ugh, everyone on here talking 'bout their local target having scorponok, and the nearest store to me that has one is 200+ miles away (I live in chicago-land) :BANG_HEAD:

That's how it was with the Seekers when they first dropped. Scorponok surprised me as there was a couple on the shelf plus a lot of Earthrise, both Voyager and Deluxe. This is my first city bot so I had to grab him.

Well, that's the thing, the seekers are being sold at every store, but it looks like only 1 out of every few districts is gonna stock scorponok right now, so they have fewer stores to spread their volume out to, so it makes sense that the stores that are gonna get it would get a couple

Sometimes, actually most times, I do not understand retail decisions. I'm sure there are some analytics somewhere that informs decisions but they don't make sense to me.

I'm guessing that, since this is the first time a titan has been sold at retail since TrU closed, target's testing to see if it'll sell at all; they carry a large selection of high-priced items during christmas, so they might be seeing if it'll sell, and if it does (which it is) they might make it a standard item for all stores later, I think it being at certain stores has to do with the 'collectors corner' thing they launched a little while back.
It's also possible that hasbro can't produce enough to stock every target in the US right now due to current circumstances
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

Doesn't make sense to me why a huge population area like Chicago and its surroundings wouldn't be well stocked with something like Scorponok so they could make a killing with sales.
On my side of Connecticut I never saw the seekers at all in any Target I've been in, but don't plan on getting them anyway. But definitely agree the distribution has been spotty and doesn't make sense.

The Titan Master that comes with Scorponok is cool but I think the middle stage figure, Mega Zarak(?), looks interesting with the Titan Master Scorponok that came with the Titans Return Grotusque NYCC 2017 figure. This way all three stages have Scorponok's face.

D-Maximal_Primal, those pictures are pretty cool. You got a whole Autobot city going on with all the A.I.R. lock stuff connected. I need to put Astrotrain back into shuttle mode and get him ready for lift off.

That's nothing! Minnesota is the Motherland of Target. In and around the Twin Cities area, you are never more than 10 miles from another Target store. They are EVERYWHERE.

Colors mismatch non-wistanding, the theme of that setup work very well!

All it need are Trypticon, leader Overlord, and leader Black Shadow for some overkill.

Dude, that's a good call. I don't think these ER figures are the best there will ever be, but taking in consideration both the past and what's been recently available, they're really pretty good, at least in terms of appearance.
I have one opened figure from the Siege line, so I can't really speak to transformation enjoyment, overall QC, etc., because I have very little personal frame of reference.
So maybe there are issues that will make it easy for some to pass on a lot of these ER figures.

But if you don't have a Prowl in your collection, I'd go for the 2 pack. Even though you like your Siege Ironhide, the ER version's bot mode is pretty on point. Not sure how you display your collection, but maybe have the Siege IH in alt mode since it's relatively unique, and have the ER IH in bot mode.

These are already overpriced imo. All of them. Yeah Ironhide's a large deluxe, so I'll call that a win.
But when all the other deluxes are $20+, assuming you already have your favorite character(s) it will sting quite a bit to have to buy any later on when getting them for original release price is either a hassle or just not likely. Wait for a sale and who knows if you'll get what you want.
I buy what I really like, but I can't imagine paying anywhere close to $30+ for one of these deluxes.
The average price for Siege Skywarp on the 'bay is $70 (& in most cases that's not including the shipping cost you're covering).

When Amazon runs dry, I'm betting the price for Prowl & Ironhide is $65-$80.
I'd bite now.
Oh, and don't forget you'll have until November to cancel if you change your mind.

I usually only have one figure per character in my collection (with a few exceptions), and Siege Ironhide was the first figure I'd bought new in-store in 10 years, so it has a sentimental value that ER Ironhide could never match. So I'll probably just end up selling ER Ironhide and making some of my money back, because as you said, these figures aren't particularly cheap. And given what usually happens to Amazon exclusives, maybe I'll hold on to him for a few months and let my investment mature a bit.

This is why I've chosen to purchase the exlusives even if I ain't feeling it at the time. I can always hang on to it and sell if need be. Transformers are practically an investment when you see some of the prices on eBay.

Also, I totally would have missed out on the Decepticon clones if they weren't an exclusive. Had no desire for them at all then once I had them in hand they were so friggin' cute I had to open the box right up.

I still think Scorponok is the best Titan yet, and I haven't even handled him. Just looks solid, proportionate and accurate. I think that about Omega as well, but compared to Scorponok Omega looks kinda boring, even if he's fun to pose and play with.

You know a figure is a failure when simply sitting down is "base mode." I know we can say that about figures from the 80s and even the 90s, but it's inexcusable for a figure from 2013, especially a Titan that's supposed to be complex.

Anyway, let's get back to Earthrise talk, Titan Metroplex belongs in the Titan thread.

This is my first city bot but I'll probably keep him in titan mode for a bit. His right shoulder ratchet is a lil loose compared to the left. He can hold Siege Prime in his left hand with the arm straight out but with the right arm, I gotta bend at the elbow and then he can carry Prime at waist level, like a dude walking around the party with a beer can he knows he isn't going to finish but doesn't want someone to give him another.

I'm realizing more and more that TF collecting is like the stock market, some figures hold value, some gain value and some lose value. The tricky part is predicting it; I bought Siege Thundercracker as soon as I saw him because I thought (for whatever reason) he would be harder to find later, and boy was I wrong.

D-Maximal_Primal, not sure if you saw my pics on the previous pages, but once you get Scorponok, that table won't work for you anymore ;) .

I feel odd now that I own every TR/Legends leader class figure with a base mode and every Titan so far, I don't have adequate floor space to build the ultimate city....As Megatron would say...How Ironic....

I have a covered patio outside. I may just have to take a whole day and plan a photo shoot.
