It just so happens that in a lot of case, a very g1 style is not cool in my taste, which is why i do not have a lot of interest in MP (my wallet are grateful for that). In the case of springer, T30 version is still my favorite. I bought and played with siege springer, but in the end i sold it as it felt "too g1" for me. Same case with siege megs. That being said tho, siege is still a wonderful toyline that satisfy me a lot. I dig optimus, ironhide and hound that while based on g1, also defiate enough to make them look different. I appreciate characters like jetfire that homage both his cartoon and toy look, or the weaponizer guys, that can become upgrade kit for other figures. They also bring on some of the few g1 design that i like, like skythread and impactor. I also appreciate how they mix a bit of non g1 character like galaxy optimus, hot shot, abd barricade, even if they are just repaints. So overall, while i am not on hardcore g1 team, siege is still a big win to me.
He is an awesome figure on his own but next to other Siege figures I notice the lack of wrist, waist, and ankle articulation I think is sort of a selling point on the Siege line. Apeface can't hold the same poses in group photos like Refraktor, the Seekers, or even Megatron.Nemesis Primal wrote:Now then, what's wrong with Apeface? Sure his jet mode is kinda blocky, but other than that I have no issues with him.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

Especially because the painted piece ends up being a different shade than the wings themselves.TF-fan kev777 wrote:That sucks, big time. It is asinine that they thought it was a good idea to use clear plastic for that piece.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

What a disaster but then again feels a little expected with Siege wave 5 being a shoehorn wave that only exists because Siege ended up being a very popular line, Apeface being a hold over or rushed design kinda fits.
Astrotrain was an Earthrise figure bumped up for Siege, Crosshairs was a "lazy" head swap recolor of Ironhide probably using an alternate head sculpt that might of not been used otherwise like other unused head swaps, Spinister is probably either a hold over from the Hall of Fame plans if he was to win or/and he was also originally part of Earthrise but bumped up to Siege, for the latter idea I only think that's a possibility because Wheeljack is part of the first wave of Earthrise and he would of been Spinsiter's match from the Hall of Fame stuff.
These are just theories of course besides Astrotrain being originally an Earthrise figure, I think that was confirmed by one of the Hasbro people at some point and the reason why I suggest that Spinister might of also been originally part of the line.

If I may, I wonder what is more at fault here: the tailfin being clear plastic and more likely to break under excessive force, or the "white" superdense nylon it interacts with, providing too much of a grip on that piece with its flex.

It's a combination of both. Though are we sure it's superdense nylon?

The only thing you need to understand is this:

But yeah like the other guy said even if it's not confirmed by words, it is absolutely confirmed just by looking at the figure itself, it's such a shoehorn that doesn't fit with the rest of Siege at all.

Wasn't the explanation for Astrotrain that they moved him up to fill the last, unplanned Siege wave? At any rate, it's obvious that he was designed for Earthrise, as the tender features the A.I.R. Lock system of that line, which no other Siege figure has--with the exception of Omega Supreme.
