Yeah Will it’s weird - by me most Soundwaves are gone but there’s still some, and the cassettes about the same. Some places though they disappeared super quick and haven’t come back.

What’s interesting is I’ve noticed 24hr WalMarts have sucky stock and no Jetfires. WalMarts that close at midnight have way better stock and have Jetfires (or had Jetfires)

I need a price match I’ve never done that but Jetfire was so much $$$ I have to at least try.

Slight clarification: Walmart won't price match other stores that have it on clearance for the reasons Will stated, but they will price match their own website if they have it cheaper online. Doesn't really help here, but good to know.

I don't feel bad. Jetfire is definitely worth it IMHO. But honesty, I just saw 2 Jetfires at the same store I purchased him at a few weeks ago and they were full price. Walmart is definitely shooting themselves in the foot. I fully expected Jetfire to go on sale at some point, but not until closer to the end of the year, it's still practically brand new, and it's not like there are tons of him self warming. I'd say the number of Walmart stores actually carrying him in the continental US are maybe...20% , and that is being generous. There might be more in my local area, but virtually NONE in some less populated states.

Possibly. It could also be more of a "We can't figure out how to organize our shelves so that This bigger more expensive transformer is near any of the other transformers, so we might as well just clearance him so we don't have to worry about it anymore."

I Plus, they could duo-combine.

Not with each other, sadly. For some reason, the Tow-Line mold was the only Energon Deluxe class Autobot mold that couldn't become a set of pants, transforming only from vehicle to robot to torso combiner. The sled, on the other hand, is what took the place of the mold's lack of a pants mode.

I have Energon Tow-Line and I want a second one just to try out a combined mode with a round torso and tiny tiny legs!

I am certainly no expert when it comes to YT toy reviews. But am I alone in thinking, some of the things I want to see aside from the toy and transformation itself are:

1. a comparison with TR and/or Legends Astrotrain?
2. Seeing how the base linking gimmick looks with other figures?

Walmart does offer returns up to 90 days on toys, so I'm hoping to spot a Jetfire on clearance and just return it using my original receipt.

PotP had deluxe figures that *evolved* into Leaders
Siege has Voyager figures that via *extentions* make them Leader Class

It's been this way for two lines. I'd wait and see what the next line offers as far as Leader Class figures before declaring them truly dead. After All SS still is making Leader Class figures...sort of...

In other news, I got the last Thundercracker on Amazon.com on Friday. Received it Monday. He's, of course, awesome. For the life of me, though, I can't figure out why they left the Decepticon symbols of the robot side of his wings. At first I put it down to the red strip, but Starscream has both. So does Skywarp (in purple).

As far as the smirking face, I think it more suits Skywarp or Starscream than Thundercracker, but I can live with it.

I'd really LOVE to have those Ratchet and Ironhide. They are the perfect G1 hommage with the sled thing. Plus, they could duo-combine.

Too bad they are Botcon exclusives with the price to match.
Ironhide is near 100$CAN counting shipping and taxes. But holy crap that Ratchet! Only one available and he's nearly 300$!

I suspect the one for $300 has been there for a while. I sold mine and the biddingbdidnt go that high. I loved them, but I did not like the proportions and the heads were bubble shaped, definately TFCC's early head designing days. But I really widh they would revisit the engineering again, they were great toys.

I like the idea of price points more than hard defined in height size classes. Most of the recent leader class figures from previous lines I bought were just too damn big and didn't look good within their own line. I can only think of two leader class figures that make sense to me, T30 Jetfire and TR Overlord (I'm sure there's more, but didn't spot any after a quick scan of my office).

I'll also say that Siege Shockwave and Astrotrain should've/should just drop all the extra stuff and been/be released at the voyager price point.

So, an unplanned run home on my Lunch resulted in a nice surprise, a Titan sized box from BBTS.

Note that the wings are detached. The rocket section looked like it was, but there is a trick there.

Maybe you guys all knew this, but it was a surprise to me: the arms and shoulderblades are all tje same assembly: the rocket itself.l, and the middle portion of the rocket spreads and flattens on his back. The tracks slot in between the rocket shell and his actual back

The wings are stored in the folded carbboard book style over his head. The other two are just fillers. Like Skyfire, his blast ecfects are in a baggy taped to the box beside him.

Since I have to go back to work ( ) I really havent gotten a good impression other than "he came out of the box easy". My ome gripe so far is that his ponytail gun looks kinda weak, but thats a nitpick. But overall I am really excited to take him apart and see how it all goes together. Omega has been the character I have been most excited to see get the Titan treatment from the start.

I never said that. Quite the opposite. If you don't get Siege Mirage, there are others to fill that void. But there is nothing even close to as good as these Ironhide and Ratchet toys.

Purely subjectively, I'm still partial to the old BotCon 2005 ones, even if they are hard to come by and have peculiar-looking headsculpts.

Do they end up on the small side ?

IIRC, most Energon Deluxe class Autobots were pretty chunky toys. Not tall, but not pint-sized, either.

Why do these two Tow-Line repaints get so much love? It's a fun toy with the G1 "weapon sled" part nailed down for Ironhide and Ratchet...but everything else about them is awful. The head sculpts are atrociously bad. The proportions are all wonky with the skinny thighs and extra wide beer guts for entire torsos. The paint jobs are passable, but not really all that accurate either. To me, they work much better as "Energon" versions of Ironhide and Ratchet than they do their actual G1 selves, or even as "reimagined" 2006 Classics versions.
