It's possible Shockwave get headswapped into somebody else. His design is suitably generically 'big clunky robot with guns' that he could get a new head (and hand) and some new/modified armor parts.

Shockwave repaints:

Grey Shockwave (Shackwave)
Actionmaster Shockwave
Five Faces of Darkness Shockwave
Energon Sixshot

Not saying these are good ideas but there are options.

Forgot Shattered Glass Shockwave!

... of which there are technically two: color-opposite Energon Shockblast, and the BotCon Customizing Class one... well, the Animated-inspired SG Longarm version

:EDIT: I can't believe I've only just now noticed this:

We all know Topshot is actually Big Shot renamed, right? Apparently, his new name has the trademark-strengthening "Autobot", making his new name Autobot Topshot.

... they're good at hiding that.

I still want Tailwind and Nightflight for future waves but my hopes got low when someone said they are not making the other half of the micromasters.

Sad. :(
Still Playing Fall Of Cybertron, it's still a great sequel!

They sure are, but it makes me wonder why they didn't just call him "Autobot Big Shot"? Topshot is his Japanese name so maybe they just liked it more and it worked better for Takara Tomy?

Not every name can be "rescued" by adding a prefix, it's more for strengthening it by making it more unique. Besides, TakaraTomy takes over Hasbro's names for most of their shared lines, ever since the 2007 movie. Also, the name of his Japanese counterpart back in G1 was Gunlift, so that's not a factor.

I'm disliking the dirt and "battle damage" more every time I see it, but damn, that face, that magnificently evil visage.

As much as I passed on TR Megs, and this guy is quite similar, minus the jet mode, that face just makes me want to get him.

Also, where does he store those sword blades in, in tank mode?

Agreed -- Still dislike the dirt/damage effects, some of it doesn't even look intentional, more like someone touched the figure with paint-hands. (Hey, anyone notice Flywheels has none of that?)

Best Megatron head/face-sculpt after the MP-36.

You may be right. Though shouldn't they be poking out the back of the turret? They are quite long, and the arms are collapsed. Haven't seen any tank mode pics where they can be seen.

Yes. Haven't seen this good of a face sculpt for Megs outside of MP-36.

They're about as long as the fusion cannon, which forms the middle of the turret. Past it the blades may hide under the cannon.

If that's the case, they are extremely well hidden. Wouldn't think the fusion canon would hide them so well.

Pretty cleverly integrated and hidden. In some pics you can see the pointy bits poking out the back.

Seeing Megatron wielding a Targetmaster Partner is amusing to me since I'm pretty sure he was a major inspiration for the gimmick.

There does seem to be a lot of wasteful packaging, They could fit at least another member in there

Yeah, it is fairly wasteful but it doesn't look to be any worse than the current Legends cards already are. It's definitely packaging designed to maximize the space for the "Catch the customers' eyes" artwork above all else.

Skritz wrote:Wait. THE TURRET MOVES?!

I'm honestly not too surprised. HasTak figured out how to pull that stunt off way back in 2005 with Cybertron Defense Scattorshot, and repeated it in 2015 with Combiner Wars Megatron.

Do you know what would be a good exclusive for this line if it doesn't happen at the tail end of PotP? A second US release of the Unite Warriors Blastoff mold... this time in G2 colors. Yeah, it wouldn't exactly fit in properly with the rest of the Siege stuff, but that's something that exclusives are good for. And Hasbro does owe us one *glares at the Combiner Wars G2 Bruticus set*

6 additional Siege TakaraTomy stock photos from Dengeki Hobby

Postby notsoalex » Sun Oct 21, 2018 12:08 am

Weapon: Dual Low-Radiation 1 Megaton Proton Bombs
A while ago, we put up an which featured many nice, HD, stock photos for the new Siege: War for Cybertron Trilogy toyline. Thanks to seibertron user Cyberpath, Dengeki Hobby finally put up an article featuring the stock photos for the Decepticons and more. Out of these stock photos we've picked out the six new stock photos. It comprises of two new Megatron stock photos, which mounts the fusion cannon onto his arm, unlike the original stock photos. We also have another Megatron photo using Blowpipe. Then we have Leader Shockwave using the Blowpipe fire effect with the second configuration for his additional parts. Finally we have Hound and Skytread wielding the Micro Master packs. So thoughts on these photos? Tell us in the pub forums below!

I think it's a shame that for Flywheels they didn't make two merging Tfs like Battletrap. Still, a better toy than the last one we got - and I'm not over yet not getting a Triple Changer version. It seems that the character is cursed... or not very popular, at least.

Skytread/Flywheels being exactly like Battletrap was probably wishful thinking on our part. The two individual bots are much more complex than most Legends, effectively being Triplechangers themselves. They probably only were able to budget them by only having three other new Legends molds in the line (Beachcomber, Slash, and Windcharger), along with three slight retools (Tailgate, Cindersaur, and Outback), and one minor repaint of a much older figure (Skrapnel). Skrapnel is likely the biggest factor in us getting Battletrap since he was basically a budget freebie saving money they could use on the Duocon. If Siege Deluxe really are $17.99 that's not enough to cover two Legends, let alone two Legends that complex.

And personally I'm very glad they didn't go the lazy way and make the Duocons just another pair of Triplechangers. It works as a club exclusive, but we deserve something more faithful at retail.

Personally I think it's a shame we got two TF's that merged into one like Battletrap.

That was what made the Duocons fun, two alt modes into one robot mode. They screwed up Battletrap and made things right for Flywheels, here's hoping they go back and "fix" Battletrap.
