Maybe they thought it was neccesarily enough to add in. I wish they did the same with Siege Red Alert and just left how he originally looked. The black light bar and boring arms were a bit of a letdown, but at least they retooled the head.

Oh it's a different head?? I thought it was the same! Oh that's great news. I wanted him even though I thought he was just a straight up repaint but that makes it that much sweeter.

He doesn't. Just a Cybertronian "F" and "D" bookending an Autobot symbol. The "Fire Chief" Cybertronian lettering, while present in initial renders, was removed in the latest stock photos and in-package shots, along with the red paint on the biceps and the red color in the light bar. Red Alert got significantly altered, mostly for the worse, between initial solicitations and his actual production, unfortunately. :( The only thing that really improved was the head being retooled to resemble Red Alert's cartoon model. Earlier renderings had it as just a repainted Sideswipe head.

Between the old reveal and the new stock photo, there has been a few changes. Besides the new head, the biceps, which used to be red, are now white, the extra cybertronian text on the bottom of his chest and the sides of his vehicle mode are now gone, and his light bar appears to be black instead of red.

Overall, while I like the new head, I would have preferred the older colors and texts. Oh well ;)

It looks like Barricade's light bar has red coloration, but the plastic itself is the same purple as his windscreen. I suspect Red Alert will be the same way, so it'll probably have some red, just not enough to make up for the dark translucent plastic. At any rate, his lightbar is certain to be less red than originally shown.

I doubt it'll matter enough for me to get a second Prowl to borrow the light bar. Of course, there's that Aileron mod going around...

I wouldn't mind this explanation, if it weren't for the fact that Siege Red Alert has no dark red translucent plastic, unlike Barricade, who does have translucent plastic to gang mold from. But Red Alert only has that black looking plastic for his wheels and windshield. Unless this plastic is really, really dark red, like what you are talking about

It attaches to the forearm. There should be a 5mm peg under the cockpit section that forms the base.

I was thinking about doing that, but instead I plan to give Sideswipe's silver cannon to Sideswipe instead of buying another one. I was already planning to get that box set for the Battle Master and Fire Blasts, and I might have G2 Sideswipe sub for Scamper, even if he's a little off.

Alternatively, I might use the silver gun for Hound's missile, the silver launcher for Red Alert's launcher, and a Sixgun blaster for Red Alert's missile. At any rate, I think I'll have enough weapons laying around that I can make everyone look close enough without getting duplicates. It seems like it would be really easy for Hasbro to just, like, give everyone more guns? But there's a play pattern at work, what are you gonna do.

Rather than get another Sideswipe, I'll likely do what you suggest since G2 Sideswipe is a whole different guy in my personal universe.

That blends in gorgeously!!

Barricade: I am now really pleased that "To Punish and Enslave" might be in Cybertronian on his door. That is perfection.

Pteraxadon is a wonderful Battlemaster, definitely my favorite, with Lionizer in 2nd. Love him, and he goes pretty well with SS38 Prime. I would also say he is a much better axe than Siege voyager prime's axe

Teraxadon has one of my fave blast effects too works great as battle damage or I like to use it as Soundwave’s gun effect.

I wish the Siege figures had a notch on their firsts so it looks like they are punching with that kind of force, or even that they are doing some sort of video game power move or something

I honestly wish we had a time machine to go back in time to Combiner Wars and have them implement Siege engineering (copious 5mm ports, sfx notches and maybe ankle tilt) to the entire Prime Wars trilogy...

I disagree on ankle tilts for all.

the combiners were a lot better with the HFG. The only combiner that really won with the ankle tilts is Computron, and that's because he is wearing size Gazillion boots.

the others? It is not as nice to the figures acting as legs and makes the combiners more unstable. My CW ones are far more stable than Victorion and the ones using PotP feet

I think he meant ankle tilts for the deluxe/voyager figures themselves as opposed to the combiners.

That’s brilliant I’d love that! You can use that blue effect similarly I mean it won’t attach to the fist but once pegged to another bot...well....man now I just want burning knuckle effects!

I'll point out that he does have a sticker on his foot that most of the figures at this show had (like on SS Prime's bumper) that reads "deco sample not final". The final figure could still lack the text.

Funny that someone took the time to cut the Autobot symbol out of that sticker and stick it to his face.
