with an aftcastle made from his legs collapsing and tucking together, and a prow that ends up offset on his back in robot mode". The former is somewhat more probable, but I'm hopeful for the latter.
There is another reason that it's unlikely this will be Cybertron Megatron: ER Megatron will almost certainly be a new mold. While we did get a couple of non-G1 homages in Siege, it was always as a retool of another G1-based figure. I think the only reason we got Galaxy Upgrade OP and Hot Shot is because HasTak needed a way to re-use those molds, and because they probably wanted a leader class Optimus on the shelves. Without a logical mold to use as a base, I don't think we should expect Cybertron Megs anytime soon.
ZeroWolf wrote:How about a leader Class Gigatron/ Rid Megs from leader Doubledealer?it'd be a downgrade but it wouldn't be suprising if they did it to get milage out of the mold. (doesn't answer the question of voyager megs but you know, fun to think about)

ZeroWolf wrote:Well stalker would be a given, either at retail or Selects, maybe Cybertron Defence Red Alert as well (then they can do scattershot in the third part)

G1 happened before I was born, so yeah, I did forget, and yes I have seen Arcee in the show before but I haven't seen the show in years, since I saw it for the first time on The Hub, so I didn't remember her having tires. Shame the source is missing, but I guess I'll take your word on it.

Back to ER OP, well, time will definitely tell once I see him on a shelf. I got it, you can buy on line as they get available but I find it better finding them in the store. So with this version of OP, I believe it will be worth the wait and hunt.
ZeroWolf wrote:Thing is that I can remember something being said about them being designed to be futuristic earth modes (as what people of 1986 thought we would be driving around in the far flung future of 2005-6...or 2010 for the Japanese) but the only one I could think of who would say something like that is Floro but I can't find anything other then his comparison of Arcee to Princess Leia.
As it stands though, not quite sure why it matters Cybertronian design or not. Though I'm always bugged by the fact that the lore hasbro has given for the line says they're exploring the galaxy (hence the star map pieces) yet everyone is already in earth modes!
