I ordered Shockwave after the notification of the Amazon/Target price drop in the main page news. I picked him up yesterday and I have three main thoughts:

1. I love the figure.
2. I’m glad I waited and didn’t pick him up at regular Leader class pricing.
3. His sled is bad@$$. I’m refraining from armoring him up so I have an attack drone to sneak up behind unsuspecting Autobots. Poor Slamdance was a causality:

56F2EAC4-03C8-4F22-8497-7FA2446F0140.jpeg

I do wish Shockwave was a bit taller, as without being weaponized, he’s almost the exact height as a Seeker. What are everyone’s takes on the extra cost for what amounts to accessories? Regardless, The way I look at it, at $29.99, I got the sled for free. I’d recommend anyone pick him up who hasn’t already done so.

Siege has been so great.

Now that almost all of Siege is out, am the only one who thinks the worst mold is Megatron? Of all the transformations, his is the least interesting, same for his alt mode. And of all the robot modes, his looks the less sleek. Don't know if I am the only one to feel that way.

No you're not Will. I agree. By no means do I think it's a terrible figure or a bad toy. Just the weakest of the line.
I actually think that says a lot about just how good this whole line has been.

I think the Prowl mode is pretty bad. The feet are kind of naff, the torso is completely hollow and it’s pretty light on plastic even by the “new deluxe” size. I do like the styling of the car mode.

Megatron is the worst voyager by far though.

I'm almost right there with you. I find Chromia to be the worst, but at the same time that almost seems unfair since she shares most of the engineering/transformation as Greenlight which is a carryover from PotP. The best portion of that mold is the combiner functionality for me. That combiner mold is also one of my least favorite combiner molds overall as well, so I'm pretty biased against Chromia from the start and only got her because Pulse had the wave 2 deluxes at $9.99.

If I exclude Chromia on that basis and Greenlight/Lancer as well, then yep, it is Megatron for me. Which really says something as I like him overall better than the CW and TR versions and he is the Megatron for my collection, but every other mold except for Chromia/Greenlight/Lancer is better and more fun to me.

Yeah exactly. I was taking all the siege toys out to stage a fight scene with Omega in base mode and as I was transforming them all, he was the one I just felt the least excitement for. That prime is still as fun to play with as the first time. I also like the seeker mold more than I thought I would. I like how everything clicks together and becomes super solid in alt mode.

Upcoming SIEGE Leader Class Astrotrain gallery (teaser)

My balls-to-the-wall 220+ image gallery of SIEGE Leader Class Astotrain should be posted on Friday. Just finished it tonight. It was a lot more work than I expected and hence took much look long since I decided to do galleries of the Titans Return and Transformers Legends figures that I had missed during the past couple of years. I did comparison pics with the Hasbro and Takara necessary figures, as well as other SIEGE figures, Astrotrains, post office scale comparisons, etc. It is the definitive Astrotrain gallery and will be posted on Friday. Here are some teaser pics in the meantime ...

Just from those gallery pics I'm kinda leaning towards the Titans Astrotrain. Those feet on the Seige are kinda big.

As always great pics Ryan. Appreciate the time you take to give us great views and comparisons.

Edit and apologies: Even his feet are a bit flat and uninspiring but not as bad as the sidewswipe mold, its just clever angles and good use of them in this photo that make him look similar size to the the two taller figures behind him with out the use of his booties (which look even worse but at least give it some height). Impressed with the weight and that he doesn't necessary stand out like a (very short) sore thumb and can still display well but the TR one wins for me (I'm also kind of impressed how long the Shinkansen was on the classics figure for a deluxe), looking forward to the photos.

I've had Ironhide in vehicle mode for a while and had been wanting to do a back to back with him and Impactor. I just transformed him tonight and dang, Impactor's way taller. Not a full head taller but it's much more significant than I thought it would be.

And I love Siege Megatron. He leans back a little too far and the way his ankles are designed makes it difficult to compensate but he's awesome. One of the best G1 looking Meg robot modes we've seen in a while and a spot on fusion cannon. I mean, it's the best 5mm peg Megatron cannon we've had in...well, forever. Love the sword, the face, the whole look.

I've got to say sadly the one female on the roster, Chromia loses for me. She's the only one out of all these figures that literally has parts fly off in my face (her netherdrawers).

Great to hear that Impactor is taller then Ironhide, having him and Ratchet on my shelf I thought they would be the same height.

I like Megatron in the line as well, one of the weaker ones but I don't think he's a bad fig plus he comes with cool weapons and displays well with the other Siege Decepticons.

Actually, I'm asking myself, "Why am I so pleased with these fugly old derp bots?".
I guess it's because A. I like a lot of the old derpy clunky toys from the old days, and B. I'm super psyched these ding dongs got an update at all.
And a pretty darn serviceable one at that.
It will be fun in the near future to compare and contrast to the Diaclone Reboot trio of these very same guys that should be trickling in very soon.

Edit: Anybody else who has received their Aragon find the peg and port connection between his upper torso and waste to be super loose? On mine, he just falls in half at the slightest shake. :(

Not on Aragon, but I triple dipped on Cog and 1 of my 3 does the same thing. I was lucky enough that swapping the pants/shirt of the super loose one with one of the others gave me 2 that were a little loose, but not falling off.

Looking at these WFC lines does make me interested in the potential of the Netflix show. Could we have Powerdashers, Brunt or the Tetrajets (all seven, not just SS) prominently featured? Or another show squandered on the popular/overexposed?

Beast Wars, Car Robots, Unicron Trilogy. All super interesting Megatron designs. Normally as soon as you lean towards gun metal grey... Yawn

On the topic of weakest figures of the line, I have to agree with the Chromia and Megatron mold for reasons already stated.

I also have to add the Prowl mold. The lower half of the robot mode on him is not overly good, even though it is a fairly decent mold overall. It's just weaker than the rest.

My Cog is like that, I think it's an issue with the mold where the friction is leaves no room for any error in toy production.

For Tank Megatrons Maybe. I do feel this way about the CW Leader as well (thought that one<s alt mode is way better), for instance. But his G1 toy's tranasformation is probably one of the most interesting from that era. The Classics megatron had a great transformation too. This one is rather dull.

That's how I feel about Prowl's MP mold as well.

And for those who mentioned Chromia, right she is indeed not great either, but as Kev said I wasn't really thinking of her not being as new an experience/mold as the rest. Plus I don't own her and forgot she existed since I didn't care for her for the reasons just stated. I am glad I got that previous Gen Chromia to be the Chromia in my collection. Thank again Cobo for hooking me up with that.
