It's going to take a hell of a lot for this "tribute" to beat him. Good luck Hasbro, thanks for at least making the effort!
As someone who also owns the old one, I'm buying this because I want a version of the design with functioning hips.
The altmode cab is on his chest underneath the Super Mode windows that cover it. The Super Mode shoulder pads and gauntlets are fake altmode kibble.Flashwave wrote:It sorta looks like the Shoulder pad cab and gauntlets might go together, maybe they form a whole cab? Seems like an unneccesary stwp though given the mold.

That's possible.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The altmode cab is on his chest underneath the Super Mode windows that cover it. The cab halves on the shoulders are fake, yeah. But I think the gauntlets are real, given the functioning wheels. I think they attach to him as part of his equivalent to UM's bumper piece.

In a way, with how Ultra Magnus wears boots, gauntlets, and a whole body cover over his smaller inner body to get his proper look, he kinda reuses the way Fire Convoy/RiD 2001 Optimus wears boots, gauntlets, and a whole body cover over his own smaller inner body to become Super Fire Convoy/his Battle Mode.william-james88 wrote:I am not as excited as the rest of you. Unlike all the G1 stuff, this feels more like a different version rather than an update. Like Siege Magnus is clearly and update to G1 Magnus, but this just feels like a reused design that we have seen before. Don't know if that makes any sense. Reminds me of POTP Optimal Optimus in tha way, a mimic of another toy.

Hehem. Sorry got a little excited there.

If you have the figures, compare them with the Seibertron galleries. There are slight differences, but overall the splotches are in the same place and the same shapes.
Might have been a possibility![]()
I wonder how they did it on TLK Leader Megatron. I think his battle damage was a bit different on every figure. And Studio Series 07 Grimlock
Hellscream9999 wrote:Yeah, plus, that's like saying the bw figures need updating (I'm generalizing) but a lot them don't actually need a 'generations' style update, they hold up on their own, however, much like primal, I feel like this is more a love letter to fans who came on board much later, and are unable to access the old figures, they can now do so through some sort of vicariousness by obtaining this toy; It's not meant to be a replacement, or de-boot the old toy, this is just meant to be an accessible, fun, alternate take on a past figure, and I am 100% on board with this

Probably a going to be retool, i mean why not?
That's the vibe I get, that this figure is just a fun one off. And while it does look cool and fun it doesn't spark any joy for me, and I'm OK with that. I'm always looking for reasons to not buy stuff. I am still excited to see the alt mode though. I guess somethings are just more fun to watch than do.Hellscream9999 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:In a way, with how Ultra Magnus wears boots, gauntlets, and a whole body cover over his smaller inner body to get his proper look, he kinda reuses the way Fire Convoy/RiD 2001 Optimus wears boots, gauntlets, and a whole body cover over his own smaller inner body to become Super Fire Convoy/his Battle Mode.william-james88 wrote:I am not as excited as the rest of you. My mind got sparked because the Combat System and also the Micromasters are being identified probably as Minicons and confirm that they can combine into weapons, As well as Cog being homage to Armada Overload
i also wanted an update on Armada Demolisher. he's a cool guy.
I love Cybertron OP but I'm absolutely on the same page as you when it comes to the SIEGE version of this character. You totally hit my thoughts about him.Carnivius_Prime wrote:Uh, ok. I never cared for the TFCybertron version of Optimus Prime so this looks both hideous and laughable to me (especially cos his chest armour looks kinda like the cheap kids sunglasses I see often in pound shops and doesn't help that it doesn't mesh well with the chest underneath it at all). Always thought that head design was awful too. Maybe I gotta have nostalgia for TFCybertron to like this one, I dunno, but yeah it's probably one of the ugliest looking TF figures I've seen in a while, certainly the worst in Siege so far. I thought Magnus was overly chunky but at least it all looked consistent and fit well.

Yes! I am not alone! A Siege/WFC trilogy Demolishor would rock hardcore.
