I hadn't really thought to compare Siege Megs to Classics. To me Classics toys by now are kind of in a league of their own. The league of, "they just don't make 'em like that anymore". Out of the 3 you mentioned, I think Classics is still the superior toy.
I honestly think TR megs is the ultimate ideal design idea for megs, he would just turn into every war machine to kill everything, nothing could stop him; only problem I have with the TR version is the disproportionate head in relation to his massive torso, it felt so grossly out of proportion with his head, which looked laughable on him
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

I can absolutely see why, given a few small design changes and maybe a slightly denser plastic, he could have been the definitive megs for another whole generation and maybe rank up there with o/p, sadly, he's likely to be overshadowed by literally every other figure from the line

Every other figure has a degree of quality I feel has surpassed most of the Prime Wars Trilogy stuff, Megatron however feels like a RID '15 Warrior class toy. Now, I really enjoyed that line but the quality was weak. Megs feels hollow and flimsy. I pick up Prime and I know he's in my hand. I pick up Megs, and I have to double check to make sure I got'm!Hellscream9999 wrote:Lunatic Prime wrote:Then why did you get it?Hellscream9999 wrote:Same, I just kinda hate the mold in general
I didn't know about it's issues until after I got it open, it's weirdly flimsy and thin, nothing locks together for his neck, and the stupid detents in his elbows really hamper his poseability;
It looks great, does clever things with it's transformation, has awesome weapons, but it's held back by the baffling design choices they went with on the figure![]()
I also realized while inspecting the tilt issue that his feet slide off real easy. I wonder if you spread that split tension peg's tines apart a bit, if it would increase the tension?
Thats a pretty good assessment. But is this a better G1 megs than the TR or Classics one?
For me, I find I actually prefer the Megatron pretool for TR Blutzwing over Blitzwing. Its a Great use of the mold and feels like a Megatron. Sadly, I have lost the Fusion Cannon for mine so he is a bit naked.
As to which is better, alt mode wise its TR all the way for me. Even with plabe kibble the Tank mode and Jet Modes feel like they should. Siege Tank mode just feels like they cheated with the alt, especially when compared to his wave mate Optimus who's truck mode does all kinds of panels and inversions to hide the robot bits. However, for Bot mode, Siege is my preference, and for that I think I will stick with Siege over TR as my de-facto Megatr9n. The Black hrlps make the grry pop, TR Megs is too vanilla a color. The Siege Fusion Cannon is meaner looki g too. The Sword/Gun thing doesn't grab me much, like any MechTech type weapon its kinda bulky and wierd I am this close to unscrewing the sword blades and just using the gun part. A company called Deep Space Arsenel has a nice, affordable light saber for Siege Megatron if I feel the need to give him a sword and I have a painted Arms Mircon wrecking ball dude I did way back for Combiner Wars Megatronthe Siege Megatron is using too.

Ditto and better than TR. Now I do think TR Megs is a fine example of the character and wears the mold surprisingly well. Siege is just more fun all around. TR is just super fiddly in all three modes and requires a lot of massaging to get the pieces to stay put. Siege Megs is solid possible figure that is simple and fun to play with.Nemesis Maximo wrote:I like Seige Megs better than the Classics oneCobotron wrote:I'm glad you asked. I agree, classic figures are in a league of their own, an outdated one
If I'm looking for a modern Megatron to plop on my shelf, Siege is my guy. Ow with all that being said, Megatron is one of the weaker figures of an incredibly strong line.

Re: Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Discussion Thread
For me, I'd put them: Siege, then TR, then Classics
For me Siege is the best G1 representation despite not being a gun. While the Classics might actually be the best toy/transformation overall, I can't stand the shell wings in robot mode, so he is by far my least favorite.
TR is a very close second, as I really like the mold, but the color and the fusion cannon just aren't as good as the Siege version for me.

I would actually put him between Siege and TR for me, but the original question and comments focused on just the voyagers. I seemed to like him more than most. Best tank mode by far, but I hate the way the fusion cannon interferes with the arms in bot mode.
Plus for me now that we're getting most of the main players with decent Voyager molds, he is too big.

Re: Transformers War for Cybertron: Siege Discussion Thread
CW Megatron kinda doesn't count, he's just too damn big to go with much of anything except the other awkwardly big leader figures from that line. I see him as a one off figure. I think the figure looks great and was surprised about the amount of silver paint. The transformation seems a little simple for a figure that large and articulation feels lacking. Tank mode is really cool and looks even better repro'd up. Overall I like the figure but he just isn't definitive in any category other amount of silver paint used.

One other cool thing about TR megs in his G1 deco, thats a Hasbro exclusive.

CW/Armada Megs looks like a tubby old British guy telling stories about his adventures hunting Rhinoceros in the 1800s. Except not as fun.

Finally found siege in store. I got all the wave 1 deluxes and target masters and shockwave. I love everyone but shockwave. Sorry for beating a dead horse but he is just too small for the price for me. Something as simple as making the feet attachments a bit taller would help.
On the positive side I'm really enjoying cog and can't wait for the rest of the weaponizers.

Hellscream9999 wrote:Wolfman Jake wrote:Hmmm...I just watched a video review of the 2005 Transformers: Cyberton Leader Class Optimus Prime figure. I never had the figure myself, but I think a little bit of nostalgia is rosening up some collectors' glasses on the toy, honestly. It's big and chunky, yes, but it's also very basic in its transformation, not especially well articulated, and way too heavy for its own good, especially in Super Mode. At least we know the upcoming SIEGE homage will have ankle tilts! There are parts and panels that don't really seem to "clip" into place, like the side windows of the cab and the "wings" when folded up into trailer mode. The loss of the "flight mode" seems to be no big deal either, as it looks even more ridiculous than the "plane mode" on Titans Return Voyager Optimus Prime with the primary wings stuck on the back end of the fuselage.
I don't think so, everyone (myself included) has been pretty up front about it's flaws, and it has them too. But the thing I think has everyone excited is:
-It's not G1 (trust me g1 fatigue is real and as it encroaches on other lines (ss for one) it's only going to get worse)
-The original is an extremely fun toy, and that people still want it is a testament to how it holds up
-It's not a 'g1 with knee's' scenario, its a completely different take on a figure that technically needed no updating (I'd argue that a reissue with better ratchets is warranted) so it's not necessarily competing against it's older counterpart
-It's a more budget-friendly option for newer collectors to obtain, remember cybertron came out almost 15 years ago, the movies and shows that came out after it, ushered in so many new collectors that had missed out on this gem (and many other), so now they have a chance to get a version of it to experience;
So all in all, I think this is not only going to be a fun toy that many collectors are going to want for a wide reaching number of reasons, but also offers a small breath of fresh air from the stringent g1-itude of the line, which is something we all need every now and then.
i agree with at least one thing:
just like all the G1 homages & BW MPs,
it allows for those collectors
who either missed out or where too young
to get their mitts on the toy they loved
but was always outta reach.
That is exactly why i LOVE all the G1 recreations
and have yet to feel the fatigue
I was a child during G1.
My parents were poor.
But luckily, a second chance presents itself.
