Like the Prime Trilogy has been (except for Legends Class in CW). I did notice that for Siege the amount of retools/reshells has been dialed back, with only 10 in the main line compared to the countless in CW and TR, most of them internal if I may add.

Well, they have to save money somewhere. I think Skullsmasher into Horri-Bull/Bullhorn could work and work well based on the ridges and the transformation engineering. Whereas Squeezeplay/Cancer and Fangry/Wilder would absolutely need new molds.

But why? They can pass that cost onto the consumer like they have with the Siege and Studio series line. I feel like we're getting better bots for it as well. Hasbro has seemingly acknowledged the collector market and are catering to us now (HasbroPulse/selects line/multiple exclusives). Go all in with the mini-masterpiece concept.

Now the real question is how much are we willing to pay for higher quality figures. Personally I'd pay more, but this will be a quality vs quantity scenario. Now before the pitch forks and torches are brought out, consider how much more was spent on importing Takara figures when they were labeled the "superior" versions.

Because even when doing that, they still have a business incentive to save on costs where they can. And I reiterate that doing Horri-Bull as a retool of Skullsmasher would NOT result in an inferior Horri-Bull. Not if it was done right, which it easily could be. And doing so would save development resources for Fangry and Squeezeplay, both of whom would need new molds no ifs, ands, or buts.

Ugh, the only thing more annoying than the Cult of Takara is the First Church of Third Party.
Personally, I wouldn't want to see retail line prices go any higher than they already have. It can be enough of a challenge to afford stuff as-is. I think that as-is it's at the limit of what's retail-viable.

That's an awful lot of ifs and caveats for a mold that isn't that great to begin with. Retooling may mitigate cost, but there are still going to be cost.

Wow, I didn't realize that a single "if" counted as "an awful lot". What postgraduate math class is that taught in? IMO the only real "if" is "If they remember to change the tail weapon too." The mold is fairly decent IMO even if a lot of copies of Skullsmasher came out with loose joints.
And did you seriously just say "Retooling may mitigate cost, but there are still going to be cost"? Well, thank you Captain Obvious! It still means less cost than a completely new mold would have. And again, retooling also mitigates the development resources that get tied up by a project.

I snipped that bit because it was in the first paragraph and was not the part of the first paragraph I was responding to.

That wasn't entirely clear. And the way you presented it kinda implies every new neo-G1 toy needs to be a premium collectors' figure, which I take it is not was not what you were going for.

A little column A, a little column B. Would you be willing to pay more for better figures? Are you satisfied with what Hasbro is putting on shelves?

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with Siege, but I would be willing to pay a little more for something that's a little better.

This exactly. I think PotP pretty much forced :TAKARATOMY: , to lower their standards to :HASBRO: . But Siege in terms of quality is a step up in the right direction. Still when I see the Selects that TT is coming up with, compared to Hasbro's own Selects. TT is knocking it out of the park. I guess what was sacrificed with the ends of the TT Legends line, in order to have TT Selects imported to Hasbro Pulse without extreme price hikes, is worth it.

Amazon oversold on pre-orders of Jetfire. If you have a 3PM delivery for tomorrow July 3rd you ain't getting it. If you were stupid like me and upgraded your order from two-day to one-day delivery, you were moved to the back of the line and are SOL. Best bet is to go to Hasbro Pulse. They're also canceling pre-orders on the Off-Road Patrol which makes sense since they're wave 4.

Just got an email saying Omega Supreme is delayed until October.

Do you have any of the following other figures with whom you could also do size comparisons with Commander class Jetfire?

1988 God Ginrai (or any of its reissues)
Car Robots God Fire Convoy/RiD 2001 Omega Prime
Armada Optimus Prime in his Super Mode
Armada Tidal Wave

From the above images, Jetfire looks to be a smidge taller than that CW Bruticus.

WFC Siege Titan Class Omega Supreme and Thundercracker potentially delayed to October

Postby notsoalex » Tue Jul 02, 2019 11:18 pm

Weapon: Dual Low-Radiation 1 Megaton Proton Bombs
Fans were quaking in their boots for War for Cybertron: Siege Titan Class Omega Supreme coming out in August 2019, however, it seems that there may be a potential delay for the set of the year.

Image

Hasbro Pulse has the release date set for October 1st, Amazon has it for October 4th, but, Big Bad Toy Store still has Omega Supreme slated for August 2019. It's hard to exactly pinpoint what this could be due to, but hopefully, more details will stroll in during San Diego Comic-Con.

Image

The madness continues for Siege Voyager Class Thundercracker, who on Hasbro Pulse awaits release on October 1st, and on Target on October 6th. Meanwhile, Amazon has him set for August 1st, and Big Bad Toy Store is set to release in July.

What is your take on this madness? Let us know, as well as if you're disappointed, in the Pub forums below.

I’m sure there’s some people who’ll be disappointed, but I’m personally okay with this. While I’m not sure for the reasoning behind this, particularly with Thundercracker, having a larger buffer between big ticket items like Jetfire and Omega Supreme is preferable for me. It lets my wallet breathe just a little.

How come Amazon hasn't shipped my Siege Skyfire yet? He was released yesterday and the page now says "Temporarily out of stock." What's the point of pre-order then? Does it have to do with the different shipping speeds? (He hasn't been shipped at all yet.)
