Really hoping we get track packs. I know Warden was being cheeky if owned more than one Omega you could get creative.

basically, when it comes to base modes and playsets, aside from TR Trypticon (who I find pretty cool), G1 is where its at and everything else pales in comparison. And the reason why that is, is because g1 is the definitive era when all kids played with toys and the accent was on play features more than anything else. It was the golden age of toys, before the game industry started truly competing with the industry for kids' time and (their parent's) money.

They're not even "duocons". They are 6 individual bots who can combine shirts/pants style much like Energon did (but long before Energon was conceived). The media just always portrays them in the same paired combinations.

Which would make little sense in line that is stated to be based/influenced by the cartoon.
Shouldn't be surprised by this though, as people have been bitching about not getting show accurate <insert part> on figures based on the original toys for years, so why would it change that we're getting a line intent on homaging the show.

Might be a little "big" or Drift (Deadlock) but outside of them reusing Counter/Punch... it's the next best thing... The shoulders very much remind me of Dreadlock/Drift. Was it ever mentioned if Drifts design was riffed off of Springer originally?
Springers guns combining into a sniper rifle is makin more sense!

Good points, and while I kick myself for not getting the Encore reissue of Fort Max.... I still think he's the crown jewel. Maybe it's a "you had to have played with it" but I never understood the appeal of Scorpinok/Zarak.
I do kind of wish that TR Fort Max kept more of Metroplex's internals... the lower les bein completely waisted made me sad, and that's one of the more interesting parts of Metroplex imo….
But I really kind of hope we shy away from the HUGE titans like Metroplex and Fort Max... While I imagine the new Scorpinok (we're presumably getting) might be on that scale, Devy/Omega/Predaking are big enough imo….

So you get a very good and super imposing bot mode (biggest Decepticon sold in the US), plus a decent alt mode with a cool crawling feature. And added to that you get a base mode with lots of accessories to make it look unique and independent from the other two modes, with 3 different ramps.
So while he is not the best city bot by a long shot, the fact that he still pulls it off decently enough while also having two other good modes is a pretty cool feat.

He’s a great base mode. I’ll always remember being sold hard when he emerged in base mode from the ground in Rebirth.

I think that’s brilliant swords car mode helicopter mode sniper rifle I mean that’s perfect I would be on board 100% for that.

Ah! I will admit I don't miss the motorized features. But it now makes me wonder what the new Tyrpiticon could have looked like with a little more love. I'm still shocked it didn't have a premium SDCC release (I still haven't gotten all the stickers on that thing- though that's mostly because I hate those foil stickers).
Wonder if Skorpinok comes with tampos this time?

Well, in the current Siege line, then that's a toughy... I'd like to say Prowl because of IDW, but that's not right... But if it's just the fiction in general, then maybe the Monsterbots given their rougher nature?

I was more referring to some of his more sketchy tactics when I said Prowl, but I suppose he only did that because he was trying to further the Autobot cause

Grimlock was and is always the closest thing to a Decepticon amongst the Autobots.
I was more referring to some of his more sketchy tactics when I said Prowl, but I suppose he only did that because he was trying to further the Autobot cause
They're "Heroic Autobots" for a reason.
But the potential was always baked in with some characters - Sunstreaker, Thundercracker and Grimlock were always teetering in my playworld when I was a kid. Nobody ever switched sides, though. Seemed like too much even then.
