I wasn't overly impressed by the turret-sword on Earthrise Megatron at the Toy Fair reveal but I thought that if he actually had that lovely silver paint job, it would be worth getting. Well he doesn't, just drab gray, and to add insult to injury they added a bunch of battle damage to his legs, we were supposed to be done with that gimmick. Fortunately the Netflix deco of Siege Megatron does it for me, and that's who's sitting on my shelf now.

The quintesson looks good but I'm just not sure I have a need for it. I'll probably grab an Alicon or two. Snapdragon is bought on sight. Scorponok looks like Scorponok and I'd like it but I don't think I have a spot for it, and I wasn't able to grab a Fort Max for him to fight either. I need to get a new shelf....

Well anyway have a picture of my display, because I'm quite proud of it.

I really don't understand why Megatron's alt mode would have a seemingly weaker canon than his fusion canon. At least with the Siege figure it looked like the tank canon was maybe concentrating the fusion canon's blast, but for the ER figure the two aren't lined up, the fusion canon is just filling in space and the tank canon isn't even worth using as a gun in bot mode. Now, I get that that's decidedly less absurd than turning into a god tier hand gun, but they could have done something to better integrate it into his alt mode.

And now an observation that I hope I'm reading WAY too much into.






Can they rework the Godzilla mode into a tank?

And yes, I know Snapdragon's original figure's jet mode looked even more like Overlord's jet. I'm not being entirely serious.

Naw they just happen to both share very, very similar alt modes in G1.

You just gave me some ideas, I've been thinking about reworking some spots in the collection, and I might have some more shelves here this weekend, and that Devy pose is pretty good, especially with Screamer on the shoulder

Earthrise Scorponok is ready to ship out in a few weeks and we are getting more photos of him in hand. Takara posted images showing his scale with other Titans like Metroplex, Fortress Maximus, and Trypticon. We also have an image of him and all his Transformers Earthrise brethren which includes a properly transformed Earhrise Arcee, the Quintesson judge, Doubledealer and Snapdragon.

What do you think of the scale, and will you be getting this Titan day one or waiting for a sale?

So before, someone said that alicon should have been a voyager class. Reason I bring that up is looking at that picture of the Quint Judge and Alicon, surely this is proof that deluxe was the proper scale?

He does. Maybe because a lot of WJ's bulk is in his legs while SS carries most of his in his upper body. He seems a bit taller as well.

Love all the micromasters inconspicuously posed leaning against bigger bots' legs cause only, like, half of them can stand on their own. Great little guys, but they definitely stay in vehicle mode most of the time.

That aside, I can only dream to have those four Titans lined up one day, Unicron in the middle. If I can afford them maybe I can afford a strong enough shelf to hold them...

I don't know about that. Ever since Trypticon was hugely discounted, they haven't really done it. I've still only ever seen Omega Supreme stay full price, if not sold out completely.

One thing for sure. Wetawds price drops like for Metroplex and Triptycon is a thing of the past. Now they seem to not overproduce the titans and they seem to be fairly distributed. Sales still happen but they are more "normal".

When Omega came back in stock at Walmart at 200$CAN instead of the normal 250$CAN, I made sure to get him. It was around the 3rd time I saw it on sale, but the sales mostly happen at Toys R Us.

It will be the same thing with Scorpy. I'm not paying 250$+ for him, but at 200$ or lower, I'll bite.

Well IMO Scorponok is the best-looking Titan yet, so I think he's worth the preorder price. I just hope he doesn't turn out to be hollow everywhere like Metroplex and be really light. But it doesn't seem to be the case.

The shelf strength struggle is real! I have a shelf that's bowing in the middle from Legends Grand Maximus's weight. No idea how I'm going to display Unicron...

Since army building isn't exactly cheap, I'm planning to get just a pair of Allicon to flank the Quintesson, with the idea that these are his goons which protect him. Getting just one is not enough for something meant to be army built but he's still a Deluxe and those obviously aren't completely cheap. Two seems like a good number: enough to form a guard position around the Quintesson, as well as to display in different modes, no?
