It is tough to tell if he has waist articulation or not. All of the Hasbro digital renders have him mistranformed. The nose of the jet is supposed to fold under the cockpit but it isn't in the official renders (so very Hasbro). The Takara official photos have him correctly transformed, but I can't tell if there is a waist swivel or not.

An you're right. I mistook the crotch area for the nose of the jet but now I've looked closer at the stock photos of the bot and jet it looks like it's a different more detailed piece compared to the blank area of the nose and that waist articulation could indeed be possible. That seems quite clever improving on the functionality of the G1 design while still looking very similar.

As a bonus, someone else posted a photo from Toyfair confirming the waist swivel.

The end of the nosecone folds down, so the cockpit in the chest is the same from the alt-mode, but the part below the waist is not.

I'm liking the way those fire blast effects from Firedrive look on Chromia's back thrusters in alt mode. Have you tried experimenting with her transformation yet to find a suitable "big gun" mode for a combiner like Elita Infin1te/Orthia to hold?

I'd be plenty satisfied with a Nemesis Prime version, but any repaint of thus awesome mold would be hella awesome
carytheone wrote:Not sure if this has been mentioned, but is it just me or does Siege Ultra Magnus have some lame ass weapon names?
Simulacrum Blaster - so it's like a blaster? It blasts likenesses?
Stethoscopic Detector - looks like a rifle to me, so what is it detecting?
Magnetic Inducer Launcher - ok a fancy way of launching rockets - cool!
I love that Siege names all the weapons and outside of these silly names, they are a lot of fun. Magnus's weapons are very customizable.
They look cool, but feel unnecessary. I wish they could peg together to make one thicc gun. I found that if you peg them into the backs of his legs, they just disappear.SpikeyTigertron wrote:Back to Magnus. I’m on the fence if I like the black guns... they feel off.... attached to the silver gun. And using them by themselves they feel way too tall. They do make good leg armor/flip guns though.

Another user shared this clever use for them as well.
They'll end up in my un-loved accessory drawer ultimately though.

That being said, I cannot see it as anything other than a soft reboot of Classics/Generations. Everything has a consistent design and also seems subject to a 0.75x multiplier on the height/size of deluxe and voyager figures.
I feel like some figures from Siege kind of have the option of floating up or into the older Generations territory. Skytread, Cog, Brunt, Reflector...but the more mainline characters are dwarfed by older incarnations or characters who they should otherwise be paired with.
All of this is cool btw. Not being critical at all. I'm an adamant Generations collector and honest reflection on the line and scope says that it's pretty much drawn itself to a close.
I also think that there are some interesting releases from the past few years that are somehow forwards compatible with Siege. PotP Dinos, for instance, were definitely too small to be paired with other traditional Generations displays...but they scale damn well to Siege.
Honestly, after so many years, I think it was kind of just difficult to come to terms with starting a whole new Generations style display. But with a lot of thought into it, there's a lot of fun ahead.

AcademyofDrX wrote:Notable exception: the Classics seeker mold is too short instead of too tall. They looked fine beside Megatron and Shockwave, and I think Soundwave will be okay, but Reflector is going to throw the whole thing off since the Siege seekers are voyagers.
It'll be okay, though. Siege + Classics seekers + TR Frenzy/Rumble + Prime Wars Insecticons + CW Devastator should be a fine season 1 lineup. Megs and SW alt-modes will be the biggest difference, and I can live with that.

For me, the Classics Seekers trump everything simply because I have 8 of them. The Og Trio, the Coneheads, Acid Storm, and the Botcon repaont of Ramjet as Dirge as a random seeker (because we totally had random seekers painted as other seekers, so it kinda works)

I dunno. Even way back before I switched to movie-stuffs I was buying Classics and I had Starscream and Skywarp and still felt they were too short in robot mode and obviously far too small in jet mode (compared to Bumblebee and Optimus' vehicle modes but this often happens with G1 stuff cos of silly scale). They were certainly huge improvements on their G1 toy counterparts though.

This is why you and Scotty need to do the Classics/Henkei/Universe/Generations retrotake like you did for Masterpiece. I would even argue that even though most of Combiner Wars (the repaints as the Autobot Cars dont hold a candle to the Clasdics line) still slot in, and TR and almost all pf POTP still offered the same new takes as previous lines, Generations got away from the OG Classics/Universe mantra when it started being "serielized" with the Prime Wars trilogy. (Not that that is a bad thing, but it is a change) You might be able to make that pitch for the HFTD/RtS era, and maybe when they adopted IDW, but that was more of a relection of another trend rather than being a trend or in this case a mainline release.
