I think you mean the Rook mold for example but that's pretty different. Impactor's thighs don't collapse into his lower legs. The hind treads just rotate on the side to end up besides the front treads. Kind of two layers of treads ontop of each other.

The new size class is the Jetfire figure. Commander class right?

Yeah, I think he's saying who else could be in that class. Tidal Wave would definitely be my top pick! They could do an update of the Cybertron giant guys like Metroplex, but it probably wouldn't be that much different in size than the leader that exists right now, considering how the leaders have downsized so much. Maybe a new Unicron or Primus? I don't know why those guys wouldn't be titan, except that there's no reason they have to be either since they'll never scale with anything.

My money's on Scorponok. A city size is too big for him, especially if they retain the Head/Titanmaster gimmick.

What about Fortress Maximus?

He required a nesting egg doll Headmaster's Headmaster gimmick to work at his scale. Scorponok does not have that.

Ah, you're right. The transformation is way different. I was picturing the TFCC version, which was a repaint of CW Rook, while writing down my musing earlier. Still, hollowness in those parts from that angle is very familiar now because of many other CW/UW toys. Plus, we've had a lot of tanks with that style of tread recently too, but none of them look to be directly related to the engineering or molding of SIEGE Impactor.

No, main line Siege is free from retools from older lines. However, Impactor does have a similar transformation to some Megatron toys, like Cyber series and T30 Legends, and he transforms back to front (the legs swing back).

Everything looks absolutely incredible.. Until you get to the faces. Maybe it's just me but Jetfire is the only one with a decent face sculpt. I'm hoping these will look better in hand because for the most part Hasbro has been absolutely killing it with face sculpts for pretty much the entire prime trilogy and all of siege so far so it'll be incredibly disappointing if these are the finished products.

I'm going to echo what I said in one of the movie MP threads a while back and say that I'm finding it hard to justify collecting both generations and masterpiece. They're becoming very close in terms of design and even articulation so I may have to rethink my collecting habits.

Ah, I wasn't aware they weren't retooling from old molds any more, told you I don't have a good eye for this.

It's a strange phenomenon this, like deja vu for molds, with the whole it not being a retool but me having the weird feeling it is.

SIEGE Chromia appears to be more of a case of copied engineering with very, very few parts directly lifted from the Moonracer/Firestar mold from PotP. Not even the transformation is exactly the same, if I recall from the TonTon video review a few weeks ago.

And minor parts reuse like the upper legs. I only count retools if the majority of the body is intact, which is the case with Greenlight, but nor Chromia.

It is, especially when you look at the added effect of the "mask" for his head, but it is missing the antennas of the original. Otherwise, it does have a few of the colors off, with a load more black, and a larger backpack. I would definitely say that it is a mix between the original toy and the cartoon model, especially the shuttle mode.

If it wasn't $80, I'd be pre-ordering it and moving my 30th Anniversary Jetfire to the back of a shelf. That is not to say that I'm not going to try to find him and Omega on sale somewhere and get them then. I mean this is the Jetfire/Skyfire that I would want Gregg Berger to sign.

On the other revealed figures, I haven't really read any of the comics with Impactor so he's just kinda there. I'm not a fan of how empty his shins look though. With Mirage, I'm just not a fan of him having the wider chest, and I'm content with my CW Mirage since he was free.
You know, as a kid I never made the connection between the G1 Sideswipe toy my brother passed down to me and the characters in the Beast Wars show on TV, until Michael Bay had Sideswipe as a Corvette.

First thing's first...

"Jetfire" :BOWDOWN:

I have all the Jetfires done in the last 15 years for the most part, to include the most recent where he could be Skyfire-ish or Jetfire-ish, which I thought bridged the whole trauma that was my childhood where I wanted Jetfire the toy but also wanted a Skyfire that matched the TV show. I never recognized them as being the same characters. Now here comes the Commander Class "Jetfire"... 1) I WILL have that one, no question :-D , and 2) Please call him Skyfire... I do not want to see Jetfire on his package. :BANG_HEAD:

Omega Supreme

I have been itching to see pics of this guy since he was announced. I never got the original but i did acquire the Encore Edition where they added the face in... While I love him, never was fond of parts-forming. I was anxious to see the modern take and engineering to go into the Titan Class. While I will reserve judgement... It looks like parts forming all over again... Very recent memories of those crappy yellow clips on the legs flood my mind...which doesn't compare to those of you that had him as a kid and lost them cuz they suck at staying on.

Will I get it? Maybe... I just got to see way more than these underwhelming pictures... And what's up with that description/narrative?? You go from Skyfire's detailed and intricate one to Omega's vague story that barely sounds like it's about him.

AWE YEAH!

Really exciting stuff here!

I'm psyched for Mirage. Love the middle ground toy/toon head sculpt. Studying his images, i don't think the front of the car actually becomes his chest. But where does it go? Will be interesting to find out.

It all looks pretty damn good though.

I guess we'll be crazy leg walking all the way to August.

I read on this page a little more info on Omega. It states that he stands at 2 feet tall and will retail at 159.99$(not a bad price, considering the third party options). The full page is here:

Omega Supreme is the only one of these new reveals I really want, though I may hang back until I can get it for a reasonable price. Still, it'll be nice to have a giant Autobot to counter my Combiner Wars Devastator (they were rivals in G1 right?). Mirage and Jetfire don't interest me at all, and while Impactor does look nice, I feel as if I shouldn't buy him unless I can get some other Wreckers like Titans Return Topspin and Twin Twist and Thrilling 30 Whirl and Roadbuster, which I don't particularly want to do.

Weapon: Twin Shoulder-Mounted Rocket Launchers
Omega's face looks like a small face on a big head, but otherwise I love everythibg that figure is doung, including elevating the track so the legs can go under it instead of partforming. GIMMIE

Jetfire looks amazing and I think I am replacing that T30 figure now.

Impactor... I dont like that head, the expression is too soft and baby-faced. Its not Impactor. And the vehicle mode looks woerd. But I will probably love it in hand. Call it a maybe. That tank mode also has a lot of Flywheels' tank design in the alt mode. Its obviously not remotely close, but maybe the similar look, and guns facing out the way they do are making people think of him and the Megs tank and seeing a retool of a phantom figure?

Mirage: Perfect. I hope we see more of that mold. Not as Dragstrip, but someone
