Takara's bad habit of boring Leader-class Autobots' fistholes a smidgen too wide? *narrows eyes very hard at the Legends Super Ginrai mold* I think of all of them Rodimus is the only one to implement the Evolution gimmick well, and his Rodebago mode beats the heck out of Titrod's IMO.
Well this is the Siege thread, so let's keep it Siege related. All I'll say is that the Hot Rod component was pretty much the only part I liked. I wish it was sold separately.

Rodimus Prime wrote:As for the "leader" class Siege Shockwave, I would have taken a BS vehicle mode at the Voyager price as opposed to what we got, because it couldn't have looked much worse and it would have been almost half price. And they nailed the robot mode so well, my Siege Shockwave is probably staying in robot mode permanently. He's seen vehicle mode only once, just because I wanted to see it for myself in hand. Once again, severely underwhelming.

Once again, what makes it underwhelming to you? I'm sincerely curious, since it looks to me like a clever downsize with reworked legs that still passes as a toy raygun to hold - or to blast a convenient exit hole for Skyfire :-D (it's been a few years since I last saw that episode, and Skyfire's smug "I can now" still makes me laugh). And your disregard for the larger modes does not erase their parts' cost or mass :P
I think they made Shocky Leader-class because A. his evolution design probably adapted more readily to C.O.M.B.A.T. than whatever they had planned for Megs and B. they doubtless wanted to sell Megs opposite Optimus, who was at the Voyager price point.
I like the base Shockwave figure itself. I even use the extra parts as a glider. But in vehicle mode, he just doesn't make sense. I know what he's supposed to be, but it's just not Shockwave to me. I don't know, maybe it's G1 bias? I mean, I'm not a Geewunner per se, though I did grow up on it and it's the biggest reason I like Siege so much. It's a true update on G1 figures. (Except Ravage.)

I think of the Decepticon vehicles like Tron vehicles - there’s not a focus on aerodynamics it’s different to be sure but Shockwave? Just turn him upside down and he’s the spittin’ image of his G1 toy I mean he’s a gun. He’s a gun they flipped upside down but we all know what it is. And unlike Megatron they just said ok he’s going to be a gun just flip him over. Because he’s a gun. A tiny gun, but a gun.

First thing I do when I get him is going to be trying to get Bruticus to hold him.

I think they're just perceiving it that way because of brand unification knocking the lenses out of their Cult of Takara goggles.

Only Siege figure I've had QC issues with was my Skytread; everything else has had great QC.

Likewise. The only QC issue I've had with Siege is a slightly bent back cannon on Sixgun.

I have two: part of the back of Skytread's tank portion is smoothed out, and on Whisper the pin on the cockpit isn't pushed in all the way through so it scrapes against the plastic.

I really kinda want this guy, but the Siege line has been so incredibly disappointing to me, I’m afraid of opening it and being let down.

I would definitely keep him. I understand your hesitance. The packaging renders don't do him justice. Jetfire is the most solid figure I've seen in a very long time. His level of detail is astounding, and he's absolutely huge! Definitely worth the cost of entry.

Brunt arrived from Amazon today! My first and quick impression is that he's a little more complex than Cog. But I haven't really had time to play with him.

Here's something cool I found though, don't think it's been posted yet..?

Gotta say, other than Masterpiece, SIEGE has to be the best line yet. The likeness is good, there's attention to scale in robot-mode, the decos are more precise than before (for Hasbro), they keep getting creative with the transformation steps, and.. it's fun! All those pegs ports and different options, and the Weaponizers... Hasbro also seems determined to complete the cast.
CW forced everyone into combiners -- and TR, while I appreciated getting the Rebirth cast, forcing the Headmaster gimmick on everyone was frustrating -- and PP was kind of without real identity and more like leftover of the former two run. Siege feels more cohesive. The war paint doesn't even bother me anymore.

Don't forget the figures not being compromised by gimmicks, meaning more articulation!

Instead of being allegedly "compromised by gimmicks", they're just compromised by short arms and fat hoods. And near-nonexistent necks.

And best of all, the one toy we know is only from Takara ,Big Powered, suffers from more qc issues than most mainline siege figures (some parts are very loose)

Man, just tried to buy a Springer I finally found at Target after getting out of Spider-Man: Far From Home, but got stopped by a streetdate of 7/28. I don't remember the streetdate people mentioned being that late in July. Was that the streetdate everyone else was hit with, or has it been pushed back even later??

No response they might realistically give will give me what I actually want, which is to be able to buy Springer from them right now. Plus, there's a likelyhood they'd reprimand or punish the employees at that store, and I don't want anyone there to be punished for such a small mistake as accidentally putting something on the shelf that shouldn't have been yet.

Ugh. Still a silly restriction for Hasbro and/ or Target to put on the item. What reason does it even have to be streetdated? It's not tied in with an upcoming movie or show, and it's not a situation like LEGO has where they like to keep their seasons of product released at consistent times.

You could at least get an answer from Hasbro as to why the streetdate is even there in the first place, and an answer from Target as to why they're abiding by it when their biggest competitor isn't. Don't want to get someone in trouble? Just tell Target you've heard this is happening, don't name the specific store or anything.

Got my hands on Brunt today, and I am pleased. He is about a head shorter than Ironhide, which I think isn't news at this point, and while I would admit it could be nice were he a bit taller, I am fine with it as is. He feels like the kind of guy who's a bit short but still jacked, he's suitably bruiser-y for the size class. His alt mode feels great (and his visible peeking eye is hilarious), and I like that his Weaponizer parts aren't all blatantly guns, it helps distinguish the Weaponizers. Cog is pretty much all guns all the time, Six-Gun has options of guns, jetpack, and Doomfist, and Brunt has armor, guns, and a bulky Doc Ock-looking setup. He definitely has the weakest-feeling Moon Boots so far, but I have only tried him on Flywheels' giant feet so far, so maybe they'll work better on bots like Refraktor or Spinister. Plus I love his coloring, I think he's the perfect shade of Decepticon purple.

I'll probably take another Weaponizing pic when it's not nighttime and I've settled on a loadout/setup I like better. Hope everyone here who celebrates it had a happy 4th of July!

Given how many people have experienced the streetdate problem, I'd be surprised if someone hasn't already tried to contact Hasbro or Target about it, and given that we haven't gotten word of an explanation for the streetdate, I'm guessing the answer wasn't really clear or meaningful. Plus, contacting customer service of any kind is incredibly draining for me. I'll just wait for the streetdate to pass or get Springer online.

Self check-out is your friend. Take Springer and another voyager up to self checkout. Scan the other voyager, put springer in your bag. Now you have a springer

Well, at this point they'll have taken the Springers back off the shelf, but I'll keep that in mind for next time, even if it does feel a bit sneaky (not in terms of how I personally feel about it, but in terms of how it might seem to people watching).

If the news about Omega Supreme is true, I'm perfectly fine with the delay. Imagine if Trypticon had been delayed a couple of months, all the defects upon release could possibly have been fixed (although I apparently got a later production run that didn't have any of the flaws.... ;) ). As we have seen, since many are so outspoken about QC issues including MYSELF (especially with the issues I had with selects), I'm more than OK with this.

My local Target in Ann Arbor, MI had Battle Masters on clearance for $2.98.
Meijer had them on clearance for $4.19 and Micromasters for $6.99.

Was surprised to see this. I picked up one more each of Firedrive and Blowpipe just for the blast effects.
