Well a few years back, Hasbro called Punch/Counterpunch a Power of the Primes toy...

My Fasttrack has finally shipped and should be here tomorrow. As anyone received him yet? I'm wondering how his spear mode holds up.

Prowl and Ironhide arrived today!
IMG_7087.jpg

I've already changed out Prowl's head for a Siege one, but now having them both I have to say Bluestreak wears the mold better even if only because of color choices.

Ironhide's red is more muted than his Siege version on most of his body.

I actually suspect Hasbro's original plans for wave 4 were going to be similar to TR wave 6 and PotP Wave 4, 1 new deluxe and repacks for all the others. It actually makes sense that the wave 4 deluxe case would have been Runabout, Wheeljack and Arcee, since the only new WFC-E number beyond wave 3 was Runabout's and the other 2 wouldn't need one. I also suspect voyager Starscream and leader OP would have been repacks for wave 4. Then when covid-19 disrupted everything, they gave Rounabout to Target as an exclusive and booted the repacks to Earthrise, thus cancelling wave 4.

There is no wave 4. There is potentially 1 more unrevealed item, whatever WFC-E28 ends up being.

Next up after wave 3 is Kingdom.

To add further detail, the toys that most likely will have belonged to wave 4 have been put as Exclusives (liks Thrust and Runabout, now Target Exclusives)
The leakers have also implied that ER Wave 4 got cancelled as soon as Siege Wave 5 happened, so Spinister and Apeface would have presumably been involved somewhere in ER, but then some of the ER stuff had to get pulled forwards to fill their slots when they got adopted into Siege.

Thrust was in the TRU leak first with the Selects figures, you're remembering right, the Target listing came later.

Got my Prowl and Ironhide set today

Ironhide: My only let down is that it lacks the 5mm holes on the collar. I think I prefer the real van grill we got as a trade off, but I had some accessories mounted there that do not have a home now. Love the van mode. Feels solid and hefty. I used one of the Nonnef 90* peg benders to give the shield a proper handle. Much improved that way. I am bummed the roof prevents the DSM transformable feet from working with this iteration, but I cant fairly hold that against Hasbro. I do ish however they had done that themselves from the start.

Prowl: honestly? Not feeling the love. The Vehicle mode. Is not entirely slotting together right. Probably have an arm tirned the wrong way or something bit its not as clean as the Siege one. And his torso is not locking into the waist like it should, and like the Siege one does. I'm gonna use this as Prowl to distinguish him from Barricade, but this turns me off from getting the other 3 Datsuns. Feeling more and more like I will cancel the Dominus set.

Amazon came through and delivered my Fasttrack tonight.

Initial thoughts: he is down there with Airwave, the Quint, and the micros as one of the weaker Earthrise figures, and the weakest of the 4 Weaponizers. The robot and alt modes are fairly nice, but he isn't very weapon compatible to me, and his spear mode isn't really that good. The handle is so flimsy and it isn't working very well in Scorps grip either.

so overall, he's OK, but nothing to write home about. Trailbreaker just blows him away in terms of quality and fun factor

For those with Trailbreaker and his radar dish from the Centurion drone pack, you can store both the dish and his gun in car mode.

Also, Trailbreaker, be careful with your shoulder cannon, only use it while looking straight ahead...

So I swapped heads with Prowl as I said I would.
IMG_7092.jpg

It was more difficult than I thought due to the tightness of the head on the Earthrise figure as well as the fact that the Earthrise ball joint is somewhat larger than that of the Siege ball joint, but they still fit. No Dremel needed.
IMG_7093.jpg

Overall, I think it is closer to the mini-Masterpiece look, despite some of Hasbro's deco choices.

Presumably Siege wave 5 (plus Astrotrain) would have all been part of ER wave 1 with everything in ER getting bumped up a slot. ER wave 4 would have been tacked on later since both Siege and ER were planned for 4 waves each, but we would have gotten 5 and 4 if COVID hadn't set the plans back.

I seem to remember someone posting in this thread that a leaker had said Runamuck and Earth Soundwave were intended for wave 4 before being moved elsewhere. I think Elita was always going to be Netflix while Bumblebee had been planned for ER, but the approval from VW came so late he was never going to make it to ER even in the best of times so he got pushed off to Netflix. I'm sure their real goal was to get him in both lines, but had to settle for just Netflix. I wonder why he couldn't used in Kingdom?

My Ironhide/Prowl review, copy/pasted from Facebook.

So, Ironhide and Prowl thoughts. I came into this set expecting to love Prowl and not like Ironhide as much as Siege. Now I've fiddled with them, I was pretty on the nose.

Prowl isn't spectacular but he's definitely a Prowl. I got Smokescreen a week or so ago so I knew what to expect from the mold already. I think if I could give him Siege's lower legs, clear wheels, and the yellow highlights, he'd be perfect. I will probably swap his head with the Siege version since he's got Bluestreak's head. The big issues he has are some... I guess warping on his main body piece. It doesn't align with his arms right, so you have to work to get them to tab in. Once they're locked in they're solid but it takes a little effort, especially on his right side. Also, I didn't realize this until after taking the pictures, but his neck panel is supposed to snap into his torso, and it took an almost frightening amount of force to do so. Seems to have been a first time problem, now it slots in without issue. Anyway, if you own one Datsun you own them all, there's no surprises here if you've already handled Bluestreak or Smokescreen. Most notable thing is that he has Siege Red Alert's lightbar piece instead of Siege Prowl's, and it is clear plastic painted solid red and black.

Ironhide..... he's alright, fixes some issues I had with siege (the flimsiness of the leg panels and the gap where the biceps are in alt mode). I admire the attention to detail in the sculpting, like the windshield wipers on his chest or the windows on the rear of the van. There was a bad QC issue with a tab from the mold that wasn't cut off enough, I had to disassemble his torso and slice that off (last two pictures are that piece on the ER and Siege figures to compare). He reuses 28 pieces from the Siege figure and has 12 new pieces making up his body, plus 8 for his weapons. Aesthetically he's better in hand than I thought he looked from the preview pictures, but paint and plastic choices were certainly made here. While the Siege figure is a vibrant, bright red; Earthrise is three different shades of red. His forearms and feet (which I assume are on the same mold sprue) are a similar red to Siege. The backs of his legs, biceps, and shoulder attachment (all parts inherited from Siege again) are a more maroon shade. Contrarily, the new pieces (including his head, which is a new sculpt) are molded in a paler red that's almost pink. The clear window pieces have red paint to match this shade. I have no idea why they didn't mold all these parts in the same shade of red (or since they appear to be different types of plastic, very similar shades like Siege). That aside, there's also some areas lacking paint that could really use it. The Siege painted the interior of his robot chest silver, which really pops through the clear window. The ER figure, however, is unpainted in there. While it's admittedly a fake alien vehicle that doesn't ahve to look much like anything, the Siege figure had some silver stripes down his les that could be seen as possible windows in his alt mode. The Earthrise figure has molded windows, including two that continue from clear window parts on his roof piece, but they are not painted, only his iconic yellow stripes are painted on, as well as some door handles. This makes the rear of his vehicle mode look REALLY unfinished. There's also a red patch on his crotch on Siege that's unpainted on the ER, which much like Prowl's accents, is not essential but it would help break up the monochrome. However I guess most of the paint for this one went to the bumper areas and masking the clear plastic. Before I move on to the biggest change of this mold, I want to compliment the molding on the interior of the van panels The ones that make the outside of his legs make sense for looking like they do, , but the ones that form his shins are never seen from the inside, and yet they're detailed in there beyond what parts are necessary for function. I didn't think to photograph them but they're impressive for parts most people will probably never look at. In fact, the Siege figure did the same thing and I only just noticed it now.

Now for the elephant in the room with this Ironhide, and the reason he can't be sold as a normal deluxe: the roof shield. Siege IH was already on the big side for a deluxe and compensated for it with lots of hollow voids in unobtrusive areas. To make a convincing Earth van out of this mold, the designers gave him a new roof piece with windows to fill in the gaps. This is a hefty chunk of plastic and it doesn't DO much. It turns into a riot shield but unfortunately the peg isn't pointed in a way where he can hold it like a normal shield, so you have to mount it on his arm or shoulder instead. Not the end of the world, but options are nice. There is a neat feature where sliding the mounting peg moves a gun array in and out. It's a serviceable shield but it is quite LARGE and so your options are somewhat limited. It can go on his back, but.... why. I suppose it hearkens back to the original Ironhide toy and its Diaclone predecessor, which was just a mobile battle station with the infamous "battle sled" made from the entire lower half of the van, but that might be giving too much credit. It exists because they wanted to turn Siege Ironhide into an Earth van and there was no easy way to resculpt the roof of that figure while maintaining his shape in robot mode, so they just slapped a roof on there.

also he comes with a dinky little pistol but I will probably continue to use Sixgun's legs as cannons for him so whatever.

I was initially going to sell Ironhide from this set and keep the Siege one as my shelf Ironhide, but now I'm not sure what I want to do with him. He could be great with some deco changes. Both molds have their merits, I kind of want to lean towards earth modes rather than cybertronian, because that's their more iconic look, but unlike Prowl where there's a clear improvement, Ironhide is more of a lateral change and I'll have to think more to decide what I want to do.

Wow, great review, thanks! Amazon says my 2-pack should be here on Wednesday and I've been looking forward to it. I also have Siege Ironhide and I doubt I'll keep both, so I have a tough choice ahead because I really like the Siege mold, but I'm also leaning towards earth modes for the same reason you are. I might keep the Siege version around and headcanon him as Inferno, until an actual Inferno figure comes out.

Siege Prowl and Ironhide "could" be repurposed as generics if that's your thing.

Prowl as an Autotrooper or maybe some obscure character like hey Prowl-2 is an option.

Ironhide as a generic Autobot like those in the Bumblebee movie Cybertron sequence (who also happen to share the Ironhide/Ratchet body type from that movie)

Only thing is simply the headsculpts being too similar to each other, although stickers, making some faceplates/visors from house materials or even shaving/trimming parts of the headsculpt although damaging figures is probably not an option I presume people would jump at.

Man, Target on their bullshit again. Now Sunstreaker has been delayed to the 16th. Found him on Amazon for regular price so I ordered him there too. After Target just canceling my Quint that I got on sale I obviously can't trust them. Sucks because Sunstreaker was $3 off on Target plus the 5% Red card discount but oh well.

I also double ordered not trusting Target for Trailbreaker and Sunstreaker. I got both under BOGO sale, so I would rather have the Target price. Trailbreaker already arrived and Sunstreaker is due in Wednesday from Amazon, while Target delayed both to the 16th for me as well. Hopefully they do actually ship from Target and I'll return them to Amazon if they do.

I've been dealing with Amazon all morning. I was supposed to get my Autobot Alliance 2 pack on Wednesday, checked it today and its saying the 20th now. Same thing happened with my Skywarp and Thundercracker before it finally got canceled. What is the point of a pre-order if they cant even fulfill. Nothing worse than an Amazon Exclusive. This has me worried about the Galactic Odyssey line now. I really don't want to deal with this every time. Has anyone had any luck with actually getting their figures in this situation? It just seems like logically if they had them they would ship them now. Obviously they don't, since it is an exclusive it doesn't seem like they would be able to get more after the initial supply.

Got shipping confirmation from Amazon early this morning for my Fasttrack, should be here wednesday. . So I strongly believe, that wave 3 will be shipping as normal and will receive full saturation soon, which makes me wonder what is going on with wave 2? I mean I have the ones I want thanks to online ordering, but what happened to them at retail? If these all appear at some discount store inaccessible to most fans in a few months, that is a huge screw up on somebodies part, because they would have sold so well, just like all the other ER deluxes, you can barely find them anywhere at the moment.

Keep in mind your local experience may not reflect other areas. I've seen ER wave 2 deluxes in Walmart, Target and Meijer stores by me. Wave 1 still dominates the shelves, but wave 2 in making its way in there, at least by me. Nothing like TR wave 5 where I only saw evidence of it once (2 wolfwires that were definitely not from wave 2).

I'm sure their real goal was to get him in both lines, but had to settle for just Netflix. I wonder why he couldn't used in Kingdom?

I don't know if I made the exact post you're referencing, but I know I made some similar ones here and on the Netflix thread, and from what I've seen:
-Siege Wave 5 "killed" ER Wave 4, so presumably all new mold figures in Siege Wave 5 were meant for ER (and I think someone looked and a bunch of their product codes lined up to prove that, or something?)
-Netflix Soundwave and his cassettes were planned for mainline ER but there wasn't room, so they got shunted to Netflix because their retooling exceeded the Selects figure criteria/budget
-Elita-1 was originally planned to be a Selects figure, but got moved to fill a slot
-Bee and Elita replaced two "less desirable" repaints, one of which was specified by the leaker to be a "flesh-colored" Ironhide with green windows and eyes (I guess a G2 Power Master homage, or some generic from the show?)
-Bee wasn't going to get made at all without the license and was very last-minute, dunno if he was planned for mainline ER, and they had to use some of his development budget to pay for said licensing, which is why he has the same accessories as Cliff instead of his gun that got put in the weapon pack
-Not sure if you meant to type Runamuck or Runabout, but I didn't see anything like this about either, although Runamuck being in Wave 4 and then getting pushed forward would align with Impactor and Mirage having been Wave 4 figures in Siege

Is it possible that Ratchet was intended to be a mainline release as well? Galactic Odyssey was very last-second with no major tooling being made and Ironhide was already planned for the Prowl Two-pack, so I feel Ratchet was meant to be the mainline release of that mold (Similar to how Smokescreen was the mainline Datsun instead of Prowl).

Also, a leaker recently stated that there's two more ER Prime redecos in the pipeworks, they didn't specify what toylines or which version of the mold (with or without trailer). I wonder what's planned... I'm hoping one is Pepsi Convoy because I find his existence extremely funny. I really don't know what other decoes they could do from that specific figure though.
My (semi)obscure wantlist:
CHUG PCC Smolder - CHUG Clench - SS 07 Payload

It's certainly plausible, as I think the leaker in question said that the GO sets are basically just for overflow that didn't have spots, and a number of users were speculating mainline Ratchet for a good while.

I'm personally hoping for Toxitron. :CON:
