And I should have really honed in on the Netflix figures, which is ultimately where my current ire resides.
If it’s any consolation, any at all, the phrasing of your ire was awesome killed me.
There’s just some things only a TF collector can relate to. Like, I just had to start sorting my Siege from my Earthrise. Like when I had to start sorting my CW from my TR from my PotP. I only have so many shelves and I know you know what I mean.
It ain’t just us. Try finding the Mandalorian 3.75 inch figure in a store right now. And that’s not exclusive. I paid a 40% markup to get one, but the starting amount is not 39.73.
As to your other point, some of us are separating Siege from Siege (or trying to), to say nothing of Earthrise from Siege.
There is also the fact that this is the thread for Earthrise so I can see how people would comment more about generations in general. For the netflix line, I think it's a mixed bag and fully dependent on where you are located. There are some walmarts that I see a ton of them, so scalpers (if they are there) are not interested and thus it's only bought by people who wanted them (or in this case, don't want them). And from all the distribution woes I have witnessed from these boards, its more likely you arent seeing the toys because they are not there then because someone took them all.
As for the netflix figures being for fans, I wouldn't claim that in general at all. Especially when you consider they are all repaints of toys collectors and fans already got. These are obviously to accompany the show that will be starting next month, and thus they are for anyone who will watch the show and see them in stores be that fans or kids.
That Magnus seems more fan centric though since I can't think of a parent who would buy that not knowing what it is, but that also suits the higher price point which toys aimed at kids tend to shy away from and leave just for a few items.
